1972 Fox Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Even though we have not played particularly well yet this season and there has been a shortage of goals, I think we should be good enough to beat Birmingham this Saturday. Forest do not play Watford until Sunday, so if we win, we may be top of the League on Saturday night depending on a couple of other results. Thoughts? COYB!
Guest Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 My thoughts are it's far too early to get hysterical about whether we're top or bottom. As do the majority of people on here I'd guess. Chill out and maybe analyse where we are and what we're doing in a couple of months.
kingfox Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Thoughts? Knockaert will get shot, we will have 15 minutes added on time. So the game won't finish by 5pm.
Mark_w Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Thoughts? Knockaert will get shot, we will have 15 minutes added on time. So the game won't finish by 5pm. If that happens now, you're going to be the prime suspect. Is it worth it...?
shade Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 it could quite possibly be the easiest ten games coming up...sorry wrong thread.
Matt Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Great, I'd certainly rather be top than bottom, however, it'll only be 4 games in, there is a long way to go, if we go top, we'll be expected to be stay there. Like I say it'd be great, fantastic but in the grand scheme of things, this early in the season in means fuck all. While you could argue it'd boost confidence, I fear it'd add pressure, highten expectations (When expectations weren't as high going into this season) and untimately end badly like last season. Hopefully we do go top on Saturday, hopefully we stay there all season, all i'm saying is if we do, lets all keep grounded, not get too excited, not put pressure on the team, e.t.c. Stay calm. (And no, I'm not doing that incredibly annoying Stay Calm and.... thing, I'm simply pleading with people to stay calm should we go top)
Xen Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Reading were 23rd after 6 games a couple seasons back, and ended going up as champions. In other words, form at the start of the season means f all. It'd be nice to be top, but doesn't need threads posting about it (or threads about potentially going top... ) until it's later in the season. October at the earliest.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Does anyone seriously look at the table in this league of all leagues, before say, November-December?
ealingfox Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 I think we would all do well to remember that threads like this/on-the-pitch title celebrations/getting 30 points from the next 30 etc were the direct and sole cause of our miserable run last season, so let's all just hold back on them.
Renart Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Everybody form an orderly queue please: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvPugcb7QGE
RowlattsFox Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 We were top after Brum game last season as well. Irrelevant but will still be nice to be top.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Being top means nothing in August, absolutely nothing. How many teams currently in the top six will still be there in May? Very few I'd wager. That being said, a good start will give the team's confidence a boost after the horror show at Watford in May.
C-man Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 Being top means nothing in August, absolutely nothing. How many teams currently in the top six will still be there in May? Very few I'd wager. I actually reckon four of the current six will be in there in May.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 I actually reckon four of the current six will be in there in May. I can see Forest being a bit of a busted flush, Blackpool and Burnley will be nowhere near and QPR could go either way. Watford are likely to be there or thereabouts come the end of the season, mind.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 We could well go top. The crowd will sing "We're Leicester City, we're top of the league" for the last few minutes of the game. Then we have to maintain it for 9 months... That's the tricky bit We were top of the Premier League for a little while once, didn't count for much in the long run though
ramadaone Posted 20 August 2013 Posted 20 August 2013 What did the league table look like this time last year ? Haven't looked but guess it didn't end well for one or two teams
