Leicester 3-0 Blackburn - Post Match Thread

Yep, he always has a bit of a joke & talks more freely with TV interviewers - or seemingly anyone other than Stringer

Stringer is a real hindrance for us fans... not only is his commentary awful at describing the action, even in comparison to someone like Jason Bourne who has no experience - but he can't convey any information from the manager to the fans.

His questions are frequently awful... and then he repeats them thinking 'it's for the fans' if I get an answer... when most of the time the sort of pushing he does is on private matters like an injury to a key player in the build up to tough games - it's obviously the sort of thing a manager wants to keep under his hat.

You can only answer the questions that are put in front of you though.

And most of the time stringers questions are crap

He's not a trained journalist and it's so blatantly obvious in every single thing he does. As an interviewer he is absolutely pathetic, as a commentator he fails and spends the whole time 'bantering' with Youngy, talking about the colour of player's boots and talking about his trip to the match on away days. I wouldn't be surprised if NP is sick of the bloke, he's an absolute joke and I think a lot of fans are sick of him too.

He seems like a really nice and likeable chap, and I'm sure that's what has kept in him in this job for so long, but as an interviewer and a commentator he is well below the required standard. It's not been as noticeable under the tenure of other managers, but Pearson does not suffer fools gladly and he's not afraid of letting people know that. Pearson is professional enough in his answers to Stringer, but if we actually got a professional in; someone with a bit more tact, who could build up a bit more rapport with the manager, then I'm sure we'd see a marked improvement in communication with local media from the club.

It's so refreshing to come on to a post match thread and read positivity more or less throughout. :scarf:

I don't think anyone really changes their mind, it is just that the negative knee jerkers have nothing to back up their arguments so don't post, those that were positive despite 2 defeats, are still positive and don't have their positive drowned out with petty arguments from negative knee jerkers.

How about realists and positive knee jerkers?

My perceptions haven't changed.

Last night was a great win.

However, this season we'll be celebrating or commiserating at the end based upon our AWAY form.

We now need to back last nights win up with a result against the tractor boys.

Absolutely agree with this. We obviously need to maintain our strong home form but the reason we fall back in to the play-off pack is our mediocre away form. We struggle for goals and wins away, you only have to look at the fact Nugent has only scored 2 or 3 times all season away. I do think we'll win on Saturday, but we also need to win half of our remaining away games to stand a chance of promotion.

You can stick your yawning smiley up your arse Col.

If I posted one of them every time one of your posts bored me, they would have run out.

If you could read, you would understand I am saying nobody's perceptions or opinions have changed, only that after a good result there is no new evidence to back up the arguments that "NP is shit", "our squad is crap" etc so those that think that don't post anything.

Talking about Geoff Peters, listened to him on Talk sport last night and one of the things he said was If we didn't get promoted this season we would have a new manager next season...... I personally hope not, we have made progress this season and IF we don't go up I would give NP at least another season to build the team we all want.

Slightly selective quoting. I didn't say we would. I said I expected that the owners would probably make a change if we didn't go up. I don't necessarily agree with that course of action but Nigel's not daft enough to know the owners will be looking at various options. Just thought I'd clear that up Manny.

It's that sort of talk/thinking that makes me fearful.

If we don't go up we'll have an enormously stronger base to build off.

Last summer marked the end of a period where the incoming manager had had to get rid of about 30 players in the short time he'd been here.

That sort of upheaval wouldn't be needed again and we'd go through a relatively stable summer of 4-6 out & 4-6 in.

We'd also have Wood for the whole season not just half of it & who knows maybe we could grab Keane on a season long loan & sign Kane permanently (if he does the business)

Drinkwater, Marshall, RDL, James and others who are about 20 will be another year experienced & will grow both as individuals but also improve the team in the process.

The absolute worse thing that could happen is throwing it all out the window & not turning just missing out on promotion - make the improvements and build to be well established top 2... throwing it all away to start again, with wholesale changes & a load of arrivals who play like misfits for half a season ensuring the sort of mediocre mid-table crap we had before NP put this team together.

Anyway, about 40 points still to play for, so it's nothing more than idle chitter chatter & conjecture... but it does feed the minds of reactive morons

Muchos gracias.

Very disappointing that the save isn't in there though... But they make up for it with the line "Chris Wood's 20th goal of the season, his 9th since signing from Millwall in January" :D

Who's the B'burn keeper? Makes absolutely no effort for any of the goals, and doesn't even seem bothered after they go in. I'd be right pissed if I was one of their fans. Such a contrast with Kasper who goes crazy if the ball even gets inside the box. :chant:
