Yeah, that was pretty crap. I quite like the first sector but after that it's just another Korea, India, Abu Dhabi, etc.

Well done Mercedes.

Pirelli have to take some of the blame. For rosberg to pit on lap 1 and get to the end of the race in 2nd is criminal and made for a very boring race from a tactile point of view as well as from a racing point of view!

Why does Tilke have to design EVERY fvcking circuit? Of course there's going to be a lot of similarities then.

There must be other adequate circuit 'architects' in the world - get some fresh ideas in.

Not only that he would have got the fastest lap record that he set on the penultimate lap if it wasn't for bottas on the last lap

It would still be a boring circuit even with more stops. Bottas should have defended better which would have made it more interesting. Williams and McLaren were both boringly conservative with strategy.

Yes he should have defended better but still have a question about Rosberg's move

Bottas had to take avoiding action so not to hit Rosberg's car

Should Rosberg have left Bottas a cars width on the outside of him and if so should it have been a case of Rosberg running Bottas off the track instead and hence a penalty for Rosberg

No way, it was a completely fair move.

Britain's Alex Lynn one of 3 drivers on the short list for the Torro Rosso drive, along with Sainz Jr and Gasly .

It wouldn't surprise me if Gasly got the nod. He's had an impressive season in FR3.5 for an 18 year old rookie and Red Bull obviously have no problems with promoting young, inexperienced drivers if they feel they're talented enough and Gasly has bags of talent.

Montezemolo's just stated that Alonso is leaving Ferrari at the end of the season. As close to an official confirmation as you can get.

Isn't it widely believed Alonso is heading back to McLaren?

Yes, although there is also rumours that he is waiting to see if Hamilton signs a new contract at Mercedes before he commits to any team, which could mean he takes a year out. Not sure why Hamilton would leave though.

I'm not really sure if Alonso is tempted with the revival of the McLaren-Honda package. We don't know how powerful the new Honda engines will be next year, they've had a great pedigree in the past but that pales in comparison with the present. And think about the last time Alonso was there.

We also don't know about the futures of Magnussen and Button at McLaren. For me, Magnussen will stay and Button will go. If Alonso doesn't go there then they'll probably promote Vandoorne to a full time seat in 2015.

I'd imagine signing a 1 year contract somewhere would make more sense.

The problem is, the teams want a multi year commitment.

McLaren have got a great pick of drivers. Whoever they end up with, they'll have a very good pairing. Watching Magnussen and Vandoorne over the last two years, I think Vandoorne may be the slightly better talent but Kevin deserves the seat after the rookie season he's had. Hopefully Vandoorne stays in GP2 for another year, wins the championship and then gets a McLaren drive in 2016.

I agree about Magnussen deserving the seat. However you'd probably feel a bit sorry for Button, scoring nearly double the points over his team mate and still it looks like he's leaving McLaren.

Alonso has already said himself that next season is nearly sorted and it's really obvious what is happening
