Tubes (from off here) still owes me £100, when Stearman broke into the Leicester side he bet me Stearman would play for the England senior side.

Technically he doesn't as he still could

You have to wait for him to retire before you've won that bet.

Yeah that's the technicality Kep still uses regarding it, tit.

lol

A friend of mine was mouthing off in the summer saying how Arsenal will win the league easily. I told him to put his money where his mouth is and gave him odds of 15/1, he put £20 on it.

I'm starting to regret that now so offered him £50 cash out now lol

I wouldn't, they are clearly going to collapse.

He's still only 26 as well lol could feasible still be going for another 9/10 years at some level.

If Leicester are offering new contracts to Morgan and Kasper, then why aren't they offering Moore one who only has 18 months left on his deal and by getting him to sign a new contract his value automatically goes up considerably and also ends the transfer speculation if they don't want to sell.

Money is obviously tight, or we'd have had Morgan, Kasper and Nugent tied up months ago.

Why the **** would we prioritize someone with 18 months left? Especially given we don't know what league we'll be in next year.

We don't need to sell Moore and he can wait til July to talk contracts. This is just tabloid speculation to liven up a very dull window.

I'll owe a mate £50 -£100 (cant remember) if Chris Weale and Matty Fryatt don't get England call ups before retiring. Shouldn't have smoked so much during the League one season! That's uni for you though.

Really?

I mean Fryatt.....perhaps if you were in a bit of a state....there isn't enough Crack in Cambodia to make me ever believe Chris Weale would get in the England team lol, he's spent most of his career in League One lol

Well he should be a priority in my eyes, surely securing an up and coming English centre half, would be a more suitable deal which can benefit Leicester, better than waiting until July when Leicester could be a Premier League club and Liam and his agent start asking for Premier League wages. Just a thought,

Hasn't Stearman played for Republic Of Ireland yet? I thought I read somewhere that he was getting a call up.

Don't tell me that! If he plays for them he'll talk his way around me paying him £100.

You sure it was Uni you was at and not a mental asylum?

Perhaps they are in discussions, it's not quite as pressing as Morgan and Kasper but now there's genuine interest from the PL we'll step it up?

Yeah maybe they are, we won't know anyway.

Leicester could show a lot of intent by getting Liam to sign a new deal this window, getting your prized possession to sign a new long term deal will increase his value, tell the Premier League that Leicester plan on keeping him for their Premier League season and tells the Premier League that Leicester aren't willing to sell Liam at any price.

I know. What a complete tool I was. I'm hoping that either he's forgotten, or the Weale bet was a dream. Both are quite probable.

Because it doesn't add that much to his value, we don't have to sell, don't need to sell, don't want to sell... people would already have to pay silly money for him to get him now. It also doesn't end transfer speculation, he could sign a new contract tomorrow and still leave a week later.

If Liam Moore signs a 4 year deal, of course it adds value to him!

Let's say he signs a contract for £15,000 a week, his contract a lone is worth £3.1million, then the fact he is a young English defender who has a hell of a lot off potential.

What has his contract worth got to do with his value?

As I already stated, it would already take stupid money for us to sell. How long he has left will be of no concern at this moment in time.

That's how clubs value a player, they take a contracts worth into account, it's a logical way of valuing a player and that's how many clubs will value their prized possessions.

What would be the figure that you would be willing to accept for Liam? £7million?

There still time yet Loft :P

if you aren't in a position where you have to sell; the amount of the contract does factor into the value of the player.

Beckford was worth £8.3m then!

£6 / £7m would be something to think about, but with our position I'm not sure I'd even accept that at the minute. The summer, well that's something else.

Was Beckford your prized possession or were you getting rid of him to balance the books? Liam Moor is a different situation, I hope Leicester keep him anyway.

I think £7million is good money for him, whether the board think the same will remain to be seen.

So if Liam Moore is on £5000 a week and has one and a half years left his whopping value would be £390,000?

The value of a player is down to a) his quality b) the demand for him c) The needs of his club.  We aren't talking about working out compensation here.

If it factors in at all, it would be a long long way down the list, alongside whether he likes Marmiite.

Yes, that's probably why Fulham are offering around £2million for him, because his contract isn't worth much..

This is why I've been saying Leicester should get him to sign now. You get your prized assets tied down, because then they're worth more money, like Suarez, didn't Bale sign a contract the summer before he went Madrid?

Presumably Bale and Walcott were on about 40k a week as kids at Saints before joining spurs and arsenal then.

Do you think Arsene was sat there working out his wage to contract value when he bid a fee rising to £12m? Or did he think, ****, this player is good, we want him before someone else snaps him up.
