Do we look like a promotion winning side? Be honest.

I'm going with yes, even though If you compare this season to last I find we played and looked quite an attacking attractive team, however despite that we still managed to lose games! This season though i find us lot less attractive but still winning games, just shows you don't have to play attractive to win games.

I'm still not getting carried away. A por January now couod se us roughly in the same place as the end as last January. A lot could happenyet.

Agreed, I think we will fizzle out and struggle to stay in the play off places.

Hope I'm wrong but I doubt it!

I maintain 3-4 defeats on the bounce and Suedhead will be out.

Just the way I see it.

The Christmas period has me convinced that our squad can win promotion, but I'm still holding my reservations because I felt similarly last year before our big drop.  I know we're doing much better than we did last year, but it's hard to shake that memory.

Pretty much this.

We already have more away wins than last season, and are only 17 points off our total from last season, this has been impressive so far. It took us till February to achieve 53 points... we already have 51.

If we do  business, it will be for players that Nige thinks will hack it in the Prem.

Cant see him blowing cash on players that may be redundant in six months time.

Looking good at the minute looking at the fixtures we have already played QPR, Derby, Ipswich, Brighton, Blackpool and Middlesborogh away from home.

We have tough trips to Burnley, Leeds, Forest and Reading but the rest of the always I'd fancy us to get something out of. Keep the home form going strong we still have to play Doncaster, Sheff Wed, Yeovil and Charlton at home and although 3 of those beat us away I would be disappointed with anything less than 3 points in these games.

Average 2 points a game over our last 11 at home and 1 point a game in our remaing away games has us on 84 points which in the past has been enough for 2nd. We surly can't have as bad a run as last year again....

I am beginning to get excited...

This coming from the man who predicted we'd be in free-fall and the manager would be gone well before Christmas - forgive me if I don't put too much stock in your 'predictions'.

I could give you instructions for how to change a broken record, but I doubt you'd ever want to read it.

Good to see some people never change their negative bias towards a manager who's just led us to 1st place after 23 games played and who has a 50% winning ratio with the club.

But this is another great post to come back to at the end of the season.

It's what he hopes will happen.

For all that it's nice to be in an automatic promotion place by what amounts to the equivalent of two wins but I'd be looking to improve both our squad and our performances in various ways. I'd also be looking to Stringer to stop blabbing "This is our year". That's not enthusiasm, it's arrogant assumptiousness of the worst kind.

One thing that worries me is Nigel could name far to many changes for the Stoke game and we wouldn't want repeat of last year, though of course there would be no shame in losing as not forgetting there premier league but we don't want to get hammered, a heavy defeat would certainly down the dressing room.

To be honest though I don't think Nigel will make any more than four changes.

Is the OP the same guy that rang into RL last night insisting that Paul Gallagher was the answer to promotion?

If not, maybe they should link up, they'd get on pretty well by the sounds of it

Have to agree, Stringer was pushing Pearson to say "We'll do it" in one interview recently and Pearson dismissed it straight away.

We've been great so far but plenty of games to play and points to be won and lost.

Simply, when we win, yes we do. When we lose no we don't. Same as every other team in the league.

But in all honesty, I think we look a much more solid package this season. Half the results we have had this season, we would never of got last season. We would have buckled under the pressure of being behind last season, whereas this season we seem to be able to come back from losing positions.

I hope that continues!

Nearly all the pundits Ive listened to recently are saying we look strong for promotion. Talk Sport today for example... stating that we have kept injuries to a relative minimum, have strength in depth and have offloaded some of the bigger paid players.

Most people now seem to believe this could be our year.

Personally I think we must keep Dyer and Vardy fit. They are the main threat this season IMO. Their pace (with an end product) is really frightening defences.

Its starting to get really exciting now and every game is becoming a 'biggie'.

Win at home against the shaggers and we really will be looking the real deal!!

Fingers crossed, in fact everything crossed.

I would have said at times no we don't, even though the points kept adding up, but a lot of games were unconvincing, derby etc.

Then to the results and performances against Doncaster, sheff wed, Brighton and a few others, that had a lot of what went wrong last season about them.

But after recent weeks and the performances and results, I am starting to dare myself to believe that Pearson and the players might just have what it takes this season.

What happened from a strong position last season, cut deep, and the wounds have only just started to heal, so I am daring to think we will do it, and things seem different, but the rot started about this sort of time, so for now I will say we are good enough, and just hope the players keep this belief, and get the job done.

Great first half, like many, I still think there's loads of room for improvement, our squad does need refreshing abit.

The winter months are going to be very important, were  passing side and pitches at this level aren't always great.
