DennisNedry Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 Frankie moved to within 1 goal of the Chelsea club record today. Do you think he'll equal or better it before the season ends, because the last I heard he is leaving the club at the end of this season. Another point, how many of his goals were penalties? I know they still have to be put away, but I guess about 50 of his 201 Chelsea goals have been penalties, Chelsea seem to get them every week and he rarely misses them. Makes his scoring record slightly less impressive in my opinion.
whoareyaaa Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 I would imagine at least 40 are penos but its still a great record for a midfielder, think he will get 2 more before the season ends. He has been consistent for years now and a top pro.
WeAreGoingUp Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 still a quality player. not as good as Stevie G but a top player never the less.
21st Century Fox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 He'd better hurry up if Chelsea TV is anything to go by.

Corky Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 Been a top player for years, wonderful goalscorer. Never understood the stick he gets, he doesn't come across as a bad person and his learnt from younger misdemeanours. There are far worse out there.
Guest Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 I hope he does it but do wonder if there's enough games left. Last game of the season, he's level and they get a penalty on 85 mins. You just know Benitez is such a willy puller hed keep him on the bench. I prefer him to Gerrard too - not so many long aimless Hollywood passes for England.
Parafox Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 Don't give a shit, he's up himself. Can penalties be counted as true goal scoring opportunities?
Jon the Hat Posted 28 April 2013 Posted 28 April 2013 Great player. Incredible fitness and consistency year after year.

Fox92 Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 Another fantastic product of West Ham's academy, lets not forget that, the academy of English football. He has been a top player for years now, especially in the PL. His goal tally is sensational for a midfielder. Doesn't matter how many are penalties, they still have to be scored, Le Tissier and even Ronaldo scored a lot of penalties for their clubs. Doesn't come across as a ****, and is never in the news for anything bad. Good pro. Don't prefer Lampard over Gerrard, because Gerrard is my favourite player, but I do like Lampard.
Corky Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 You still have to put them away. Getting a penalty isn't a guaranteed goal, just ask Kermo. If penalties were so easy to score then England might've gone further in tournaments. It is a skill to score penalties, it takes nerve and composure.
Haydos Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 Don't give a shit, he's up himself. Can penalties be counted as true goal scoring opportunities? Eh? Sounds like a nice little chip on your shoulder you've got there.
foxfanazer Posted 29 April 2013 Posted 29 April 2013 Incredible player and an even more incredible scoring record from a midfielder. So what if he scored a load of penalties. Stupid to suggest it is any less impressive
Manwell Pablo Posted 30 April 2013 Posted 30 April 2013 42 Have been pens. meaning more than 150 goals from open play, a fantastic record for a centre midfielder not matter which way you look at it. Penalty taker or not to become your clubs top goal scorer from centre midfield is highly impressive, I'd guess most club record holders for most goals probably were penalty takers..... Hope he manages it myself.

art924 Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 Bobby Tambling the current holder scored at least 35 of his goals in the then second division- Frank may have scored a lot of penalties but all his goals have been in the top flight, remarkable record really.

Well it's the club record in all competitions, so a few of Lampard's will have come against crap opposition, not a lot though. At least 3 came in one league cup game against City.
Swalker Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 Said it all the time and still do- he's better than Gerrard!
foxfanazer Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 Said it all the time and still do- he's better than Gerrard! I agree
ScouseFox Posted 2 May 2013 Posted 2 May 2013 Love a bit of Franky Lamps. Great player for 10 years. Hope he breaks the record. He's not, and never was, better than Gerrard though.
