buzzy Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 it makes me laugh that we still have a donkey in the shape of waghorn at the club but rumoured to be selling proberly our best striker pearson you are a complete **** if you sell the wrong striker to another rival .you would have thought he would learn by know
Mark_w Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 How can people do readily be apparently happy with selling Becks when over 70% of those voting on my excellent poll stated 'keep him he's great'?? Either my poll was shite ( very doubtful!) or we have some amazingly fickle fans around these here parts!!??
kingfox Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 Waghorn - Has a record of around 1 in 3.5 games under Pearson, not too shabby. Schlupp - Did well in League One deserves a chance to impress in the Championship. 1 in 3.5 games this record only because of the 2009/2010, that was three years ago, he hasn't been given a chance since then because he isn't good enough and is out of favour, can you really see him getting above Vardy, Nugent, Futacs and Schlupp? No he won't and he will never start another league game for Leicester City again. Schlupp deserves a loan spell, he needs experience yes he did well at Brentford but he should be loaned to a bigger League 1 side or a low Championship side like Bristol City.
TrentFox Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 But what will we talk about on FoxesTalk if we sell Beckford ????
Mark_w Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 he hasn't been given a chance since then because he isn't good enough How can you know that if he hasn't been given a chance? Is this another of those 'Ritchie DeLaet is shit' until you've actually seen him play and then 'he might not be that bad actually' things?

NewburyFox Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 But what will we talk about on FoxesTalk if we sell Beckford ???? Should we have sold Beckford?/Selling Beckford will come back to haunt us/Beckford would've fired us to promotion etc.
Corky Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 But what will we talk about on FoxesTalk if we sell Beckford ???? Hopefully Darren or Jason Beckford will sign.
kingfox Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 How can you know that if he hasn't been given a chance? Is this another of those 'Ritchie DeLaet is shit' until you've actually seen him play and then 'he might not be that bad actually' things? Waghorn hasn't been good enough since his loan spell Mark, yes he has been injured but when being used on the bench he has failed to make an impact by coming off it, like I said earlier players make very good impacts when coming off the bench, but Waghorn hasn't. He is out of favour for a reason, and that reason is Nugent, Vardy, Futacs, Schlupp will also count Beckford, are better than him, last season aswell he was even back from injury but wasn't making the bench until the last couple of games. I really can't see him starting another league game for us Mark, because these players are far better than him on overall quality. He offers very little, the way he has been striking a ball of late there is not a cat in hells chance, he will start a League game again, the game against Burton knocked the nail in his coffin, it showed that he isn't good enough for this football club anymore. De Laet from what I seen of him prior to Leicester at Man Utd, Portsmouth and Norwich I didn't rate him, but I will admit he has looked good so far, while Drinkwater was poor last season was far too inconsistent but I did say he needed to improve dramatically and it seems he has done just that, but Matty James so far I might actually be right on, not because he isn't a good footballer, it's because I don't think we need a type of player like him in midfield, because as you can tell from the Sunderland, Peterborough, Charlton and Burton games, that he is far too similar than Drinkwater, Danns and King.

You made too early a judgement on De Laet and are being proved wrong, you've written James off to early and he could still very well prove you wrong, and Waghorn following his loan spell was only used coming off the bench with little time to make an impact (Some player can do that regularly, some can't it doesn't make him bad) and he was used on the wing. I just don't get why some people on here are so quick to write players off, surely he deserves a full season starting games in his natural position and then if he does poorly you can judge him (Like with Beckford) but so far, when Waghorn has started games under Pearson he has always performed well, our manager knows how to get the best out of him so surely our fans could give him a chance under the manager who got the best out of him?
sdb Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 Got a feeling this won't go through...would be pretty awkward!
adam Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 Massivly disappointed if we sell him. Ok hes not set the world on fire but a good run in the first team this season may have seen us get the best out of him. Seem to be putting a lot of faith in a lad whos never played in the league before in Vardy and Fuctas who has a terrible scoring record. Ah well.
Guest ttfn Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 Definition for calibre: Web definitions: quality: a degree or grade of excellence or worth; "the quality of students has risen"; "an executive of low caliber". You must understand what I mean tho, c'mon I understand what you're trying to say, but to use the word "excellence" in relation to Beckford is barmy. Just to recap on Beckford's first season with us: August to mid-January: Unspeakably shit. Mid-January to mid-March: Frequently very good, scored a lot of goals on a 10 game spell. Mid-March to end of season: Not quite as shit as the first four months, but still one of our worst couple of performers in almost every game. The guy's been pathetic for us and is not proven at this or any other level above League One. I'd be surprised if he left though; can't see anybody paying the wages he's on.

Waghorn isn't good enough, and will not get in over Vardy, Nugent, Futacs and Schlupp it's as simple as that. If you like it or not, he hasn't always performed well under Pearson, he hasn't done anything at this club since his loan spell, he wasn't good under Sousa, Sven and Pearson 2nd spell. You can easily tell he isn't nowhere near as good as he was three season's ago now, he will not get another chance. James is too similar you can easily tell it, we don't need another player like him at this football club, we should of brought in a defensive midfielder or attacking midfielder, not another out to out central midfielder, who is exactly like the one's we have, it makes no sense what so ever.
Burmesefox Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 We should not sell beckford. Waggy and schlupp are not good enough. Knockers on the wing provides balance and width. Futacs is a target man. Nooge and beckford are very similar players and cannot play together. Vardy looks very good. Now Nooge and becks...... Nooge is the darling of the club and becks the villain. But let's be honest we are splitting hairs when talking about strike rate. Neither lived up to billing but I truly believe that both can next season, if becks had missed that header that Nooge did against Blackburn well he would have been burnt at the stake. I see becks and Nooge being equal replacements for one another this season. Both will, of given the chance, bag 15 goals or more.
hackneyfox Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 13 pages on german breakfast v waghorn Has he gone then?
Leicester_Loyal Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 its all about service He has had plenty of chances and missed so many easy ones. All of our strikers have. We need to improve the finishing and be more clinical if we are to start stringing some wins together.
lcfc matt Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 I was thinking that it is all still speculation so we have 13 pages of bullshit
Mark_w Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 You can easily tell he isn't nowhere near as good as he was three season's ago now Glad we agree on something.
kingfox Posted 30 August 2012 Posted 30 August 2012 Glad we agree on something. Anyway hearing Sky Sports will confirm Beckford to Huddersfield on a loan deal. Expect confirmation soon.
