Are we beginning to burn out?

different mentality... 12 months ago we wouldnt have even got a point out of the watford game, this yr we came very close to taking all 3 after being 2-0 down

At first glance I thought this was a new thread for this year. I had a facepalm picture ready on standby! :D

Saturday had little to do with burn out, it was to do with someone putting 11 men behind the ball for 90 minutes. It was almost a carbon copy of the Forest game earlier in the season other than we got one back early rather than missing a penno.

One year on.

Let's hope it doesn't happen again

I think we all share that sentiment.

But only time will tell - I can but assume the club and the team have learnt their lessons from last season.

No. Blip in process. Will fvck Charlton over followed by Blackpool, Blackburn and whoever comes after that.

2nd place secured once more after Hull have looked after it for us for a few weeks.

lol!

I agree with those that say it's different this year, last year we would have gave up against Watford and not get a hard fought draw like we did.

You can see with the players after the equaliser that there is a togetherness and believe this season.

Come on boys keep it going, even I've got belief lol

Spot on.

Think last season not one team played like that against us. We were the masters of our own downfall with toothless performances.

The staff and players won't let it happen again. One player who will remain un-named has said to people around the club that they "bottled it" last season.

Who knows, I will tell you who, future Captain Shrapnel, but until he invents time travel he is not available to tell you, so why not let future Captain Shrapnel and future demon_dog worry about it, because present you and me have got a cracking against Charlton coming up.

Hey it's future Mark_w here. Present demon_dog was right.

Spot on. That wasn't burn out, that was an opposition actually doing well against us, albeit it wasn't pretty.

As I said in the 'Embarrassing' thread, there will be some more twists and turns this season. For example, I won't be at all surprised if we lose away to the Florists.

However, its time to stay composed, have faith and enjoy the rest of the season.

On par with my QPR to get relegated prediction.

I didn't actually mean we'd smash everyone from then on, guys....

I hope you can all see what I said was humorously worded to indicate that I was exaggerating on purpose. Nonetheless I did think we'd remain strong challengers for second spot, which I got wrong of course.

Why are you even bothered? It's done with now!

I think teams did start to put 5 in the middle all the time against us, but now many went as far as Forest and Watford with regards negativity. (Fair play to them, you gotta do what you gotta do).

I think a big difference now is you can bring on Phillips, Wood and Mahrez. Instead of the likes of Kane, Waghhorn, Gallagher, King... none of who are game changers particularly.

Even back then we were always good enough to break down a team that had five in the middle. They never really stuck everyone behind the ball like Watford did.

Agree with the sub situation. Very refreshing.

I disagree with you there pal. I do see King as a game changer. The perfect man to introduce into a team chasing a goal. I thought Pearson might do that on Saturday.

The others... completely agree. And Kane.. don't get me started. Amongst some excellent managerial decisions, the signing of Kane was a strange one.
