Grewks Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 Sacked by Sunderland. If he wants a job straight away the championship is his best bet... Thoughts?

cjslcfc Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 Wondered how long it would take for this to pop up. Personally don't think he will come back here
lcfcsnow Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 Sadly O'Neill has lost what he had back when he was with us, the amount of money he's wasted on strikers such as Wickham and Graham is especially frightening. I hope we've learnt through Pearson not to go back.
Tom17LCFC Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 He won't come back. Interesting move though, who can they realistically get?
Grewks Posted 30 March 2013 Author Share Posted 30 March 2013 Would absolutely love it. Guaranteed sell-out during his first game in charge, immense atmosphere no matter the results. Would be a huge decision for the Thai's.

Harry - LCFC Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 If O'Neill came (he absolutely will not by the way) then I honestly think the fans who want Pearson out wouldn't mind if we didn't get promoted. If we finish 10th with him in charge there'd be no ill feelings whatsoever.

MooseBreath Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 He used us before, by tempting the Thai's into sacking Sven before they came after him, it was all to keep his own name in the press, he never wanted the job. Hope he doesn't do it again. To be honest with the terrible job he has done at Sunderland, I'd rather keep Pearson. MON is a god among men, i'd rather keep it that way. StanSP Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 No thanks. It all won't be as rosy as everyone wants and expects, I think. Our club is in a totally different situation to the one it was back when he was last here. Also, leave a legend of the club be. I don't want him tarnishing his reputation here. Bit like cloughly when he was without his
One Arm Babba Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 NOW! Until this I would have stuck by Nigel. With 7 games left we need some Martin magic. If he is interested then it must happen.
Cropwellfox Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 He won't come back. Interesting move though, who can they realistically get? I know a guy, he's had some bad luck recently and might be glad of a change.... Seriously though Di Matteo? Solskjaer? Lennon?

linemakers Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 Heart says yes get him, head says no. Only thing, if he did come back and it went tits up it would ruin the history of ONeill and our club

stillwater Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 ONeil could have the same effect for us that Davis has had at Forest. 6 winns from here would be nice
Deucalion Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 I don't think we should let emotion be part of this. Regardless of whether he has been here before, whether he is a legend, or whatever, if there was a managerial vacancy and he was at all interested, we should try to employ him. I for one could stand the disappointment if he didn't live up to his previous spell.
fox ache Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 If our players need a new manager to motivate themselves for promotion to the Premier, they can just get in their £100,000 cars and fooook off !!!
SMX11 Posted 30 March 2013 Share Posted 30 March 2013 Rather keep Pearson, O'Neill's time has been and gone. It would only sour memories of him imo.
