Lionheart Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 As has been stated already, when we were doing sh*t last season Pearson took the stick so only right now that he takes the credit.
Strokes Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Nige. He's the manager. He get's the credit when we win, just like he takes the stick when we lose. Credit all involved, but especially pearson. Players take stick too, sometimes after a win and a goal, no names mentioned.
Larry_LCFC Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Everyone has a part in success. The manager, for picking the squad, motivating the players and applying the tactics. The owners for being patient and sticking with Nigel, bankrolling a decent squad and securing a debt free future. The players for doing the business on the pitch and playing as a determined and committed brotherhood without any massive egos getting the way. Even the groundstaff for giving us such a perfect playing surface to do play some brilliant football on. Last but not least, the fans who turn up week in, week out to show support for the team we love. Without the fans, there would be no point in even playing. LCFC, I love you.
Thracian Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 No-one. We're promising much but have achieved nothing as yet and I'd far rather we just kept concentrating on the job rather than wallowing in self-congratulation.
Mack Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Until we achieve something, for me there is no credit to be handed out. Please remember, we are only just past half way in the season, and whilst it looks great any counting chickens or complacency will be harshly punished. There will be plenty of time for handing out the praise when the time comes. The good news is no one in more grounded than Nigel Pearson from what I have seen, I'm sure he wont let anyone get carried away just yet.
MGLCFC Posted 12 January 2014 Author Posted 12 January 2014 Thracian - the question I posed was 'who should take the credit for the wonderful position we are in at present'. I'm not wallowing in self - congratulation, merely pointing out that our wonderful club is now in a great position at present, both on and off the field. Things have definitely improved and personally I think everyone concerned with the club are pulling their weight and times ahead look good.
sdb Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Troy Deeney. In all seriousness, there's too many posts going on like we've won the league. Still so far to go!
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 I think a lot of you need to calm down
Thracian Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Thracian - the question I posed was 'who should take the credit for the wonderful position we are in at present'. I'm not wallowing in self - congratulation, merely pointing out that our wonderful club is now in a great position at present, both on and off the field. Things have definitely improved and personally I think everyone concerned with the club are pulling their weight and times ahead look good. I'd still say "no-one". And if I was in Pearson's place I'd be making sure that attittude prevailed and that everyone focused on the task in hand and on continuing to set even higher standards.
MGLCFC Posted 12 January 2014 Author Posted 12 January 2014 I'd like to clear something up - I'm not suggesting we're going to get promoted, make the play off's etc. I'm merely pointing out that our club is better managed on and off the field, our team is as good as I've seen it for years, which has put us in a wonderful position and I just want to know where people feel the credit lies for this.
MGLCFC Posted 12 January 2014 Author Posted 12 January 2014 But Thracian - do you not think our club has moved forward in the last 2 and a half year and if so, who takes credit for that. If not, fair enough.
lavrentis Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Pearson. I love the man, he's like that school teacher who you thought was evil and who you hated but gets the best out of you.
David Lowe Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Definitely Birch. He has created a great atmosphere at the training ground, one of the best he has known.
broughtonblue Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Milan manderic, realised he had took us as far as he could, looked to the future and chose our current owners because of the commitment they promised. Milan, we salute you!!!
Bert Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Ask them, and I would bet they would say from top to bottom it's a team thing.
iamafox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Everyone associated with the club, including the stewards and the matchday programme sellers.
Thracian Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 But Thracian - do you not think our club has moved forward in the last 2 and a half year and if so, who takes credit for that. If not, fair enough. I don't think it will happen but if we suffer a dip in form caused by complacency, injuries, ill luck, bad refeereeing decisions or a combination of any number of things we might yet achieve no more than we've managed in the recent past. In which case our club wouldn't have been seen to have moved forwards at all on the pitch, whatever general perceptions might be. Football success is not about feelings or appearances it's about achievements and so far we've "won/achieved" nothing other than the considerable respect of our opponents, which I by no means dismiss. Yes, I could readily argue that the club has moved forward in countless ways - on and off the field - and, if that's right, I'd put that down to a significant team effort by a whole stack of people right across the club from our owners, directors and manager downwards. One massive plus has been the owners paying off our debts but the degree to which we benefit will still depend on the work of others as well as our leaders, including our manager. But football club's are like tinder boxes. When they're winning, almost everything seems rosy. But just one incident or setback can affect the mood and a series of them together can quite quickly change the atmosphere completely...hence my completely unassumptious caution. There is much to do yet - like beating Leeds on Saturday, like actually winning promotion, like making good decisions about the future contracts of already established squad members and planning soundly for our survival in the Premiership should we ever get there. Those kinds of things can easily go wrong, hence my view that we should just get on with the job and save any plaudits for the future.
Rob1742 Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 The owners deserve credit for holding their nerve last season and sticking with the manager. Pearson deserves massive credit for getting rid of big time overpaid Charlie's and replacing them with good younger players. The bloke who says on here we have achieved nothing is blinkered. If you look at what the squad was like, the wages, league position etc when Pearson first joined, to now, you will see he has achieved a great deal. If you only judge an achievement in football by actually winning something, I suggest you go and support another club as we rarely win anything. Perhaps you might want to look at Friday as an achievement and you might start enjoying yourself more.
MC Prussian Posted 13 January 2014 Posted 13 January 2014 Everybody has contributed: - The owners, for committing to the club and for sticking with Pearson, even through some of the tougher/crazier times - The manager, for instilling a winning mentality, a great passing game (which can still get better) and for bringing the players together to form a team - The players, for dedicating themselves to one common cause (promotion as of right now) and for putting in extra shifts - The fans, for cherishing and appreciating all that work and for being (mostly) positive I'll exclude the media for now. Maybe it's a distance thing, but I don't feel as if local print and radio are overly enthusiastic about the current league position. But like I said, I don't get to read the Mercury on a regular basis and I don't listen to BBC Radio Leicester all that often, either.
