Liam Moore subject to a bid from Fulham.

It's probably a testing the water/starting bid to see if we are prepared to sell at the right price. I was thinking along the lines of just ignore it as posted above but the club have done the right thing by rejecting it then informing Fulham that he 'isn't for sale.' I think the only thing that will make this happen is if Moore kicks off, and I can't see that happening. Pearson said at the start of January that no one is for sale, selling first team players now would be suicide, financially we are in a very good position so there is no pressure on us there either. Plus Fulham are in a precarious position in the prem, he is in a great position to get promoted with his boyhood club, his team, and could go on to be a legend for us. Our owners have said right from the start that their aim is firstly to get promotion to the prem, consolidation before challenging in the top half of the prem, words are cheap I know but they have shown ambition from the day they have arrived here and if Pearson gains promotion I'm sure they will back him and and with Walsh's scouting we can build a strong premiership team. We're a team very much on the up compared to Fulham who are in a period of transition which could go either way for them, leaving could be a mistake for Liam.

We're at that point in the season where the financial worth of promotion is worth more than anyone is prepared to bid for our players.

Although I do wonder whether all these press articles are his agent drumming up column inches ahead of contract renewal time (just like two years ago where he was linked with Arsenal and Man U, only for all the press speculation to disappear overnight once the ink was on his new contract).

Cant understand how a smaller club expects to poach a player for such a derisory fee.

I wouldn't have even bothered declining it.

Ignore.

lol

'Dear Fulham,

We won't even dignify that with an answer,

From Leicester'

We won't accept £2m for a player of Moore's quality and importance. It's not even worth discussing the proposed fee, insulting.

Moore won't want to leave the club he's supported since he was a boy whilst they're top of the Championship. How many of us would love to be a home grown academy product playing for a Leicester City side in their best position for over a decade? How many of us would risk all of that to be in and out of the first XI for a relegation threatened side whilst you watch the team you've loved since you were a boy and for whom you were a regular not four months earlier take your place in the Premier League?

You'd have to be the most almighty tit to fancy it.

Moore doesn't strike me as a tit.

I can't believe people are having a go at Stearman and saying he made a shit career choice.

He was either going to be playing League One with us or getting a pay rise to go to Wolves in the Premier League.

Complete no brainer.

We wonder why people call us arrogant?

Yes £2M isn't a good offer. But I don't understand the 'tinpot'/'small club' circle-jerk in here. We sound like Leeds fans to be honest.

That makes baby Jesus cry.

Stearman's played more Premier League football than Leicester City in the last year and certainly no more League One football than Leicester City too so far. That speaks for itself.

Never got the resentment or hatred some had for Stearman. The lad was actually pretty decent for us when he came through and could never be accussed of not caring or not giving it his all. The year we went down he actually did pretty well at the end of season awards if I remember rightly too, so he was certainly one of the last who could/should have been blamed for us going down.

Worse case scenario and he does leave, centre half cover is one our stronger areas. Having said that, I can't see him moving to Fulham and risk being in the same division he's in now for the foreseeable future.

You realise what this could mean if it goes through ??

Return of the Zak,
It is,
Return of the Zak,
Come on,
Return of the Zak,
Oh, my god,
You know that I'll be back,
Here I am.

Nope.

2m quid for a yet unproven (At Prem level) young lad is a decent opening bid. Of course we know how good he is, and the signs are he'll only get better. But theres not a huge amount of money around at present. FFP will hit the Premiership next season is it?

A couple of years ago I'd have seen this offer as derisory. But with young Liam, any side will be buying POTENTIAL. And a couple of million, I maintain is not a bad starting bid. If that offer gets increased to 3 or 4 million, City might have to seriously think before turning it down. Personally, I see Moore as the future of our defence. But money talks, as we all know.

What I'm saying is I doubt this might be as clear cut as you think? If a Prem club want him and make a realistic offer, they may well get him.

Take Saha for example. He went to UTD for a sum of money which now looks crazy in the current financial climate. And has hardly featured.

Nick Powell went for 6 million and he hadn't even played Championship football.

Moore needs to follow in the footsteps of Heskey. Emile had the same sort of interest at this age. He bided his time, learnt his trade, paid his dues and got his reward.

For Liam to even contemplate signing for a Fulham, West Ham, West Brom or some other lower league premier club would be a waste of a promising career. Provided this club goes up there's nothing he will gain in a footballing sense from signing for a club like that.

I doubt he would go and the bid suggests Fulham had scouts out on Friday who saw Moore for the first time and thought boss we've got an unearthed gem here cheeky 2 mill bid.

agree with a lot of this. I really hope liam can see that whatever happens this season. Fulham, west brom etc are not a career move. If we go up he can show his talents in the top flight with us. If we dont one more year in the championship wont kill him.

if he continues to progress as he has he will play for bigger clubs than those he is currently being linked with.

Fulham really are such a tinpot shambles club that they belong in league 1. How dare they, how bloody dare they think waving chump change at our prestigious club for our own academy starlet Liam Moore is acceptable. We'll be shitting down on them soon enough. Let's see how they like it being in championship when premier league clubs try and come in with scraps for some of their players with potential. Everything that is wrong football summed up in this bid.

Fulham can go fvck themselves.

Richard Stearman ... good career move.

Not bad at all was it. Won the championship in his first season and got into the PFA team of the year. Then played in over 70 games in the premiership.

A better example of a bad career move would be Joe Mattock.

Tubes (from off here) still owes me £100, when Stearman broke into the Leicester side he bet me Stearman would play for the England senior side.

Doesn't the, The Year Of The Fox owe us some money also? I'm sure it was something Steven Gerrard related in general sport.
