Mack Posted 29 October 2013 Posted 29 October 2013 I was reading through the site this morning and it came to mind that I've never seen an attempt to get members of the forum together. Given a lot of the flaming that goes on and that written posts can often be misunderstood or take too literally would it not be a good idea to organize a get together for members sometime around Christmas to raise a glass to the Foxes and get to know each other a little better? I'm sure some of you know each other already, but I thought an open invitation to all members might be a worthwhile excessive. Something simple like 'we'll be in this bar tonight from 7' and come along if you like sort of thing. It might help people understand where others are coming from a little better at times?

Keys in the bowl? Or something a bit more civilised?
Ric Flair Posted 29 October 2013 Posted 29 October 2013 QPR away for us Londonheads? Actually that's very arrogant of me, i'm sure we could do a home game meet up/all dayer.
cambridgefox Posted 29 October 2013 Posted 29 October 2013 I will be up for that if it's before a match.
Alexikokopops Posted 29 October 2013 Posted 29 October 2013 We used to have an annual football match. U21 vs. O21. The first one was July 2007. I'd never met anyone off FT before. I was a couple of weeks shy of my 21st but was allowed in the O21 goal on the principle that I was rubbish at football but enjoyed a drink. I put in a performance that Toni Schumacher would be proud of, pole axing lildave3 as he was clear through (definitely not a penalty...) all while struggling to kick the ball past the edge of the penalty area. My sheer ineptitude must have put the fear in Bert, I've never seen him miss the target so much since. I think that's the main reason the match finished so close. Later that night I got very drunk and woke up the next morning in a hotel room to the sight of Fez sharing a bed with a topless TPH, who was eating last night's kebab. Next to me was a multipack of brand new M&S socks, left behind by Manwell Pablo after he did a runner in the middle of the night. I've never felt so slightly violated. I'd do it again in a flash. QPR away for us Londonheads? Actually that's very arrogant of me, i'm sure we could do a home game meet up/all dayer. If I wasn't away I'd be all up for that.
Alf Bentley Posted 29 October 2013 Posted 29 October 2013 I never need an excuse to down a few ales in good (or even bad) company. Anywhere in/near Leicester and I'd probably be up for it. I'm too old, fat, scruffy and married for nightclubs, mind!
broughtonblue Posted 29 October 2013 Posted 29 October 2013 Probably up for it Venue? Local conservative club anyone?
Fox in the North Posted 29 October 2013 Posted 29 October 2013 A Christmas meet up would be a laugh, I'm in.
Bert Posted 29 October 2013 Posted 29 October 2013 It would be good. There's been many meet ups before, mainly after an Inter-Forum game which have been great.
Mack Posted 29 October 2013 Author Posted 29 October 2013 Looking forward to someone arranging this. Maybe a whip round for some food? could be arranged with paypal donations.
The Doctor Posted 29 October 2013 Posted 29 October 2013 If I'm back from uni I don't see why not. Like the sound of a u21s vs o21s.
goose2010 Posted 29 October 2013 Posted 29 October 2013 After the Burnley game? early kick off means people might have a bit more time?
Mack Posted 5 November 2013 Author Posted 5 November 2013 If someone wants to arrange this I'm up for popping along.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Too far for me, but I'm sure that will please everyone.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 I'll go if The Big John Steader does. TBJS is not a person, he comes up with shlt too outrageous for any normal human. He is a military BanterBot gone rogue across the internet.
Saxondale Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 Up for it. It needs to be kept simple - ie. X time at Y place, come if you like / can. If we start trying to overcomplicate it, it'll never happen.
Finnegan Posted 5 November 2013 Posted 5 November 2013 I've got me a lovely stone island jacket for this.
