sphericalfox Posted 1 November 2012 Posted 1 November 2012 They are magic starts, not lucky stars. # pedantry stars* pedantry fail!
The Doctor Posted 1 November 2012 Posted 1 November 2012 Proper magic stars had faces, those were the days. One of my mates house-mates gave out money because he had no sweets and felt bad - What happened to telling people to piss off?
Guest MattP Posted 1 November 2012 Posted 1 November 2012 What happened to telling people to piss off? The criminal damage that follows on your house.
Danno Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 Load of utter shlt, only open the door to my Canadian neighbour's kids as they are all nice and would happily give if I was a kid. Don't get Halloween though, bit of a waste of time IMO
Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 An absolute ****ing nuisance, don't get too many around here but it's a right annoyance to have to stop the staff from their work, such that my Château Margaux will be more than a degree off room temperature and my 16oz ribeye steak will be very nearly medium-rare! Just so they can stop work to answer the door to feed lackaday gutter urchins. Pathetic.
Guest MattP Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 lol Actually only had two the whole night so it didn't end too bad.
The Doctor Posted 2 November 2012 Posted 2 November 2012 The criminal damage that follows on your house. They were 12, I doubt they could do that much.
Guest Bilo Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 So, two years on, what are FT's views on the Halloween twatfest now?
Fox92 Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 Same as what I said in the other thread. Still don't like it. It's like built as a major event for some reason in our Country now. It's an American thing essentially. That's all I'll say. Don't want to upset people by commenting on an old thread. Apparently even though this is a forum views can't be balanced.
Brenfox Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 Mine are the same I still detest the whole begging fest, however after getting nagged by the kids I'll reluctantly be taking them this year.
Unabomber Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 Might get some tangfastics for any spastics who knock on me door tomorrow.
marko Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 Might get some tangfastics for any spastics who knock on me door tomorrow. Nope. Get some megasours from Ye Olde Sweet Shop near St Martin's Square. They won't come around begging next year!
Corky Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 Commericalised, Americanised bullshit. My Mom agrees with that sentiment
Charl91 Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 It is commercialised, Americanised bullshit. On the other hand, the kids all really love it, and I loved it when I was a kid. So yeah, I'm all for it.
Unabomber Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 My Mom agrees with that sentiment So does my dud
RonnieTodger Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 So, two years on, what are FT's views on the Halloween twatfest now? Still shit, but should make for a good night on the town with it being Friday.
The Doctor Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 Trick or treat can **** off, but halloween is fine - costume parties are usually decent fun.
AoWW Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 Trick or treat can **** off, but halloween is fine - costume parties are usually decent fun. I agree - if you're 10.
Raj Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 Load of yankee crap...But the kids love it so i'll be taking them out knocking the doors around our turf....only cos i know some of the MILFY mums so it aint all bad!!
Freesolo Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 We used to get loads of Kid's knocking the door 20 or so i would just leave it with the missus she didn't seem to mind, just some harmless fun once a year but over the years its died down and now might get 2 or 3 kids coming round on Halloween, the missus still buys sweets but i always end up eating them at the end of the night. I think Parents are a lot more protective these days when i was a kid i used to go out with a few mates on our own dressed up and see 100s of kids about
Raj Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 Defo more concious of things nowadays as we never seem to get kids on their won...theres always an adult lurking around with them!!
Webbo Posted 30 October 2014 Posted 30 October 2014 Defo more concious of things nowadays as we never seem to get kids on their won...theres always an adult lurking around with them!!You should answer the door in a Jimmy Saville costume, that'll get rid of the little fvckers.Edit, Bilo made the same joke in the first post.
