Vardys goal

What on earth was the Bournemouth keeper doing! Just seen it on the FLS and he literally just stands there. Why didn't he come out of his goal lol. Ah well good for us

You serious bro?

He saw Vardy, and knew that 75% of foxestalk were willing him on to prove the haters wrong and he sure as shit wasn't getting in the way.

You could tell he was scared about giving a penalty away. Vardy was always getting to the ball first.

Well yeh if he stands in his 6 yard box and doesn't make an attempt to go to the ball Vardy will get there before him.

Any decent keeper would have just come out and caught that.

I've not seen the highlights yet, just about to.

How it seemed at the time was that their keeper thought he'd simply scoop the ball up, job done.

Then he sees Vardy scampering in, thinks SHIT! I don't want to bring him down, backs-off and the rest is history.

That goal was about one thing and one thing only.. Pace... Vardy's speed put that second of doubt in the keeper's mind, and a second is enough to do the damage. If Wood's lobbed through ball would have been to a player like Stevie Howard or Fryatt, the goal wouldn't have happened.

The team looks so much quicker this season and looks much better for it.

I thought the same at the time but it looks comical on tv. He literally needs to take one step and scoop it up. As you say the pace in the team is great.

Who would win in a 100m sprint, Dyer or Vardy?

Gotta Be Lloyd right?

Exactly what I said yesterday. There can't be a side with as much pace as we have in this division. Vardy completely changes the way we play, for the better.

I thought the same in the Kop lol, schoolboy stuff... it looked as though he could have got there before Vardy, still a great ball from Wood... and Vardy used his pace which must have put doubt in the keepers mind.

The positive nature of Vardy's run makes an opponent question - it always looks different on playback as well - from SK1 all you can remember is Vardy's determination to get there rooting the keeper to his spot.

I've heard from a good source that Vardy is the quickest player at the club over 100m.

Yeh it was all down to Vardy not giving up. Many other players (some premiership ones included) would've just given up on the ball. That speaks volumes for Vardy's hunger and desire and got his just rewards for doing so. I had shivers down my spine at the standing ovation he got when coming off, so god knows how he felt!

Credit to Wood for doing the donkey in setting the goal up though.

He didn't even have to catch it either. A hefty boot up the field would've dealt with it just as easily.

Yeah I thought Wood's assist was class yesterday. He effectively managed to get past at least 3 players and then played Vardy in for was turned out to be a great assist. Wood looked sharp when he came on yesterday, hoping he'll have a decent game on Tuesday.

Pretty comical from their keeper, but Wood did well to get the ball into the final third and Vardy even better to show the composure to round the keeper which he bottled a lot last season.

The whole pitch isn't much more than 100m long, is it? If so, I can imagine Lloyd being faster up to about 30-40m, maybe Vardy beyond that?

It was woeful and he did it again a little later but we wasted a chance.

He took a knock in the first half so not sure if he was suffering. Very weird, though, should easily have beaten Vardy to it. I thought Wood was excellent but that pass would normally have been a pinch heavy.

Pretty sure Allsop is their first choice, but they have had injuries to all their GKs recently. Perhaps he didn't want a collision with Vardy?

Solid performance from us, although for all our possession and goalscoring opportunities, we only scored twice. Not sure we'll get away with that all season (although maybe I'm saying that because at this stage last season we were smashing teams by 5 and 6) - especially when we play the better sides. Positive that we're playing so well, but can still improve - and Vardy has come on leaps and bounds!

I thought for one horrible moment the ref was going to yellow card Vardy for kicking the corner flag out which would've meant a red as he got booked for a late tackle not long before. Luckily, the ref just wanted a 'word' in his shell-like and Vardy ran over to get the flag and carefully placed it back in position lol
