Stoke boss Tony Pulis is ready to let the Trinidad & Tobago international go out on loanfollowing the capture of Michael Owen. Leeds boss Neil Warnock wants Jones to replace Ross McCormack, who is facing at least a month on the sidelines with an ankle injury. Scotland international McCormack is undergoing scans to determine whether he has suffered a break or ligament damage. Warnock said: “We are looking for someone who can improve the squad, and we would love to get a striker in before playing Nottingham Forest on Saturday. “Most of the better players have already gone out on loan and, as it is, we can’t really replace Ross because we’re a bit thin on the ground.†Leicester chief Nigel Pearson has also targeted Jones, 27, to boost an attack that is finding goals hard to come by this term. shen Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 Shouldn't we try out Futacs first? Then again, if he isn't up to much, any of Jones, Heskey, Roberts etc. would do.
Corky Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 I thought he was around 31/32. Sorry Kenwyne
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 What was the point in getting Futacs. Crap at footy but at least he does massive shits. Probably what spurred Pearson on to sign him. I live for farts

kingfox Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 Kenwyne Jones is more of a target man, he is a target man come goalscorer, he can do both things very well. I like Jones and he could be a very useful player for us, and I would take him hands down. We need to bolster this squad, because we don't have enough players, we have only 22 players on our books and that isn't good enough, Pearson said he wants to work with 24-25. smudgerfox Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 assume if we get jones we"ll let beckford go - otherwise there is no point
Captain... Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 Jones' goal scoring record is surprisingly poor, when he is on form he is an absolute nightmare for defenders, but the fact that he is deemed surplus to requirements by stoke, who play to his strengths, because they have signed a shell of a former superstar, makes me think they don't rate him that highly. Anyway, I would be happy to see him in the royal blue, but not if we become a crappy hoof ball team.
Jace Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 Sven would of cut out the middle man and gone straight for Michael Owen

OzFox Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 Some of my family are Stoke season ticket holders. They describe Kenwyne as "a lumbering ox". Having watched him a couple of times, I'm inclined to agree.
Dan LCFC Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 Would love him, we're crying out for someone to get on the end of these crosses.
Bugg Posted 18 September 2012 Share Posted 18 September 2012 It'd be just our luck if he signed, then broke his ankle doing his somersault celebration after scoring on his debut
absolutelegend Posted 18 September 2012 Share Posted 18 September 2012 Would love this to happen = he's big strong and quick, and quite literally, in a different league to what we currently have. I hate to say this so soon in the season, but its clear to me that none of our current striking options are going to get us the goals we need for promotion. topharry123 Posted 18 September 2012 Share Posted 18 September 2012 He was always a mediocre premier league player to me that could hold his own but didn't stand out. In the Championship, I could see him being a HUGE asset to anyone and I would love to see him sign for us!

TrentFox Posted 18 September 2012 Share Posted 18 September 2012 Kenwyne would be the ideal back-up for free-scoring Waghorn. or free-scoring Nugent, Vardy and Beckford for that matter !
Col city fan Posted 18 September 2012 Share Posted 18 September 2012 What would be the point of signing big Jones having only recently got Futacs? And hardly ever played him?
Basildon Fox Posted 18 September 2012 Share Posted 18 September 2012 What would be the point of signing big Jones having only recently got Futacs? And hardly ever played him? Possibly he has realised how poor Futacs is and that he has dropped a bollock by wasting a wage on him.
