hackneyfox Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Agreed 2 million is nowhere near enough, but I can't help but think most other clubs are aware we aren't in a great place financially. I thought with the owners having paid off the debt we could probably make a loss of 8m this year and not be hit by FFP. Aren't we in a better position financially than any other club in the Championship and most clubs in the Premier?
Fox92 Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Why do you alway bang on about the 1960's? George Cohen ... The Beatles ... Give it a rest. You're about 20. So we should all bow down because they gave the world George Cohen ? Ohhh that Jonny Haynes was some player ... Yawn. Can't help but admire history... PS - you missed the whole point of my post.
Babylon Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 If we have ambitions to play in the PL and clubs are sniffing around Moore and others believing they have PL potential I can't really see why we would sell even for £5 because we'd have to find replacements if we got promoted and that would cost us much. Well I certainly wouldn't sell for £5. I thought with the owners having paid off the debt we could probably make a loss of 8m this year and not be hit by FFP. Aren't we in a better position financially than any other club in the Championship and most clubs in the Premier? I would say you are right.
Exeter Fox Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 We wonder why people call us arrogant? Yes £2M isn't a good offer. But I don't understand the 'tinpot'/'small club' circle-jerk in here. We sound like Leeds fans to be honest.

Aren't we in a better position financially than any other club in the Championship and most clubs in the Premier? In the way we have no debt yeah we're fine, we're still running at a loss due to our huge wage bill and I doubt our owners cleared all our debts at their own expense with the intention of racking up another massive debt! There is a reason nobody including Nige has a new contract yet!
StanSP Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 If we have ambitions to play in the PL and clubs are sniffing around Moore and others believing they have PL potential I can't really see why we would sell even for £5 because we'd have to find replacements if we got promoted and that would cost us much. Unless of course we're still struggling to meet FFP which we're informed we're not. If we don't get promoted them it's a different story for LCFC and Moore. There was me thinking you were one of the good folk. £5? Come on Davie!
The Horse's Mouth Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 We wonder why people call us arrogant? Yes £2M isn't a good offer. But I don't understand the 'tinpot'/'small club' circle-jerk in here. We sound like Leeds fans to be honest. It's not as if we're big either.
Babylon Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 In the way we have no debt yeah we're fine, we're still running at a loss due to our huge wage bill and I doubt our owners cleared all our debts at their own expense with the intention of racking up another massive debt! There is a reason nobody including Nige has a new contract yet! They built £10m on top of the losses we have already into the equity deal... so effectively they have already accepted another £10m loss. Coincidence that we can lose £8m this season and about £2m next season? We have 11 players coming to the ends of their contracts, so yes. Should we not get promoted we might release the vast majority, or negotiate a new deal at a much smaller wage. As we will need to save another £5m/£6m next year. It's not as if we're big either. We aren't big... we are MASSIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
dog_4 Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 we are debt free, filthy rich No clubs outside the top six worth going too. Villa are going nowhere, west ham are going no where so on so forth!
davieG Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Well I certainly wouldn't sell for £5. I would say you are right. There was me thinking you were one of the good folk. £5? Come on Davie! I just think he's shit and over rated by our fans, where's the Moore is young but crap thread?

Cincinnati Fox Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 He's one of our own He's one of our own **** off fulham He's one of our own
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 So what the player is actually worth goes out of the window. If you want something, and the person selling doesn't want or need to sell, you have to pay well above market value to get hold of it. Precisely - the more I think about it, the more baffling it is that a Premier League team would come in with an offer that low for a player with such obvious promise. Col - I'm not buying this "unproven in the Premier League". It's obvious he's a great player with massive potential, and for someone so young in his position to be playing with such composure - it's a very rare quality. He's not going to hit 25 and turn shit, he's 20 and already very good. To offer us - a team free of debt and at the top of the league on merit with a great close-knit squad - £2 million pounds is just lazy.
Lesta Legend Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Interesting one this. 2m is a decent sum of money these days. Im delighted we've rejected it and this must show we really rate Moore and that we intend to get promoted! 2 Million is decent sum of money, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Grandpa, this isn't 1990. It's a insult. Fulham are the biggest tinpot club in england. They are a 2nd division club at best. They're a tourist attraction for tourists wanting to sample english soccer. Hope they down and go bust. Yes exactly, so as I originally said, we aren't in a great place financially. We are in a better place than most other clubs, I think thats the point Absolutely With our owners backing us we're clearly fine financially and if we get promotion I'd use the word secure, we do need to tighten up drastically meet ffp and without the owners we'd be up dog poo creak
FoxG2 Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Fulham have placed a £2mill bid for Liam Moore, it has been rejected by the club. Is this the first of things to come for our out of contract players?
Mack Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Transfer window forum mate. Loads about this there already. And no,he's not out of contract in the summer.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Liam's not out of contract is he? Can confirm he is not #itk
Leicesterpool Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Can't see him going to be honest, i mean what he is going to gain really. Going to a club that is seriously going down!
Babylon Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Yes exactly, so as I originally said, we aren't in a great place financially. Well we are as the losses look like they have basically already been written off. Of the 11 we are losing we don't want the majority so there is a decent chunk saved. Reduced terms or releasing one or two of the others and you are nearly there. We certainly aren't in a position by the looks of it that a couple of million would make us snap their hands off.
Legend_in_blue Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Cant understand how a smaller club expects to poach a player for such a derisory fee. I wouldn't have even bothered declining it. Ignore.
Master Fox Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Fulham really are such a tinpot shambles club that they belong in league 1. How dare they, how bloody dare they think waving chump change at our prestigious club for our own academy starlet Liam Moore is acceptable. We'll be shitting down on them soon enough. Let's see how they like it being in championship when premier league clubs try and come in with scraps for some of their players with potential. Everything that is wrong football summed up in this bid. Fulham can go fvck themselves.
