Simo86 Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Ian Stringer â€@StringerSport2m #BBC Radio Leicester understand #lcfc have signed Polish defender (RB/CB) Marcin Wesilewski on a 1 year deal. 60 caps Poland - Beast
georgec Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Not convinced we needed strengthening in this area of the pitch.
MrSpaM Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Not sure he even exists according to google! is this an academy signing?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Not sure he even exists according to google! is this an academy signing? WAS not WES (ilewski)
Les-TA-Jon Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Fairly low risk signing - is it really a problem? We've just signed an international, experienced defender with 60 caps. On a free. For a year. What's the worst that can happen?
shen Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Not sure he even exists according to google! is this an academy signing? That's because it's Marcin Wasilewski. He's anything but an academy signing! Nearing retirement more like...

MrSpaM Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Cheers people! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcin_Wasilewski Suppose it's pretty decent cover if Wes or Liam get injured (touch wood)

muzzy1981 Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Not convinced we needed strengthening in this area of the pitch. I tend to disagree beyond Moore and Morgan we are not that strong. Miquel - inexperienced and unproven perhaps ok with Morgan or Wesilweski SSL - Clearly not rated by Pearson and me for that matter, expect to go on loan when fit again Whitbread - Again perhaps not that highly rated (certainly not proved himself yet) and injury prone

SSL has no future here and will go on loan once fit
kingfox Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Only a one year deal, obviously short term back up to De Laet. But he looks dangerous, wouldn't want to meet him in an alley at 3am.
FoxTrott Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Remember John Paintsil? That's what can happen... That's a daft analogy. John Paintsil was signed to be a first team player and presumably was on a decent salary. This guy has been signed into an already developed squad and can be used if needed, but he's not going to be our definite right back. And probably isn't on anything like I'd imagine Paintsil was on.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NuERX-5kc0 fvck.

Alright, if that was too harsh, think Lamey.
Asha Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Seen him play before. He's a good signing at this level. Seemed very strong, dominant but definitely lacking in pace. As ferocious as a Morgan-Wasilewski partnership is, I'd worry about that against the pace of some of the sides in our division. I wouldn't put him ahead of de Laet, Moore or Morgan when everyone's available, but what a super back-up to have. For pronunciation, it's 'MAR-Cheen Vah-Shee-LEV-Skee'
RizLCFC Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Remember John Paintsil? That's what can happen... Remember Tunchev? This guy could be as good and less injury prone...
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Alright, if that was too harsh, think Lamey. Or Bruno Berner?
Yuki! Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Played every game for Poland in the Euros just last year
Number 6 Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Seems like good back up and could be very useful if we deploy the 352.
MPH Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 If de laet got injured im presuming moore was the only alternative at RB but he seems to of proved his worth as first choice at CB meaning we needed cover for RB. it also appears that Pearson has finally lost confidence in Whitbread and will probably ship him and SSL out for match practice / offload some wages its a win win for me
