Exactly, it's almost as if he doen't know what a psychopath is! A group of empathetic people working as a team would probably have a better chance of surviving as a group. Being empathetic doesn't mean you're afraid to get your hands dirty or be ruthless to a necessary degree (a psychopath would go further.)
