Leicester_lad_92 Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 What a fantastic job he's done at city over the years, and we are Still building, 6 months ago I & a few others got slated on here for sticking by wanting to keep Pearson, just a shame some people in the past could never see what he's building here with such a gd young squad. Thank u to the owners who stuck with nige:) Pearson's record speaks for itself: Pld:224 Won:112 Drew:54 Lost:58 Could he be the next o'neill:)!
Charl91 Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 He is doing an amazing job, all credit to him. I would have been impressed with a top 4 finish, so to be top is bloody amazing.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Exactly 50% win according to those stats that is impressive.
Happy Fox Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 All I am going to say is keep up the good work and the rewards are up for grabs.
Swarles Barkley Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Im gonna be honest, when we went on that horrible run during last season, towards the end i too wanted him gone. But wow how im happily eating my words now. Nowadays there is so much sackings, resgination etc i guess i kind of went along with it, but so glad the owners didnt share this view. Love pearson right now as well as the whole team. Still not going to be as optimistic as last year as anything can happen but quietly confident. Long may our form continue and long may pearson be our manager!
NathanC93 Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Always wanted him to stay too, got very frustrating at times but as Leicester fans we should know chopping and changing managers doesn't work. SIGN HIM UP!
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Well said, and completely agree, I hope he reads this! Sadly no doubt if we go on a bad run this will be easily forgotten and people will want him out again.
5waller5 Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 He's doing incredibly well, and seems to have grown in experience and confidence as a manager. Seems like it's all going to turn out just peachy. The only annoying thing now is the self-righteous threads of "I stuck by Nigel ... Aren't I clever!!!?"
Haydos Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Always said stick with him. It would be a gamble to go with anyone else and there's nobody that stands out above him. Time and stability and he can take us close to where we were.

Well said mate:) and ur right there are far too many sackings now a days it's annoying, we've done well as a club to keep with the staff & same set of lads & keep building:) we weren't far off last year and we'll be there or there abouts again this, just hope we get contracts sorted:) up the foxes!!
I blame Wellens Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Im gonna be honest, when we went on that horrible run during last season, towards the end i too wanted him gone. A good day and hopefully 2014 will be our year.

No I don't mean it like that at all, i got a lot of flack on here from people saying 'bumming him blah blah' but I genuinely believe he is and always has been a very good manager compared to the crap we've had in recent years at our club, just glad we now seem to be pulling in same direction & doubters have Been silenced, but shud anything start to happen like 2 or 3 bad results we've got to keep together!!
Larry_LCFC Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Would love to be a fly on the wall in the owners office to see their reactions and thoughts

Well if that's genuine then fair play. I'd suggest that the people that didn't have the faith that he could be successful had a stronger argument at certain points .... i didn't have the faith that he would be where he is now. However early this season he showed that he'd got a new facet to his character and had probably gone away over the summer and had some serious thinking time about how he'd change himself.
foxfanazer Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 According to Pearson we are doing okay...And that's why I love him
Babylon Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Well if that's genuine then fair play. I'd suggest that the people that didn't have the faith that he could be successful had a stronger argument at certain points .... Presumably, by at certain points, you mean any time after we were top two in Feb? There were plenty of signs there that we had the potential for this. I do not buy into this "he's changed" stuff personally, he sounds barely any different in interviews. We set up the same, we play the same football. We just have players with a bit more experience of champ football, along with a few older players with lots of football experience. I wasn't sure we'd be able to turn it around with how the season ended. But the mental strength it has taken for players to come back so quickly from that, I feel confident we can handle any blip better now.
Fox92 Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Always liked him, always respected and supported him and said numerous times last season to stick with him. We are doing ok, he's right, as usual playing it down which I like.
Guest MattP Posted 1 January 2014 Posted 1 January 2014 Don't think I need to write my support of him, its never been in doubt. Noy getting carried away though, we have a job to finish.

But the mental strength it has taken for players to come back so quickly from that, I feel confident we can handle any blip better now. I'd say around 2-3 times ..... the abysmal drop in form in the last half of last season. The lack of any meaningful impact when he first took over from Sven, and I can't remember the other time! The fact that he signed some experience and not relied on the "young & hungry" formula suggests a big change in itself. The confidence you have that he can turn around the next blip, because it will happen, suggests another. But for me, that's down to him ..... not some magic coincidence, I'm actually giving him more credit than those that always said he was great .... it takes more to recognise your own failings and amend them than to just stay the same.
Leicester_lad_92 Posted 1 January 2014 Author Posted 1 January 2014 I'm not sure if he's changed an awful lot about himself tbf, he's a clever man in that he deflects media attention away from his players & keep his cards close to his chest, a proper football manager imo unlike likes of Ollie etc, maybe he has got wiser over the summer but he's been able to add a bit more experience to help us see us through games towards the end:) we didn't really have that in our disposal after it started going wrong feb time. We'll see but so far so good whether we go up or not I for one am enjoying watching us play some great footy especially at home:-)
