Pearson to stay.

Truly depressing if this is the case.

Anyone old enough to remember the 2000/2001 season?

We were 4th in the Premier League, then lost at home to Wycombe in the cup. After that we lost 8 out of 9 in the league and instead of sacking Peter Taylor at the end of the season, we kept him. Opening day 2001/2002 humiliated 5-0 at home to newly promoted Bolton, and we never recovered.

Point is our run from February was relegation form as it was then, but too many didn't want to rock the boat. Pearson is fine if you are. Barnsley where Championship survival and occasional flirtation with the play offs is considered success. A club of this stature with the investment made it is unacceptable. Pearson will make a great career as a mediocre manager, but I dont want my team to be victim of his mediocrity.

If you were not around watching football 12 years ago I can appreciate why you may perceive Pearson as a success, he truly is not. League One... Norwich and Saints passed straight through this league and consolidated in the Premier League. Pearson has had 4 attempts at this division and failed each time. He remains the only Leicester manager to lose a play off semi final leg and tie, twice as a matter of fact, simply not good enough.

You don't recover from 3 wins in 19 matches, your fallibility has been exposed and respect lost.

eerr....sorry, run that by me again and this time include the stats detailing how many other managers have succeeded and how many  have failed to even get us in the play offs....that will give a more balanced view don't you think?

and yes i remember only to well the horror of Peter Taylor (jeez ......now you've  just made me remember Junior Lewis)

Really do have to question some peoples intelligence if they think getting out of league 1 at the first time of asking wasn't an achievement.

Seems the mentality of our fans at the moment is that we are this huge club that have a divine right to be in the premiership and anything less is an embarrassment. This is the reason we have become a bit of a laughing stock amongst opposition fans

I know it is all about individual opinions but Pearson struggled dreadfully last time.  He had excellent young players all knotted up with no confidence.  The decision at the Huddersfiedl cup game was pathetic and especially with the team playing so well.  His attitude in interviews mirrored the periods we have been through.  The fact is the players are good enough but not the manager.

A very reliable midlands journalist on Twitter just tweeted to say Pearson met with the board yesterday and was reassured his job was safe. Satisfies my concerns.

That's a text off my mate. If true I'll seriously sit back and enjoy the summer now whilst looking forward to next season in the knowledge that we do actually have some very decent owners.

I have complete and utter faith that Pearson will take us to where we want to be.

Cant be arsed with a debate, but who would be better? Take into account you'd want somebody who could utilise what is a cracking squad without causing too many disruptions thus putting us back another two seasons?

Roberto Di Matteo.

Martin O'Neill

Regardless NP is staying now so lets hope he delivers next season and gets us promotion.

Roberto Di Matteo.

This would be a MASSIVE coup, considering that he has won the Champion's League of all trophies.

No real surprise in this story, after all, if he was going to get the bullet it would have happened before now.

Presumably, the owners know what they're doing and what a change of attitude after the SGE debacle. Perhaps they've learnt a lesson.

So, no more stupid theories about who is replacement will be. That must be comforting for him!!

They're names of managers who clearly wouldn't come to Leicester. Any realistic suggestions?

The managers that would be realistic are:

Nigel Atkins.

Neil War Gus Poyet.

Do you mean Nigel Adkins who became Reading manager a couple of months ago?

Here's one Nigel bloody Pearson. It has now been confirmed the reality of another season of Pearson tactics, fall outs, long ball, substitutions has finally sunk in. Well that's ruined the summer for me. Watch the attendance fall as reality of that great continuity that many of you great fans strive for finally takes place. Yes let's settle for Pearson he's the man hip hip hooray can't bloody wait!

Sorry to break it to you lads but,

#lcfc statement: "we have lost Nigel in Thailand, Bangkok has him now. Don't worry Phil, Stu, Alan and Chow are looking for him"

I'm not going to get embroiled here in an pro/anti Pearson debate but if and let's face it we don't know for certain if this is correct, I'm glad that a decision has been made in this manner.

1 There was no knee jerk reaction to the play off defeat by the owners who appear to have taken a deep breath and a few days to think things over.

2 I'm glad that a decision one way or the other has been made in a short period of time. This gives the club time to plan properly for next season on a calm and measured manner.

There are some big decisions to be made and some difficult conversations to be had with some players. I've not completely got my head around the implications of FFP but even without that as a simple business we need to have a better balance between capital invested and on the field productivity. Too much money has been invested for too little return and any business cannot go in this manner for a prolonged period.
