Ashes 2013

For me Finn as got to go he's looking too clumsy.

As well as the fact Bresnan can bet as well as bowl.

Depends what pitch they ask for. If it's hard and pacey with bounce, give Finn another go. Anything like TB though and Brezzer gets the nod.

The dry weather might already mean we'll get a dry, flat pitch like the last few at Lord's.

What a test. Brilliant.

Got two tickets sorted for Saturday but struggling for Sunday.

Pricing is ridiculous, £185 each for Sat but the Sunday ones are going for £400 quid plus if you want a decent seat.

I'd happily pay £120 for this Saturday or Sunday, but with prices online starting at £240 it's a (very) rich man's game now.

Revised plan is to sit in a nearby pub watching the game and periodically go back to the ticket office to see if they've had any returns. Made it into a session of the NZ test that way for £15, but seems speculative for an Ashes test in the blazing sunshine. If worst comes to worst I should have a nice day in the pub watching the cricket.

Cracking test match, gutted we didn't take our chances. Bring on Thursday, same team except got to get rid of Cowan 2 very poor dismisals from him

Harris for starc and Warner for Cowan would even things up a little I think

Things to dislike about the Englishmen
1) Doctored the pitch to suit bowlers
2) Resorted to Bodyline when they couldn't get the kid out
3) Celebrated like they'd got Bradman when they got him short of a deserved hundered.
5) Insisted the kid should have been given out stumped when he clearly shouldn't
6) Whinged almightily and blamed the Australians (somehow) when their own technology failed (according to Trott anyway, but who would believe an Englishmen after this test?).
7) Failed to walk on the second most embarassing umpiring decision ever
8) Batted like a bunch of Boycotts for a whole day scoring 160 runs (almost)
9) Jumped up and down like a bunch of girls when Hawkeye dismissed another Aussie in an apparent technical malfunction
10) Even with a doctored pitch and a pretty crap opposition their two star bowlers could hardly get a wicket 4th day.
11) Anderson leaves the field after his spell for a bit of a rescucitation in the change room. Please Ricky be quiet, you know they are not cheats.
12) Stuart Broad attempts to save the nation by pretending his boot is on fire in order to be first to lunch. In his honour royal baby has been named Stuart the First, King of the cheats.
13) Despite the fact that he can't get a wicket on a pitch especially doctored for him Graeme Swan still believes he is Elvis with his collar and his shades. Thinks the DRS has given the Aussies suspicious minds.
14) Paid Umpire Dar some ridiculous amount of money so that he doesn't care if he is making a complete goose of himself, no doubt for the rest of the series.
15) Will win series through masterly use of the DRS for the first time in history

The Charger for Cowan will be the only change. Warner is in Africa getting match practice so he is unlikely to play.

Barmy Army lyricists are untouchable in the sporting world.

Can't remember the one they did for Trott to the tune of Only Fools and Horses but it was class.

Brad Haddin, I knew I hit it, now hopefully this will end all of the aussie calls of cheating and abuse for broad. Haddin was out fact! Broad didn't walk but neither did Haddin end of story onto Lords

There is a difference between hitting the cover off something and a very slight nick. It's more Aleem Dar that i'm agrieved at than Stuart Broad, how you can have the best view in the house and miss that is beyond me.

There's no difference really. They both hit it. They were both out. They both knew they were out. Neither walked. Only difference is Clarke didn't master the review system like Cook, so when Haddin tried to "cheat", as the Aussies put it, he got found out with the use of DRS.

Mastering the DRS lol

I'll put it simply for you one was a howler of a descion and the other one was a close call it which took a couple of minutes to review. You never (except for Gilly) walk on extremly close descions......Broads wasn't a close descion.

I also love it when the shoe is on the other foot.

I don't see why Australians are still moaning a day before one of the biggest Test matches they've played in, in recent times. Get on with it, what's happened has happened.

I wasn't posting through the first Test but I can tell you all now, I would never have walked if I was Broad, why should he have? Umpires are paid to make the decisions, they said he wasn't out, shame Michael Clarke was so quick to waste his reviews.

Agar should of been out stumped on 6, goes onto make another 92 runs and the extra runs Hughes made, was there this much of an uproar over that which could of been a very costly decision? No.

I love all this drama and we still have another 4 Tests!

Think the Aussies (players) have made a good account of themselves so far, both on and off the pitch. Can't see the whitewash that was predicted before the series started.
