Vlad the Fox Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Leicester City have told clubs interested in defender Liam Moore he is not for sale, the Mercury understands. The 20-year-old has been the subject of a £2million bid by Premier League side Fulham which City rejected. However, the Cottagers are expected to make another offer. Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 I just hope we're meeting FFP enough to allow us to reject it. Definitely though three mill isn't enough
Far Post Gerry Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 I wonder if we can put in some kind of clause that we can buy him back for the same price if we go up and they come down. A kind of extended relegation clause. Sounds a bit far fetched but it'd make good sense.
surrifox Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 the mood music has changed a bit and I now think that NP will sell if the price is right - he would surely have to spend on a replacement though

A kind of extended relegation clause. Sounds a bit far fetched but it'd make good sense. Why would we even consider that. He's a regular first team player just tell them to fvck off we won't sell for less than 30mil.
Guest shearfox Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 his worth to us is way more than 3mill they would need to double that plus more...
Jace Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 any club would sell any player if the price is right, most clubs will not want to sell key players for the future for their valuation most clubs would want more, Fulhams offer is just insulting
Bryn Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Bit of a acid test this, it will be interesting to see at what point the owners step in and say that they can't ignore the money on offer. I wouldn't hold it against them if it went over £5m, I believe that they would hand Pearson a significant proportion of that money to replace Liam. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, he's a great player and it's so good to see a local lad and fan in the team. As I and others said, I don't think he would want to go anyway.
Onions Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Liam just needs to come out and tell them to do one.
Far Post Gerry Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Why would we even consider that. He's a regular first team player just tell them to fvck off we won't sell for less than 30mil. Fair enough. I was looking at it more from the player's point of view. Prem football either way for Liam, and the chance for City to make a few quid if we don't go up. But it's never gonna happen anyway.
leicesterseddon Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 depending on which report you read the message is different one paper (sun?) reports that Fulham were told that their bid does not match the club's valuation of the player - doesn't that say we will sell but not at the price you've offered Well yeah, that's normally how this transfer market stuff usually works.
leicesterseddon Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 For the record, I think the club should make a real effort to keep Liam but if someone came in at £4m+ you'd have to take a serious look at it. However, I think that's very unlikely so we should keep him
surrifox Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Rob Dorsett â€@Dorselator 1m Sky Sources: #lcfc reject a £2m bid from Fulham for defender Liam Moore. Fulham have been told he is not for sale. Well yeah, that's normally how this transfer market stuff usually works. or to put it another way the message appears to have changed slightly (since Fulham have now made another offer)
sylofox Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 For the record, I think the club should make a real effort to keep Liam but if someone came in at £4m+ you'd have to take a serious look at it. However, I think that's very unlikely so we should keep him NO we should not it would cost nearly that to replace him. We should not even be thinking about selling him atm. We are top of the league and want to go up we will do that by adding to our squad not breaking it up. He's looks to be one of the best players to have come through our youth system in years if not decades. If we and our owners are serious about being top flight we need to keep players like Liam not sell them. Unless we get a really silly offer like 10mil plus. As I said earlier the owners should put 30mil on his head and tell fulham to come back when they can afford him. £4mil lol
StanSP Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Very clever of our Liam to get nutmegged in front of the cameras in training so that it goes on YouTube for the world to see. He obviously wants to stay with us!
Babylon Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Fulham have increased it to 3 million We must have given him a pay rise!!!!
sylofox Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 We must have given him a pay rise!!!! lol Don't start that again frfs
leicesterseddon Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 or to put it another way the message appears to have changed slightly (since Fulham have now made another offer) I think the point I was trying to make is that the 'message' the club may or may not be putting out doesn't really matter - the transfer market is...well, a market, where every player has his price. When clubs say players aren't for sale, they don't mean it in absolute terms.
leicesterseddon Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 NO we should not it would cost nearly that to replace him. We should not even be thinking about selling him atm. As I said earlier the owners should put 30mil on his head and tell fulham to come back when they can afford him. £4mil lol I don't disagree with most of what you're saying. Neither did I say we should definitely sell Liam if someone came in with a £4m+ offer. But come on...if someone actually fronted up over £4m for him, the club would at least have to give it some thought.
sylofox Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Fair enough. I was looking at it more from the player's point of view. Prem football either way for Liam, and the chance for City to make a few quid if we don't go up. But it's never gonna happen anyway. I do see your point. But I would like to think our players would rather spend the season with us now. A chance of winning the league and a season in the prem or. Move to fulham for 5 months in the prem then nxt season in the championship. Yes if it was chelski man city/utd liverpool or arsenal But fulham naaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Spudulike Posted 17 January 2014 Posted 17 January 2014 Which bit of 'Liam Moore is not for sale' is confusing Fulham ?? If they really are making an increased bid then I can only assume they are getting encouragement from Liam himself or his agent.
