Do you like the hot weather ?

Weather here has been fantastic for nearly 3 weeks now. British people seem to have to moan about everything. I would love to have this weather every day of the year. You can do so much more, and stay out in the evening for ages. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world when it's like this everyday!

Nah, can't stand the rain and grey, and HATE the snow. I'd compromise and have an autumn for a month maybe.

I'd sell december, Jan and Feb and buy three new months to go between July and august. Three properly summery hot months, leaving just enough cold to remind you why you love the heat.

A summer of this is fine but for a full year? No thanks. One of the benefits of the UK is the fact it has 4 seasons.

Usually yes, but last year we went from Spring, skipped Summer straight to a massively wet (and hail-stormy) Autumn which started in about June, went Arctic conditions from November which lasted until about May. Then we had about 2 weeks of typical damp Spring and **BANG** we're in the middle of a heatwave.

I honestly can't remember a spell of hot sunny weather which has lasted this long in the last 10 years, and forecasters are saying it's looking to remain like this until the end of August

Love it when i'm not at work hate it when i am, the fact that my office is the only one WITHOUT air con in the whole building is probably the reason way. Did just rock up in shorts and t-shirt today though and my boss looked me up and down and said 'fair enough' no idea why employers would make you wear shirt and trousers if you were just in an office and not facing customers? surely if you are comfortable you will work more?!

Normally love it, even enjoy destroying myself by running in it. However it's no fun at all when you're in the middle of a dissertation

I love it, brightens everyone's mood and I love having a few beers in the garden.

Hate trying to sleep in it though, near on impossible.

Don't like it. I can stand it for a day or two, but it's knanckering for working in. I'm happy between 16-22 C, get past 25 and I'm gasping. Much prefer a crisp bright winters day all wrapped up than a scorching hot sun where the next thing I will have to take off is my skin.

I love it even more so because its been 7 years since we had anything like this spell of weather.

Unluckily for the people who don't like it, the models are showing a Spanish plume could arrive in the coming week which would send temperatures into the mid 30s and with the ground as dry as it is. If it sticks around a few days, the record temperature could be broken and it would all end at the end of next week with a bang and some intense thunderstorms. That's all out of the reliable timeframe at the moment though.

Do like a good thunderstorm

20-25 is nice, especially with a slight breeze, but this heat is just stifling for me. Getting to sleep is a pain in my sweaty arse and for me it is actually unpleasant to stay in the sun with no wind for an extended period of time.

Doesn't seem so long since that ****ing snow! I love the heat, even though working in it is uncomfortable I'd rather look outside and see sunshine than rain.

It's something about heat in Britain that seems to make it worse, just seems far less enjoyable than when abroad and I don't know what it is.

You're not on holiday. When it's hot and you're on holiday you can do what the fúck you want. Get in the pool, walk around almost naked, sit down for hours on end doing nothing.

At home you've still gotta get up, go to work, cook, play football, and try to sleep.

Love it, It makes me alot happier, alot more chilled out, alot more active, I actually prefer to train in heat, I need no motivation whatsoever for work, training - running, cycling, gym, I eat healthier, some may be laughing at those reason and asking why the weather, sun and heat make that much of difference, genuinly, I don't know, I can't answer that but all I can say is the crappy weather we get during 90% of the year makes me feel miserable, downhearted, lacking of motivation big time, I get pissed off at the slightest thing and sometimes almost depressed, all of which I blame and point towards the weather because as I said when the sun's out and the heat is there my mood and lifestyle changes totally, I think I have SAD.

I slag England off alot, I'm not shying away from that, alot of people know I think Australia rules the world, but when the weather is like this there really isn't alot wrong with England, the climate for 50 weeks of the year (On average - if you're lucky) is what's wrong with England.

Absolutely love it, but hey, keep it quiet on the subject of weather, purpleronnie doesn't like it. I'm not even sure if i'm allowed to comment on the subject tbh.

Starting to resent the hot weather now.

- Can't sleep at night

- Sweating like a bitch means loads of showers and loads of clothes to wash.

- Saps energy and motivation at work

I can see that it has it's drawbacks. I mean it doesn't matter how many times I shower on days like this, I'm just sitting here and sweating like a pig. I stink like a polecat and feel all sticky. And when I'm trying to sleep it's the same.

But when you've got time on your hands it is nice, especially if you're actually doing something like chilling with mates, having a barbeque, going to the park. I'm even happy to play a bit of footy in it for a short while. Don't like laying doing nothing though, and I can't concentrate on reading in this kind of heat.

It's actually the brightness which is the main good thing about it though. I'm sure it's scientific fact that sunlight makes you feel emotionally better than darkness. It definitely makes a difference to my mood when everything is bathed in sunlight the world looks so much nicer. I hate looking outside and seeing a dull, dreary looking sky.

I'll take a bit of sweating if I can be in an upbeat mood.

Is it just me or is this heat knackering?

I've come home from work the last two nights and just flopped. Literally struggled to get anything much done or even cook my evening meal.

Unless you're very well off though you don't have a pool you can jump into anytime you like at home.

There are people I know who've emigrated to Oz for the better weather. They don't realise that they're not on holiday there and still have to work!
