Happy Fox Posted 22 October 2012 Posted 22 October 2012 Bolton for the playoffs if Dougie gets them performing I think top 2 is a bit to far for them.
Super_horns Posted 22 October 2012 Posted 22 October 2012 More money and bigger squad to work with..but increased pressure. However its true Palace fans weren't too pleased with him before their recent run.
FoxyPalace.com Posted 22 October 2012 Posted 22 October 2012 http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11672/8187591/Crystal-Palace-grant-Bolton-permission-to-speak-to-manager-Dougie-Freedman Link above, Palace boss allowed to speak to Bolton, Bit of a strange move by palace after the best start for years!
Tielemans63 Posted 22 October 2012 Posted 22 October 2012 Think he might be one of those managers who does well at a club where he is well-known but struggles when moving away. Bit like Eddie Howe when he went to Burnley.
Leicesterpool Posted 22 October 2012 Posted 22 October 2012 I think he'll struggle there to be honest, not really an exciting name for Bolton really.
Grey Fox Posted 23 October 2012 Posted 23 October 2012 Accepted it now according to the BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20022190 Good timing for our game on Saturday.
notnow john Posted 23 October 2012 Posted 23 October 2012 Palace not too bothered ,didn't offer him a new contract and his expires at the end of this season. Can't blame him.
Libertine Dream Posted 23 October 2012 Posted 23 October 2012 Supposedly left now, bad move for all parties in my opinion
Unabomber Posted 23 October 2012 Posted 23 October 2012 Supposedly left now, bad move for all parties in my opinion This. I can see Palace falling off now, and Bolton settling for mid table anonymity.
Guest Posted 23 October 2012 Posted 23 October 2012 Listen I won't believe it until I see a poll on who next from Leicesterpool!
Happy Fox Posted 23 October 2012 Posted 23 October 2012 Listen I won't believe it until I see a poll on who next from Leicesterpool! Quick get on the case, it is all yours.
Tom17LCFC Posted 23 October 2012 Posted 23 October 2012 Poor choice by Dougie and by Bolton, can only think that Bolton offered him a decent wedge.
RowlattsFox Posted 23 October 2012 Posted 23 October 2012 Manager's live by their decisions, and Dougie has certainly taken a risk. I think this shows he believes Palace are just on a purple patch at the moment and will soon return to mid-table. Bolton have just been relegated, they have the parachute payments so more money to spend. He probably won't be able to get them up this season but with next summer to build, he could make them a decent outfit next season. Think it's a risk from both parts really, because Freedman hasn't really proved anything yet.
z-layrex Posted 24 October 2012 Posted 24 October 2012 The Palace forum is ****ing hilarious, it's like they've all been dumped by their boyfriend.

Tom17LCFC Posted 24 October 2012 Posted 24 October 2012 http://www.cpfc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=236621 Interesting read a few of those posts are. Palace fans make a good point, if they can't trust a club legend, who can they trust?! Suppose that's what football is nowadays. Don't mind Palace as a club, would love to see them stay towards the top and watch Bolton drop further and further.

Tom17LCFC Posted 24 October 2012 Posted 24 October 2012 Meh, the bloke got a good job offer and took it. I would have done too. Fair, I'm sure many people would, trebled his wages they reckon, just shows where loyalty lies in the game though now.
z-layrex Posted 24 October 2012 Posted 24 October 2012 Fair, I'm sure many people would, trebled his wages they reckon, just shows where loyalty lies in the game though now. Loyalty? The Palace fans treated him like shit at the beginning of the season when they'd gone months without winning. Where's their loyalty?
Corky Posted 24 October 2012 Posted 24 October 2012 TalkSport was full of Palace fans gutted and Bolton fans near enough gutted or underwhelmed. Doog needs a good start. Dropping/selling/shoving Matt Mills might help.
