cc_star Posted 11 March 2013 Author Posted 11 March 2013 An interview with Forest's Kuwaiti owner has been repeated on SSN today... He's banging on about Champions League Just shows you what a manager is up against, even if someone does an MoN-LCFC job, it may not be enough for them to avoid being sacked.
Corky Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Been rumours about this for a while. He'll get another job soon enough, had a very good couple of years.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 They'll go down now and owners fully deserve to go down.
Super_horns Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Adkins? Maybe...but not sure he'd want to work with overseas owners after his experience at Southampton!
darko2k7 Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Quite shocking that out of the last 9 clubs to get promoted, only 2 have kept their job the following season (Holloway & Allardyce and theirs even doubts about the latters future). Lambert quit and Rodgers went to Liverpool
Jimothy Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 I often wonder why Pearson never gets on the list of odds for jobs like this when managers like Freedman, Di Canio, and other young lower league managers do. I'm not saying I expect him to be favourite, but I'd expect him to have odds. As much as we moan about him, he's a decent manager and has always had clubs at the top end of their league. Have we got him on a golden handcuff deal or something?
The Doctor Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 McDermott may be an irritating cuntbag but that's a rather harsh sacking, what was the chairman expecting?
Ozwin Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 This is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. A club of their size should be ****ing grateful they have a shot at survival. Hope they go down now.
ScouseFox Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Pointless club and McDermott has always come across as a massive dickhead. Hope they go down.
sdb Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 33 days since he was named Premier League manager of the month Got a bad feeling we'll be saying something very similar soon
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Ridiculous decision, and why sack him no? Not much time left
Jaspa Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Credit where credits due, well done Big Sam Im guessing that crunch game against Villa was the last straw, McDermott obviously has some talent as a manager and that Reading team has been very well kept and built up over the years, its a shame he didnt completely cut it up there but he can definately be proud of his achievements and think he could well desearve another crack in the Prem. If people are gonna start coming out and calling for him to replace Nige, they have to take into consideration that Brian has been building that team up for some 3 years, you would need alot of patience to back him . . . . as for Nige
Leicesterpool Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 To be fair the same might happen to Nigel if he does get us promoted and we're sitting in the bottom three come march!
Jaspa Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Whos gonna replace him then? Advocaat(?), De Matteo or The Brolly I fink
Guest BlueBrett Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 I was a bit surprised to hear this but don't really understand why some seem to think it is so outrageous. They've lost 4 in a row and sit 4 points from safety in 19th with 9 games to go. Not really a shocker
iamafox Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Don't understand the McDermott sacking, he was doing everything he could to keep Reading in the Premier League, just like Adkins was for Southampton. I wouldn't be surprised if another foreign manager took over.
Kitchandro Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 I was a bit surprised to hear this but don't really understand why some seem to think it is so outrageous. They've lost 4 in a row and sit 4 points from safety in 19th with 9 games to go. Not really a shocker I think the opposite. I'm not surprised, I can't be after the kind of sackings we see now, especially recently. But it's very harsh. Maybe not compared to most modern sackings, but traditionally, it's harsh. With respect, they are a shit club and are punching above their weight even being in the top flight. In fact, traditionally they're a 2nd tier club at best. He did very well to get them up but they really cannot expect to not be in a relegation battle. It's not as outrageous as the Adkins sacking but that one was really disgraceful.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Imagine him in a band, bald old git. The glasses would be stupid
Jaspa Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Imagine him in a band, bald old git. The glasses would be stupid If that was the name of the band he might do alright
Langston Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 I think McDermott is a turd, and a boring one at that - but this is a disgusting decision.
kingfox Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Unfair, but they have been inconsistent, losing against any relegation rival at home isn't very good. Seems Di Canio is likely, at least that would then leave Adkins for us
Basingstoke Fox Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 I watched his interview after they lost to and he was basically just saying oh well, we'll keep trying and you never know we might end up having a chance. Okay, the club isn't the biggest and they probably aren't good enough to stay up but I was a fan, I would hope to hear something that shows abit more fight, something along the lines of they'll do whatever they can to stay up. They screwed up by not strengthening properly at any point this season. Then again, they do always try to stay within their means and don't spend alot. The parachute payments will do nicely for them too. I always thought they seemed happy enough to be a championship club and anything else was a bonus. I hope we're not in the same league next season though because they always bloody beat us.

Im sure their Russian owner is f'kin loaded mate, they were implying ambition by signing The Pog and that Portugese lad We'll see what theyre planning with the further appointment
