In the spirit of getting psyched about Forest on Saturday...

Recommended Posts

Regardless of the roller-coaster ride that was the last 8/9 days of last season - listening to Forest away was the most worked up I've been as a LCFC supporter...

I'm pretty sure I was having a panic attack from around 75mins & was hyperventilating (remember seeing spots, feeling giddy, and kept being asked if I was alright). Needless to say when the little French wizard scored, it was bedlam & I not-so-suprisingly perked up afterwards!

I remember this getting posted on the day, but this video right here sums up my reaction, and I'm sure the rest of the people listening to Stringer on the radio were doing the same! In any case, it is 22 seconds of pure gold - for those that missed it first time around, enjoy!

I may have not been one of the fortunate ones to be in the ground but I'll never forget that day. My lounge has never seen scenes like it.

I was sat alone in what is supposed to resemble a lounge in my place at uni. Everyone else was out for one reason or another. I didn't know whether to laugh, cry or go mad. So I think I just did a little bit of everything. It was all a bit of a blur to be honest. Thankfully no one else witnessed my absolute breakdown of joy

It brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it now. I'd ran the scenario of how we would beat Forest and make the play-offs in my head for weeks before, never believing we'd actually make it.

Listened to it with my dad and I can remember our reactions to everything. It was a surreal day, unlikely to be surpassed in many ways.

I was sat in my aunts and uncles spare living room with my grandad and brother watching soccer Saturday, we were there for my cousins 21st so naturally my parents were off socialising with people they'd never met. I know for a fact that my dad had an ear turned towards the room, trying to catch a few lines from jeff and the lads. And then it happened, that famous goal. Having been surrounded by unfamiliar faces, I did not want to scream the entire house down thus turning the attention on us but that is what happened! Naturally my brother and grandad joined in! I ran to the kitchen to inform my dad but he just gave me a wink as if to say "I know but I can't be rude and just leave". Later that day my cousin got engaged which made it an even more memorable day. However, given the choice, the best feeling came when we scored! Football before family?! Surely not! :)

I was on my own in my dads flat, lost all dignity when it went in. I just ran around for 2 minutes screaming the place down. Like Kitch pointed out, I'd dreamed of a similar scenario pretty much all season but never actually expected it to happen, just sensational.

We had our whole family gathered around the radio in the conservatory. When Knockaert scored, we all cheered as loud as we could and celebrated as if we were there.

My auntie, the only non-football fan there sank her head in to the sofa and covered her ears.

It was an unforgettable moment.

I was stood on a hill in the Peak District waiting for my DofE group to turn up (the useless sods were lost yet again so my colleague drove around looking for them, although to this day I'm pretty sure he'd gone to the pub). I was walking round with my phone in the air refreshing the web app on my shitty old "dumb"phone desperately trying to get a signal - when it finally refreshed with the final score I was jumping up and down and shouting in the middle of bloody nowhere! Such a euphoric feeling, especially against Forest!

I'd heard the rumours that Saturday that various pubs were streaming it on Al-Jazeera Sport and I ended up in The Market Tavern. I quickly found out that all the rumours had come to nothing, no TV station was showing it, and the Tavern had Watford-Leeds on TV and Radio Leicester on the speakers.

The pub was packed full and the noise meant that Stringer's commentary was more confusing than normal...Simon Cox's opener was celebrated for a good 5 minutes by most of the pub who thought it was a Leicester goal. lol

Anyway, I couldn't handle it, I'd nearly been sick with nerves, and after about 75 minutes I left for a breather. I found myself in Leicester Market, listening to the fruit and veg seller's radio with a fair few other complete strangers. Naturally, everyone went mad when Knocky scored. Incredible scenes.

This was followed by absolute joy at the final whistle at the Reebok, especially after Stringer had asked "Has there been a goal at Bolton?" When there hadn't been

Anyway, one of my highlights as a Leicester fan...despite what happened at Vicarage Road.

I'll never forget it. :trumpet:  :scarf:

The reason Stringer asked if Bolton had scored was because the Forest fans in A Block pretended they had. Those few moments were gut wrenching.

I'm not sure if it was the ale or what but in the ground i just felt calm at 2-2. Like I thought I knew we were going to score. Even when Knockaert gathered the ball on the halfway line I can't remember panicking or whatever. But the celebrations after we'd scored...!

Theres a few on here I think including the FT whistle as well as the FT whistle at Bolton.

Sitting right behind the goal it seemed to take an age for it to go in. As Knockaert was running with it I was shouting shoot, then Wood had it I was shouting shoot.

Then the Forest fans started cheering making out Bolton had scored, everyone around me was going on there phones trying to find out. Absolute chaos when the final whistle went and the players came running over.

Someone told me that Bolton were getting beat 3-0 so I started shouting it to everyone in the away end lol

No, when Jeff pumped it up field I was just saying 'please?' To myself. Everyone went into mass hysteria and I just crumbled to the ground.

We turned up late so we ended up going in the pub full of Forest fans (a kind bouncer let us in on the grounds that we'd cover any blue) some ginger rat was shouting at the top of his lungs how he'd 'love to do Leicester'. Other than that, most of them were pretty pleasant.

Upon taking my shirt off in the celebrations, I nearly fell off a wall whilst I violently flung my arms toward any player who had their name sung.

Then afterwards we thought it'd be clever to run from the ground to find my Dad who'd been in the Forest end, singing songs on the way, I managed to slip on some mud infront of about 10 Forest fans haha!

Great day.

Mine too. I was really ill that day. Headache, sore throat could barely talk, could barely walk. Couldn't eat anything. Stuck at home in despair and nowhere to go.

But in that moment of listening to Stringer and Youngy play out Knocky's goal  and then hearing the final whistle ( :D ) - it was a sudden rush of glee, joy, delight. And of course, even more personal pain in my condition.

Was it worth it? You're damn fvcking right it was! Played out the rest of the weekend in even more pain but sheer happiness knowing we'd beaten the Forest scum and made the play-offs.

I don't think i've ever gone off my nut as much as I did after Knockaert scored and we secured an unlikely spot in the play-offs. I strawpedo'd a bottle of red wine in the boozer much to the horror of everyone around me and then proceeded to get in the buff and fall down the stairs. GIG

It was just carnage. When Wood squared the ball there was a huge collective gasp from our end as our fat was at Knocky's feet. Carnage in the stands. Absolute, utter carnage.

Think that video is a bit staged myself, cant see why anyone would be recording that unless they knew something was gonna happen.

Thought the exact same.

The highlights don't do the celebrations any justice in the slightest. The away end was complete carnage.
