Bert Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Just seen on the football league site that Morgan and Wood have been voted as the 5th & 6th best players in the league.
Leicester Lass Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Morgan yes but Wood???? Strongly disagree with that Will mostly be down to his time at Millwall as well as the impact he made when he first signed for us. Yes he's gone off the boil since, but everyone in the Top 10 will have had a bad patch at some point in the season. He's still one of the Championship's top goalscorers.
Babylon Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Morgan yes but Wood???? Strongly disagree with that You are right, they should only just count the last 8 games and forget everything before that. Meaning the best players in the league are clearly the whole forest team.
Harry - LCFC Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Surprised Vydra's top. I'd have thought with all the hype about Zaha and Ince they'd be ahead of him.
Harry - LCFC Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Where's the list? Cannot find it. 1. Matej Vydra - Watford 2. Glenn Murray - Crystal Palace 3. Thomas Ince - Blackpool 4. Wilfried Zaha - Crystal Palace 5. Wes Morgan - Leicester City 6. Chris Wood - Leicester City 7. Craig Bellamy - Cardiff City 8. Mark Hudson - Cardiff City 9. Peter Whittingham - Cardiff City 10. Liam Bridcutt - Brighton and Hove Albion http://www.football-league.co.uk/flawards/news/20130328/league-managers-vote-for-players-of-the-year_2293338_2745549
Father Ted Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Tom Ince really isn't that good........ Nice to see Big Wes get the recognition he deserves, should be higher though.
ADK Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 I think Ince is great. Not sure Glenn Murray is that good although i suppose he is having a good season.
JonnyBoy Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 without sounding biased, i would definitely have had Morgan higher than 5th, and Wood with his recent lapse does not deserve 6th! would have Butland in their somewhere too
Libertine Dream Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Personally don't think either are top 10. Wouldnt have Murray 2nd either
StanSP Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Fair enough. Morgan is the best defender in the league and that's not even being biased. And I also would have had Hudson higher than 9th. Not sure how Bellamy gets there, either? He hasn't scored since his game against us...perhaps Sako should be there instead?

kingfox Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Thought Zaha would of topped that list, the way people bang on about him. While Bridcutt should be higher and Bolasie should replace Whittingham.
JonnyBoy Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Glenn 'penalty' Murray 2nd? something about Murray that i really don't like, i think its because he doesn't look like a footballer, along with Lambert for Soton' there's a bit of a shout for Knockaert to be in their too ?
leicesterisme Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 I think Ince is great. Not sure Glenn Murray is that good although i suppose he is having a good season. Only got 29 championship goals.
Corky Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Surprised Vydra's top. I'd have thought with all the hype about Zaha and Ince they'd be ahead of him. Best player in the world.
Super_horns Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Vydra won overall ofcourse..but he probably won't win our own POTS award! Might cme 3rd...behind Abdi and Chalobah.
foxer Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Vydra won overall ofcourse..but he probably won't win our own POTS award! Might cme 3rd...behind Abdi and Chalobah. Great.
Kitchandro Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 If it's based on this season then you can't argue with Murray being in the top 10. If it's based on how good they actually are he probably wouldn't get in my top 50.
Guest ttfn Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 Knockaert is a better player than at least 5 of those on that list. And I include Wood in that. Would probably only have Zaha, Morgan, Vydra, Hudson and Bellamy ahead of him. Maybe Ince and Whittingham. We've got a lot of individually really good players (Nugent can't be far off top 20 in the division, likewise Schmeichel) which makes our recent form even more disappointing.
Dan Posted 28 March 2013 Posted 28 March 2013 1. Matej Vydra - Watford 2. Glenn Murray - Crystal Palace 3. Thomas Ince - Blackpool 4. Wilfried Zaha - Crystal Palace 5. Wes Morgan - Leicester City 6. Liam Bridcutt - Brighton and Hove Albion http://www.football-...2293338_2745549 Whittingham The rest I think are fair.
