ousefox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 England V Italy been moved forward to 11pm. Shame. I was quite looking forward to watching all the games that day with a few pints. Will probably go out instead of watching the Japan game at 2 now though.
MPH Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Pretty pleased that an England game is on at a decent time for me. 9pm. Makes a nice change
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Find that quite amusing! We're that massive that we've managed to alter the kick off time, we play when we want!

Harry - LCFC Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Oh didn't realise that. Makes you wonder why bothered having pre-decided kick off times in the first place.

whoareyaaa Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 I would love if this was the team for the first game against Italy and Roy just thought **** it. Hart Smalling - absolute dogpoo - Johnson Jones - cm - Lescott Terry - retired - Cahill Cole Carrick Wilshere Ravel Morrison Gerrard Townsend Rooney Zaha Walcott
Soar Fox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 11pm on a Saturday! Gunna be ****ing crazy that is! Shame it's going to clash with the football league show.
ScouseFox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Really wanted an early morning one. 11pm won't make much difference though, just means it'll be before a town session as opposed to during. Engerlannnnnnd

ScouseFox Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 What time do you go out?? Usually hit town about 11/half 11 but if kick off is 11 we'll watch before/in town somewhere before going properly out. Going to be boss and I already can't wait even though it's 7 months away. I love the World Cup.
AndWhat? Posted 7 December 2013 Posted 7 December 2013 Gunna be an all dayer for me that day, would have preferred the 2am KO I reckon, just cause I can't stand nights clubs and would prefer watching an England game!
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 So? That was the Olympics, wasn't taken seriously by anyone, wasn't England it was GB, was in the UK not South America, I could go on but you should get the picture (you probably don't though). We drew 0-0 in a game where we clearly set up to draw 0-0. They passed it more than we did and had more shots but we still drew after 120 minutes. Rooney clearly wasn't fit so we were never going to score. Set up a bit differently with a fully flowing Rooney and new kids like Townsend etc we could match them again I reckon. they made us look ****ing stupid for 120 minutes
ScouseFox Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 they made us look ****ing stupid for 120 minutes And didn't score.
Dan Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 No surprise when they had the over-rated and inconsistent Balotelli as their main attacking outlet. That group is a horror for England but you never really know. Logically I'd have us down to come third, but Italy love a cock up against sides like Costa Rica and I think we're more than capable of getting something off Uruguay - providing someone snaps Suarez in the next few months.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 And didn't score. so? Purely circumstantial, they should of. We were lucky,
Kitchandro Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-25294484 The Brazilian football league season ended on Sunday with a violent brawl that seriously injured three people. A match in southern Brazil was stopped for an hour after a fight broke out between supporters of Vasco da Gama and Atletico Paranaense. TV images showed seemingly unconscious men being kicked in the head despite appeals from football players. A helicopter landed on the pitch to transport an injured man to hospital. The shockingly violent scenes, broadcast live to millions of homes on Sunday afternoon, are bound to raise questions about Brazil's ability to keep fans safe during next year's World Cup, correspondents say. 2014 Fifa World Cup: Five reasons not to miss the World Cup http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25273094
ScouseFox Posted 9 December 2013 Posted 9 December 2013 so? Purely circumstantial, they should of. We were lucky, So if we played the same game again and drew 0-0 again we have a very good chance of qualifying. I get that it won't be the same game again, obviously, but the result of that game was 0-0 and we'd take 0-0 again here. The way some people are going on it's like a guaranteed loss vs Italy because we'd never be able to do anything other than get battered by them, when literally 18 months ago, when we as a team were in a worse position (Rooney not fit, Hodgson new to the job etc) did draw with them. I'm not expecting us to go out there and stroll through the group, but we can get something off both Italy and Uruguay if we play well. No doom an gloom yet.

How that game finished level is one of the biggest travesties of the tournament , People have been making a big deal about our 30 attempts at goal vs Millwall, I think Italy managed more than that against us, we were toss, never in the game. Dicked on for 120 minutes, you play that game another 99 times they'd of probably of ran out winners every time . I'm hoping we can do alright but the Italians aren't quite as good as they were two years ago with Pirlo, Buffon a couple of years older and Cassano/Di Natalie out the picture all together, plus the fact that are famously crap in the first group game at big tournaments, but I struggle to see where you are coming from in saying we're better, Rooney hasn't performed for England on the big stage since 2004, and has never scored a world cup goal, so counting on him is pointless (and he was fit wasn't he? Just suspended for the first two games) Lampard is very old now, Gerrard is getting there, Terry is gone, bar a few exciting new lads (Townsend, Barkley) who are unproven against decent opposition our midfield is a joke with options like Tom Cleverly and Jordan Henderson. Our strike force, the ever underwhelming Rooney put to one side our strike force is even more cringe worthy, Jay Rodrieguez now has an England cap FFS. Put all this together that we are generally wank at big tournaments when we do have the players to do well and it's not looking good for us is it? Even if we play well we'll be crossing our fingers the opposition has an off day.

We were not in a 'worse position' 18 months ago. We actually had a decent defence. If we set up like that again we'll probably lose 2/3-0.
StanSP Posted 10 December 2013 Posted 10 December 2013 TV Schedules announced for BBC/ITV. BBC has first pick on round of 16 and semi-finals. ITV first pick on quarter-finals. Both to show final. http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2013/world-cup-split.html
Jimothy Posted 10 December 2013 Posted 10 December 2013 Well we're out then. Everybody knows we play badly when shown on itv at major tournaments.
Kitchandro Posted 10 December 2013 Posted 10 December 2013 Well we're out then. Everybody knows we play badly when shown on itv at major tournaments. Listening to Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend commentate on our games makes me wish we were out.
