bovril Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 In the second gif above it looks like it might have taken a nick off Gouffran. If a guy is standing in the middle of the six yard box then he is surely interfering with play.
Haydos Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 I don't blame referees, I blame the offside rule which has become ridiculously convoluted. Just make it daylight again, goals, goals, goals. It's not really a problem though is it? How often does it actually cause an argument like this? Personally I think it's much better this way, no stupid penalisations for players that aren't interfering. How would you change it?

I think that would be more fair.

Maybe say they are only interfering if they actually touch it. I think that would be more fair. Will it? That's the whole point, you can be interfering without touching it. Would you be happy with players standing in front of the keeper during open play?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 I had Suarez FGS will the bet count? I assume the first was an og?
davieG Posted 12 January 2014 Author Posted 12 January 2014 The biggest point here is that it's a massive reason why refs should, when required give an after match review/answer as to why they made a particular decision. Some might say at the time of the event especially controversial decisons.
purpleronnie Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Stoke now level 2-2, cracking game, and its on sky sports, crazy.
marko Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Stoke now level 2-2, cracking game, and its on sky sports, crazy. 6 goals already on "Super Sunday" with the possibility of more to come - Murdoch will be rising the subscription prices before full time at this rate.
Corky Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Best fans in the world raising the roof at the Britannia. Haven't come as empty seats this week.

I think it will simply make things more clear. Of course they will be interfering, but is that enough to deny someone a cracking strike?

Of course they will be interfering, but is that enough to deny someone a cracking strike? In my opinion, yeah. You'd get 2 or 3 players just standing in front of keepers at a free kick, it would get silly. When was the last time there was a controversial one? I don't really think there's that much of a problem.
Brainy Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Wicked deflection, defensive balls up and a penalty that never should have been
RowlattsFox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Why are defenders so stupid, always throw a leg at the player and give them an opportunity to go down. All Wilson has to do is Shepard him.
Kitchandro Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Stoke haven't changed a bit. Ok they've scored 2 good goals but they've been absolute shite and have just resorted to taking out Suarez and his teammates whenever they take them on. The ref is letting them get away with it too. No doubt Hughes will blame the result on the ref if they lose as usual. I'm not sure why Quinn is trying to make out that was a soft penalty.
cambridgefox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 To be honest I have really enjoyed watching Liverpool this season, when they have been on.They look so good on the attack and Suarez love him or hate him is the best striker in the world at the moment.
Stadt Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 As good as Suarez is I don't think he turns up for the big games very much like his teammates.
RowlattsFox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Great game, defending been shambolic. Especially from stoke.
Brainy Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 19 goals in 3 Sky games (including the 2 FL games and excluding the Manchester games)
Bert Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 19 goals in 3 Sky games (including the 2 FL games and excluding the Manchester games)So you could've just said 23 goals in 5 sky games....?
