MGLCFC Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Just wondered who people thought should take the credit for the wonderful position that we find ourselves in at present. The owners, the Management team, the players or is it a collective thing?
Fox92 Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Nige. He's the manager. He get's the credit when we win, just like he takes the stick when we lose.
The God Emperor Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 everyone played their part. the owners gave the club the financial backing, the players play well and the pitch and the management staff organise the players
davieG Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Me and all the other fans who have turned up in their thousands despite watching all the years of shite.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 The owners - tiny willies, massive balls
The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Nige. He's the manager. He get's the credit when we win, just like he takes the stick when we lose. I agree. You could well credit Vardy and Drinky for their improvements this year but ultimately Pearson was the one who allowed them to improve for us rather than moving them on. The mans a legend.
MGLCFC Posted 12 January 2014 Author Posted 12 January 2014 Who ever advised the Thai's to release Pearson when they took over needs their head looking at. Unless of course they wanted a name, rather than a manager. For me, Pearson and his team have transformed our club. Give them long term contracts and the financial backing to keep moving us forward. He'll spend wisely and get us back to a respectable Premiership team.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 A group effort, but Pearson has turned things around, and should be given a large slice of the credit.
Matt Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Well everyone points at the manager when things are going wrong so surely the same should be done when doing well? So Nige. However for me, when things are going wrong I normally point the finger at the players so for me the players, especially certain individuals who have improved dramatically and some of those players arugably our worst last season have become our best this season. On a whole it's a 'club'/team effort. Some people wanted Nige out last season, I disagreed, I knew we needed to keep him, he's been our best manager since Micky Adams/MON, it was clear to see and not sure how some people argued against that, but the players deserve as much credit and so do the owners, everyone is working together and is it any coincidence because of that we are reaping rewards? I think not.
Mark_w Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 The players who are regularly involved, Nigel Pearson, Nigel Pearson's staff and anyone who has played a significant role in keeping Pearson at the club when idiotic fans were calling for his head, deserve the credit.
Charl91 Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Nigel (and his backroom staff) deserves the most credit. But the players, and even the owners deserve some.
The Blur Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 That squirrel Changed the game for us against QPR when we were getting hammered.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 I think Sven deserves the credit, he purchased Kasper who many say is the best keeper in the league and he also purchased one Davey Nugent who has been bossing on the spot.
foxfanazer Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Obviously everyone associated but Nigel in particular has been amazing. Seems to have learnt a lot in the past year
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Gallagher with his never back down attitude, hard challenges and pace.
cc_star Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 If the manager has been in place for a while & has had the time & means to mould the team as they see fit, then it's down to the manager. Obviously owners need some credit for NP being here & of course the players are performing as coached & motivated to pretty much week in & week out so they get a chunk too
ithuriel Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 The owners, they could easily have sacked Nige the end of last season and they have bought the stadium and have us in a good financial position plus they have tried to lay things on for the supporters like those fairs, even if some peeps did think they were a tad daft. The management team, even though I lost confidence in them with that bad run towards the end of last season they have built a decent team with out spending a huge amount and clearing out highly paid under achievers that cost Sven his job.
