ScouseFox Posted 17 July 2013 Posted 17 July 2013 Mastering the DRS I'll put it simply for you one was a howler of a descion and the other one was a close call it which took a couple of minutes to review. You never (except for Gilly) walk on extremly close descions......Broads wasn't a close descion. I also love it when the shoe is on the other foot. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/article-2116812/Graeme-Swann-blast-Sri-Lankan-cheat.html Laugh all you want but Cook understood and used it superbly, Clarke reviewed every decision he could as early as he could and paid quite badly by having none left when there were actually debatable calls (not even debatable in Broad's case!)
Uncle Albert Posted 17 July 2013 Posted 17 July 2013 Think the Aussies (players) have made a good account of themselves so far, both on and off the pitch. Can't see the whitewash that was predicted before the series started. Can see the rain in Durham being their saving grace..
Leicesterpool Posted 17 July 2013 Posted 17 July 2013 I hate it when we play at lords! we've got a terrible record there!
Bobby Hundreds Posted 17 July 2013 Posted 17 July 2013 There is a difference between hitting the cover off something and a very slight nick. Nonsense.

He is a brilliant reviewer, they whacked a stat up the other saying he gets just under hhalf right which is absolutely incredible. Prior has first shout, then bowler. If they both agree it's over 50% out Cook reviews. Aussies just seem to be going on emotion rather logic and common sense on it.

Cook didn't waste his when a player nicked it behind he reviewed it Clarke couldn't.
marko Posted 17 July 2013 Posted 17 July 2013 There is a difference between hitting the cover off something and a very slight nick. It's more Aleem Dar that i'm agrieved at than Stuart Broad, how you can have the best view in the house and miss that is beyond me. Behave! Both hit it, both knew they'd hit it, neither walked; absolutely no difference in reality. I have no problem with either standing their ground as it's up to the umpire to give them out. And, with the exception of Gilly, the only time an Aussie walks is when there are no stumps left standing.
Corky Posted 17 July 2013 Posted 17 July 2013 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/cricket/defenders-stuart-broads-refusal-walk-2058443 Yes Ollie, Broad refusing to walk is comparable to Lance Armstrong's antics?

Guest ttfn Posted 17 July 2013 Posted 17 July 2013 http://tickets.lords.org/index.aspx Single seats available now. Thanks for this. Managed to pick up a restricted view seat for £40, which I am pretty chuffed with. I'm led to believe all I'll be missing out on is the big screen and the scoreboard.

Shoe Seller Posted 17 July 2013 Posted 17 July 2013 Don't understand the fuss, just make some new ashes?? Or learn to share and share alike??
Corky Posted 17 July 2013 Posted 17 July 2013 Ollie Holt is the most moronic Journo in sport. Was a pathetic article. I've made my thoughts on Broad, but he did something that plenty of other players do. Does that make it right? I don't know, but comparing it to Armstrong is ridiculous.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 17 July 2013 Posted 17 July 2013 I don't see why Australians are still moaning a day before one of the biggest Test matches they've played in, in recent times. Get on with it, what's happened has happened. Don't get confused with the Aussie Media and the Australian Team, The Australian team let it go almost immediatley Boof wouldn't of let them dwell on it. Can see us being on the end of an innings plus defeat in this test, can't rely on our tail to make the bulk of the runs again. I think we played a hell of a lot closer to our best and you guys were miles off yours. Anderson and Broad will rip thru us on a quicker wicket (Which i believe this one to be).

theessexfox Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 Twitter says Starc and Cowan out for Harris and Khawaja.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 Not surprised about Cowan. I think Starc's a better bowler than Harris though. What odds on him getting injured this game?
Simmo86 Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 Bresnan in, Finn out. Khawaja and Harris in, Cowan and Starc out. England win toss and will bat, bat, bat and bat
leicsmac Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 500+ please, no excuse. Weather is good and pitch is a batsmans paradise. Can see it being the same for both sides though unfortunately, so this may well end up a draw.
Corky Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 Yes, had enough "excitement" in the First Test. Ruthless innings and 150 win this time
Guest MattP Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 Bat all day. Lovely to see her majesty taking the time to come and see the players as well, what a huge boost that must be before going out to play.
Swarles Barkley Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 Anyone know why we didnt start at 11:00? Edit: delay cuz they are meeting the queen. Amazing, Even when its sunny the cricket has a reign delay
