ealingfox Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 WE WANT YOU TO STAY, WE WANT YOU TO STAAAAAAAY, NIGEL F. PEARSON, WE WANT YOU TO STAY.
smudger63 Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 Some of us have more sense than to judge a football manager on three months rather than over an entire season. In which case you will have been extremely unhappy with the sacking of Paulo Sousa after about 10 games then, and also Sven, who of course was never actually given a full season. If we do indeed keep Pearson as manager, i hope he proves me wrong, but this has all the signs of the abysmal end of season run we had with Peter Taylor, who the club also kept faith with, only for the previous end of season form, to carry into the next season, which even after the sacking of Taylor, early the next season, still resulted in our relegation. My fear is that 10 or 15 games into next season we will be well off the pace, at best, and the owners will have to sack Pearson, and another wasted season will ensue, as the new manager tries to put his stamp on the side, while trying to play catch up. In the end, my opinion counts for nothing, the only opinion that matters is the owners, and if they want to keep Pearson then fair enough, but i think they will be regretting it come november.

smudger63 Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 WE WANT YOU STAY, WE WANT YOU TO STAAAAAAAY, NIGEL F. PEARSON, WE WANT YOU TO STAY. Why? Are you happy with 3 wins from the last 18 games, which is relegation form.
Nod.E Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 Why? Are you happy with 3 wins from the last 18 games, which is relegation form. Yeah you're right, that definitely means he will definitely replicate that exact form next season so he should definitely get the sack. Football is really predictable, and a manager maintains the same form throughout their careers. Oh wait, if that was the case, we'd have continued our form first half of the season and we'd have been promoted through the automatics. Have some fvcking perspective.
Babylon Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 That kind of sense was also used when it was decided to keep Peter Taylor after the previous season had ended with a relegation form run. Did Peter Taylor get the club to finish higher than it has done over the previous 2/3 seasons? Declaring this situation anything close to the Situation under Taylor is ridiculous, if anything Sven spending millions and not once troubling the top six has more echos of the Taylor over spend debacle than anything Pearson has done.
ealingfox Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 Why? Are you happy with 3 wins from the last 18 games, which is relegation form. Nope, nobody was happy with that run, so change that record because it's a very boring and idiotic one. It's a classic boo-boy response, framing the question in such a way. But I am happy with: A manager who can improve results whilst trimming the squad and wage bill. A manager who has given us one promotion and two play-off finishes (both spoilt by matters out of his control) in his 3 full seasons. A manager that promotes youth, discipline and hard work. A manager that is capable of putting us in contention for the top 2 (For at least two thirds of a season thus far anyway) A manager that gives us more honesty and integrity, and fits in a lot more with how I see our identity as a Club. A manager that doesn't give much away, does business in an efficient and low-key way, and doesn't pander to tinpot local media or provide shallow soundbites and cliches. A manager that is dedicated to our Club, and wants success for it as much as any of us.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 Which I do agree with, however he hasn't put that on a public forum has he, it's been put on here from his Twitter account it was not a statement he intended to put on a public forum for you all to believe as gospel so it's a little unfair to accuse him of misleading you by saying that, you were never ment to see it! He's built his Twitter following on the strength of what he used to be able to post on here... the two therefore intertwine somewhat, intentionally or unintentionally. But of course were he to set-up a new Twitter account distanced from the 'insider' tag he would have a fraction of the followers. And were he to not post 'insider' stuff then he would lose the standing and followers he has on Twitter at the minute.... Hence the conundrum he is in! The "I never say I'm an insider/I only post what I'm told" malarky when he's continually posting cryptic statements on Twitter and feeding off those who take the "Leave him alone! Thanks for the info Bert" line wore thin with me a long time ago. It's simple: if you want to be free from the criticism and the flak set-up a new Twitter account so that those who follow you for being you can do so and so that those who follow you hoping you're an 'insider' aren't continually chugging whatever mysterious stuff you put out there based on formerly guided, but now very much mis-guided, trust.

I blame Wellens Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 Really worried that Pearson is staying. Not looking for people to agree or disagree with me. In my opinion and for many reasons I would not want him as our manager next season. With no announcement, it looks like he is staying. REALLY GUTTED. Got my season ticket and will support but worried about another season of disappointment:-(

Happy Fox Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 Not a big fan of Pearson. Would wanna a new man in ASAP IF there was better to replace him!! But is there?? Yes there are better managers than NP, but it is a question of whether we would be able to attract them or if they want to come to our club.

Got my season ticket and will support but worried about another season of disappointment:-(Err... First of all, where were you when we were REALLY shit (a few seasons ago)? Also, does your season always start in February? You and all the other Pearson haters (and you really don't like the guy for whatever irrational reason) may want to check out self-helping groups that can assist you with your phase(s) of mourning. Other than that, cheer up. Things can only get better. And they will.
