Guest Col city fan Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 Right so that's a reason to get rid? You may not have noticed but we've been utter gash in the team with King playing in the centre many many a time. If you want to blot out from your memory that he actually played rather well for a fairly big chunk of the season that's up to you. But to keep grasping at a couple of games towards the end of the season when King actually turned up, when he's was inconsistent as Drinkwater for the most part it's a bit hypocritical. Good post Babs. To simply dismiss Drinkwater and reify King is ridiculous. Both can serve a purpose to the team and both can be good, or bad on the day.
JasonBourne1986 Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 Then why wasn't he playing at Leamington alongside Wellens? He isn't injured as far as I am aware. After the game, Pearson told us Drinkwater had a family issue to attend to.
Leicester_Numan Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 first half of last season Drinkwater was better than James and we were on fire and even reached top. Second half of the season James was better than Drinkwater but we started a terrible run and even went out of the playoffs. Drinkwater was more key for us last season than James IMO Agree with most of that but James was out injured for that bad run and our form picked up when he came back in
gazfox9 Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 The way I see it, financially keeping Drinkwater over Danns makes more sense. However, we've tried offloading Danns, and it appears nobody wants him, hence, if we're stuck paying him we may as well use him. If as suspected, NP may be considering a 3 5 2 this season, lets not forget Marshall and Knocky are more than able to play centrally. In fact on their days, they'll be matchchangers. I'm more than happy to see Danns given another chance, as we've seen what he can produce (ie Direby away11/12).
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 He still isn't living in Leicester so i don't imagine Pearson is too pleased about that..
Walshy5 Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 Drinkwater spat his dummy out when dropped last season and as a result had a big fallout with pearson.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 I think some people forget how crucial he was to the team at one point. Does anyone remember the detailed thread about what he brings to teams? At the end of last season he wasn't in form, he just needs to recover from this. However saying that, I still rate the pairing of James & King above him.
Leicester Lass Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 Drinkwater spat his dummy out when dropped last season and as a result had a big fallout with pearson. Did he headbutt Pearson?
Bluetintedspecs Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 DD was a pivotal member of the team for a good chunk of the season,I really do not understand where all the hate has come from? Fickle beyond belief
Jimmy Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 After the game, Pearson told us Drinkwater had a family issue to attend to. good to hear that Nige hasn't just shut him out then
jock2612 Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 Doesnt NP still live in Sheffield! He still isn't living in Leicester so i don't imagine Pearson is too pleased about that..
Strokes Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 DD was a pivotal member of the team for a good chunk of the season,I really do not understand where all the hate has come from? Fickle beyond belief I've not seen hate, just people not rating him.
Dan Posted 14 July 2013 Posted 14 July 2013 Can't believe people still want Danns here. Can't pass, no physicality, gash touch. I'd sooner have someone who 'can only pass backwards' (which is a myth anyway) in Drinkwater than someone that shadows the ref and can't trap a ****ing ball for toffee in Danns, especially considering we're paying god knows how much for the privilege. Hallelujah. Most over-rated player at the club along with Beckford. Danns gets such a bad rep from our fans. He was our best midfielder season before last and before last season he was being touted in the captaincy debate with Wes. you are joking surely.
Swiss_tony Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 But to keep grasping at a couple of games towards the end of the season when King actually turned up, when he's was inconsistent as Drinkwater for the most part it's a bit hypocritical. Hang on a sec. Isn't that what you do when somebody complains the bad run was from feb-may??
fleckneymike Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 I'm in the 'I never got the fuss' category. We have to trim the wage bill and he, along with a few others, falls into the dispensable pile.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 I think he has been decent a few times I've seen him and not so good on a few other occasions. I would keep Drinky personally
5waller5 Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 I think he's frustrating ..... Clearly has ability - he ran the midfield for Barnsley against us .... And occasionally really turns up for us ... but not often enough.
indierich06 Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 I'd much rather have him in the side than Danns. A much better player on a much lower wage. The sooner we get rid of Danns and the other big earners who are surplus to requirements, the better.
Fox42 Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 I kinda see why Pearson wants to get rid of him now. Not because he wants to, he has to. Which is easier to sell for a million, DD or Danns?
Narborough_fox Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 "Danny Drinkwater has also travelled with the squad after missing Friday's game for family reasons" http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/150713-pre-season-continues-in-austria-914901.aspx
Joshy97 Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 The Lcfc website has said Drinkwater was out due to family reasons
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 I kinda see why Pearson wants to get rid of him now. Not because he wants to, he has to. Which is easier to sell for a million, DD or Danns? No one would be stupid enough to pay £1,000,000 for Drinkwater!
dpjfox Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 hes in Austria with the rest of the squad (Danny has a lot more positive attributes than negative imo)
Fox92 Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 His dad has been involved in an accident. Pearson confirmed on football forum just now.
Babylon Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Hang on a sec. Isn't that what you do when somebody complains the bad run was from feb-may?? What?
