Liam Moore subject to a bid from Fulham.

I agree that we shouldn't sell him. But a lot of people on here are overrating him. He has been solid. Defenders never command as much of a fee as attackers/midfielders do, so to compare with other recent big money moves is futile.

We shouldn't cash in, but let's be realistic. He's playing well in a team that is playing well.

When you look at how much Everton paid for John Stones, then Liam Moore is worth a lot more that £4m.

£3million? Moore isn't that much better than he was. Stones is younger too.

He'd barely played. And how do you know he's better? Watched him in all his games. Moore is first choice for the table toppers, Stones played about 15 games for Barnsley.

I didn't say he was better? Nor do I claim to have watched all his games. Admittedly I only saw Stones in Highlights, but he was solid for a poor team. Moore is a good, young English player with plenty of potential. Some of the fees being bandied about is just silly. I think he's a very good player, but not worth £6/7million+.

At the end of the day, Moore is only worth what someone is willing to pay. So I guess we'll have to wait and see.

My mistake misread and thought you said Stones was better. Still he looked ok at Barnsley in 15 or so games. Does Moore not look solid at Leicester in 40 or so games?

Barnsley will have had to sell Stones, they need the cash. And that £3m probably bought them a few players or balanced the books. We don't need or want to sell, so expecting a team to pay two or three times what Everton did for Stones isn't unreasonable.

As I have said a few times - I rate Moore. He is a solid and consistent player. I agree that Barnsley will have had more reason to sell Stones than we do to sell Moore.

We can expect people to pay all the money in the world for a player. Doesn't mean they will. £9million is laughable, right now.

It's not because we don't want to sell him. So Fulham can keep coming back increasing their bid until it's too good to be true. And if the owners and manager decide we can hold out right up to £9m or £15m or £25m then so be it, that's what team will have to pay to sign him.

Okay, this is getting silly. Clearly we're not going to agree on this.

We can ask for however much we want, but that doesn't mean anyone will ever pay that amount. He is only worth what someone is willing to pay!

I agree to disagree.

I agree, best to agree to disagree. This is going nowhere, hopefully neither is LM.

Well we kind of agree because we both agree no club will be pay the amount we'd accept because we don't need or want to sell him.

£4m is paltry amount, I would only consider selling him if a) £6m and a sell on clause

b) the money is given to NP to spend in January

Otherwise it is pointless to sell one of our assets who could well onto play for England in the future.

We need to keep players like Liam if we want to get up to the promised land and stay there. The money is nothing compared to what we will get going up so I carnt see topp agreeing to sell him.

No reason to sell. Break up a winning team for some quick cash that in turn would risk us losing out on so much more? Fulham are going down as well. No, no, no.

Why sell, but every player has a price, think he is worth far more than £4 million to us. For him he is playing and learning at a decent level for his local team. Would imagine he is on a decent wage and would hope the offer of a few more quid doesn't turn his head. He would have been around with the likes of Joe Mattock and witnessed how his career has progressed. Nowhere near a finished article and even in division 1 he was found out. Keane from Man utd is raved about but is far from the finished article, Vardy made him look poor last week and Utd think he will play for England. Don't know how much older Moore is than him but he is a class above Keane at the moment.

You cannot stop clubs putting bids in for players but Fulham seem way off the mark. When we get promoted would our fans get excited if we put in a cheeky bid of £50 million for Messi

Would be a ridiculous fee 2 accept.

We are top of the league and he's a first team regular.

It would cost that to replace him and also disrupt our squad.

Could take 6 weeks for a new man to settle in a key position.

That could cost us promotion as I have said they should put 30mil on his head.

And thats cheap if he went and we messed it up and missed out.

We don't need to sell so if anyone wants a key member of the squad they should pay well over the odds,

Very sensible logic. I couldn't agree more.

If these reports are true then Fulham aren' t very good at negotiating. Imagine if you were making an offer on a house.

I'll give you £200,000. No thanks.

OK how about £400,000 ....

..... hmmm...

If those offers are really true then I'd twist at least one more time.

I honestly think the owners may start seeing pound signs and consider 4 million! Hope im wrong though :(

Why would they see pound signs for the sale of a key player and not for the potential massive windfall of keeping a winning squad together and promotion?

Given their recent actions they hardly seem to be desperate to cash in on whatever assets they have.

We don't need to sell and how much would a replacement cost and probably with higher wages. Think most on here think he can step upto the premiership myself included so why sell.

Even if the owners were considering it I honestly couldn't see the lad wanting to leave. Seems illogical whatever way you look at it.
