davieG Posted 9 January 2013 Author Posted 9 January 2013 That's how much i'm looking for!!! Plus perks, don't forget those perky tips.
Corky Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 When you consider we are paying players like Beckford approx 30k a week.. Nugent at least 25k a week... and We are not the only big wage payers in this division.. I cant imagine how much Blackburn will be paying their 8m pound man.. Infact all the teams coming down will be having some players around or above the 20k mark.... Is it really that hard to believe we would be paying him that amount? He's a young lad with immense potential after all.... When you read that article the flipside of the coin is they lost out on a great player like him all because of one or two thousand a week ( their own words). No wonder they want to paint him in a bad light... to save face. Can you see Millwall paying a player £18/19k a week? That's why we are questioning the stats.
Yojoe36 Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 I couldn't care less really. If his goal per games ratio is intact in a month, then you can double his wages for all I care. Getting tired of these excuses they keep coming out with to appease the mob that turns up at The Den on a Saturday. I'd pay good money to see Wood score the opening winning goal. Fixed.
Jace Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Personally I reckon he's on about 8k a week. Can't see Millwall offering much over 5k per week to a player.
Harry - LCFC Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Fixed. Nah, there won't be a "winning" goal as such. I expect us to nail them, two goal winning margin at least!
kingfox Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Who cares, as long as he performs to his price tag and wages then that's fine by me. And so far, he is doing just that.
5waller5 Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Why on earth do posters on here find it hard to imagine us paying £20k a week, when they haven't got a clue what we are paying??? It's a Million quid a year for a player that's a 20 goal striker. Seems perfectly sensible money to me.
unreachable Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Typical Foxestalk thread where no-one has the slightest idea of any facts but still feel the need to post - myself included. Nevertheless in my worthless opinion £20,000 per week is cheap for a 20 goal a season striker.
Tielemans63 Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 I thought Steve Clarke (or maybe it was assistant) said in an interview that City were the only club that met the asking price? Don't think Millwall were ever serious bidders- think they're trying to make a show of CW to appease their fans.
indierich06 Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 It's a Million quid a year for a player that's a 20 goal striker. Seems perfectly sensible money to me. Is he? Jumping the gun a bit there mate.
shiv Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Is he? Jumping the gun a bit there mate. With 13 league goals halfway through the season I should hope so.
Guest shearfox Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Is he? Jumping the gun a bit there mate. He has scored 13 goals in 19 games I believe, it's safe to say even if he has a deep 20 goals is very likely...
Fox92 Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 I wouldn't think he is on 20k a week. Anyway, even if he is, we have more money to outbid a club like Millwall (that's no disrespect, but they arn't as wealthy as Leicester) in terms of the transfer offer and his contract offer. Plus, and I'm guessing Wood lives around Birmingham due to playing for West Brom here, but Leicester is closer to Birmingham than London. He might not even have to move (if he does live there).
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 That and "up to" I other words they have no idea. Exactly. That weekly wage of UP TO 20k will include stuff such as goal bonuses, appearance fees, win bonuses etc. Unless Wood has a blinder every week then he won't be taking home 20k. And if he does, well then we're getting value for our money!
stu Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 He has scored 13 goals in 19 games I believe, it's safe to say even if he has a deep 20 goals is very likely... Don't forget that FA Cup goals don't count though...
shiv Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Don't forget that FA Cup goals don't count though... he's got 13 in the league
Guest shearfox Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Don't forget that FA Cup goals don't count though... I didn't count them for that reason

Because financial fair play this season makes some of our supporters act eccentric and think irrationally.
5waller5 Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Is he? Jumping the gun a bit there mate. Like the others have already said ..... 13 goals in and it's early jan .... i reckon he'd be quite dissapointed to just get 20 from that start!
flowwolf Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 The next player they sign will be looking for 18/19K a week. And if they are as good as him it's worth it.
fleckneymike Posted 9 January 2013 Posted 9 January 2013 Why do football players still get paid weekly and paid amounts that are nice round numbers?
Guest Posted 10 January 2013 Posted 10 January 2013 We pay more than you, We pay more than yoooouuuu, We're Leicester City, We pay more than you!
