sdb Posted 2 December 2012 Posted 2 December 2012 Home is good and I think a big team may have taken our eye of the main prize, so i'm satisfied. Hoping Brighton/Palace get their heads turned a little by their draws.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 2 December 2012 Posted 2 December 2012 Wonder if danns and gallagher will be betting
Happy Fox Posted 2 December 2012 Posted 2 December 2012 Oh FFS, oh well at least NP won't want us to loose this one again!
theessexfox Posted 2 December 2012 Posted 2 December 2012 Burton Albion WHO CAN PREDICT THE FUTURE? YEP, THATS ME
Jace Posted 2 December 2012 Posted 2 December 2012 Could be a bit of a blessing, don't think Pearson will be playing the same team this time and I bet we smash them
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 2 December 2012 Posted 2 December 2012 hahaha! well we wont take them lightly this time!
Bluetintedspecs Posted 2 December 2012 Posted 2 December 2012 Lmao second string out....I don't think so
Carl the Llama Posted 2 December 2012 Posted 2 December 2012 WHO CAN PREDICT THE FUTURE? YEP, THATS ME What'll the score be?
Fox92 Posted 2 December 2012 Posted 2 December 2012 Balls. Wanted a cup run this season, looks like it won't be happening.
theessexfox Posted 2 December 2012 Posted 2 December 2012 What'll the score be? 3-1 to us. Watch this space.
Guest MattP Posted 3 December 2012 Posted 3 December 2012 Like this, the Burton fans were quite vocal after the League Cup game saying that they would have beaten our first team as well. Nice they will have a chance to prove it.
indierich06 Posted 3 December 2012 Posted 3 December 2012 Time for a bit of revenge I reckon. Funny how these random fixtures line themselves up. I bet Nige and the lads will be bang up for this one, lay a few ghosts to rest.

I bet Nige and the lads will be bang up for this one, lay a few ghosts to rest. I'm already fascinated by the team selection for this one. With a challenging Christmas programme of league fixtures, some players will be jaded and needing a rest by the time this fixture arrives. Some are already desperately overdue some match-time for sharpness purposes. But NP must also know that the Harry Redknapp stuff probably was massively influneced by the result in this game earlier this season ........ so what will he do ???

I think he'll put out a similar team to last time, fringe players and players needing match time for fitness, peppered with a few first teamers, but he'll be telling them in no uncertain terms that anything other than a victory is unacceptable - all he'll have to do to fire up the players is show them the highlights from the last time we played them!

I hope you're right, as that, for me, is the right course of action. Don't buy into this 'revenge' rubbish. It's about doing what's best for the club. And getting match minutes into Futacs, Moore and James, goals (hopefully) into Vardy, rehabilitation into SSL is far more important than trying to rewrite history - which you can never do ! But attitude is vital. Somehow, I suspect he may not need to say much to the team before this one !
Soar Fox Posted 3 December 2012 Posted 3 December 2012 Pearson might not one but I wouldn't mind a replay. Tuesday night under the lights and I'm sure we'd take a good following.
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 December 2012 Posted 3 December 2012 He'd better put a decent team out, Burton made the point that they aren't to be under estimated in August. FA cup can be good money for us and we could do with some due to our failings in regards to financial fair play Bugger fitness all our strikers have been in and out of the team all season so they shouldn't be jaded, and our defence does not have enough decent depth to mess around with too much. Perhaps give Moore and Schlupp a game but I'd start Wes to be sure there are no repeats of last time. Midfield possibly make a few changes but only if the players coming in actually want to play the fixture and prove something, not play shambolically like some many of them did last time.

The thing is, we put out a team which should have comfortably beaten Burton last time, but we didn't turn up and they were bang up for it. I would put out a similar team this time and tell them to go and prove a point. Any side we put out should be more than capable of a comfortable win over this lot.
Corky Posted 3 December 2012 Posted 3 December 2012 Pearson will not want a repeat. That game also showed who is wanted in and around the club. Some played poorly and stayed, others went.

Unfit Whitbread, unfit SSL, Danns, Gallagher, James, out of sorts Waghorn and Schulp up front? With Whitbread, SSL and Waghorn in the team is sort of resembles the current first team but at the time they were not playing and they certainly didn't look like they were ready that night. I'd certainly prefer it to be a bit stronger. The spine of the team (Morgan Drinkwater Nugent) is missing.

I think the problem in that game was the poor attitude on display from some players in the team, a thoroughly unprofessional performance.
