Babylon Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Funny isn't it that people who've sided with the club taking the moral high ground over the word 'idiot' have said things far worse about a bloke they're judging by one picture They are also judging him based on the admitted fact he called a member of staff in the club shop an idiot... not just his picture.
cityfanlee23 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 To be honest.... It's a 3 match ban... Hardly the end of the world... If it was a life ban then I would get more involved.. but frankly I don't care.. So he's turning all the Tvs off whilst fans are trying to see the half time scores? Why would you feel the need to do that? Then calling someone working in the store an "Idiot" Why again? Can you imagine if you were stood next to him and it was your son he was calling an idiot? So why should the club not stand up for it's staff an customers? Although it's probably a knee jerk banning for such a little offence, I cannot understand why a human being would see it neccessary to do that? Why not just be civilised and respectable? Mad world..
cityfanlee23 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Find it hard to believe that it was as cut and dry as that makes out. Having said that, banning him from games seems abit over the top. Just ban him from the store. As you said, It's probably not as cut and dry as the people defending him make out... Obviously this was acted upon as he has been banned, so as he was calling staff an idiot and turning the tvs off when fans were looking at them, someone from either security or the club officials must have stepped in and asked him to leave... To which I would expect he probably caused a scene... At the end of the day, Somebody who is going into fanstores and disrupting other fans peace, calling staff idiots and turning tv's off, is hardly going to make a quiet exit. Sounds like a stupid thing to do IMO and no reason for it to have happened... Based on that, I would probably say the mindset of this bloke is that of little intelligence, However I could be wrong.. All I know, is that I have met many intelligent people who respect others, and I couldnt see any doing petty things like that....
Babylon Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Why not just be civilised and respectable? Mad world.. As a few others have mentioned, it's the mentality of going to the football. What people do there, they wouldn't dream of doing elsewhere.

Very good point, In that case I'm glad he's banned, teach him a lesson... I know it's a really petty thing that he done, but someone with that mindset of purposely disrupting others for absolutely no reason, is pretty pointless! and achieved nothing but hassel for himself.. Maybe I am an outcast? I go to the pub, Have 1 pint, maybe have a laugh with some other fans... I go to the match, sing my heart out.. enjoy the game. Then I leave the stadium, go to the car, and return home.... (Unless we are staying in leicester for the night then we get a hotel and go to the pub for a celebratory) In between those milestones of activity, I cause no trouble, and do not look to cause trouble. If any is arising nearby, I simply. Walk away... Why can others not do this?

You didn't read the story properly, a member of staff switched the TVs over to the on-pitch cameras, to which the bloke objected, followed up by a few rude words.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 If the bloke in question has a modicum of sense, he should show some humility, go into the club profusely apologise for his overreaction and hope that the club review their decision.
Strokes Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 As a few others have mentioned, it's the mentality of going to the football. What people do there, they wouldn't dream of doing elsewhere. What like eating pukka pies?
kingfox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Why the fvck would you report it to the FSF for Christ sake, he's called someone an idiot and been told he's got to be a good boy, he's not been chucked away after being man handled by the police. If you were going about your job after being told by your manager to turn the screens off and that guy in an oversized coat and a 5 year old shirt came over and called you an idiot, would you duly oblige? There's one thing working in retail, there's another getting called names by bellends like this. Of all the manners to approach people, he chose to use this one, so he'll have to pay the price. Stop being a good boy, and post something controversial for a change
cityfanlee23 Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 You didn't read the story properly, a member of staff switched the TVs over to the on-pitch cameras, to which the bloke objected, followed up by a few rude words. Ohh I see, So the club shop is run by him now? I can understand that he wanted to see the scores, but why was he in the club shop at half time? And if its the norm for the shop to switch the Tv's over to the pitch cameras.. then why is there a problem? and why the need for the "Rude words" Sounds Like a petty ban, for something that an over reacting fan has created... Again I cannot speak for others, but personally. I wouldnt "abuse" staff for the sake of the half time scores... Half time lasts 15 minutes, the half time scores are probably posted 10x in that time? and just incase your peepers are not too clever, there is a bloke screaming through a tannoy that sounds a bit like an air raid siren telling us the scores I don't know in this case who is in the wrong.... but there is always someone who takes it too far, I was not there so I don't want to speculate, but I'd be very surprised if the people defending him are not biased.. and would be very very surprised if it was not as easy as they make out..
Dan Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 He looks like a fatter version of Iain Dowie. I have told him this before
Strokes Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Surely the guy had a mobile phone he could have got the scores from, what an idiot.
sylofox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Funny isn't it that people who've sided with the club taking the moral high ground over the word 'idiot' have said things far worse about a bloke they're judging by one picture No dan as I have said from the start he never got banned for just calling the guy an idiot. His version he was with and said it 2 his 5yr old Then someone comes on supporting him but admits he can get carried away with his gob. (But he has to believe him) Then his supposed older son claims it was said to him not a five year old and he did not use the word idiot. We will never get the full truth but one or 2 of them are telling a different story to eachother and one possibly both are telling lies.

His son is 13, not 5, I think that's quite a significant difference. I know him as well - and to be honest there's not a lot I can add on top of what Dunge said as it's all spot on. I don't think either Steve or LCFC have come out of this looking good.
Aus Fox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 What game was this when it happened? I'd love it if it was the Derby game!
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Three match ban and good behaviour contracts seem a bit over the top. Maybe what should have happened is what happens in any other retail outlet where someone is rude.. the guy being asked to leave the store? Seems to be a tough one to weigh up based on the past behaviour of both parties involved. People here saying this guy is rude in general but then the staff in the store are idiots in general as well... makes it tough to know who's right or wrong in many senses! After what i happened in the ticket office with me the club were contemplating banning me according to a club rep but no action was taken. The same club rep has said to me nothing links the two. As we actually had a laugh together how i got nothing for my appalling behavior yet my dads did. What happened in the ticket office with you?
Unabomber Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 By the time all this shit has been sorted the ban will be over anyway.
suffolk fox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 this injustice really puts the Mandela irrelevancy in to perspective. Jeeps this is getting serious now was he in the ticket office too? Maybe it's the second coming?
Larry_LCFC Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 When did all this actually happen? Which match
Kitchandro Posted 14 January 2014 Author Posted 14 January 2014 Ok even I don't care now. Wish I hadn't started this!
Soar Fox Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 I'd love it if it was the Derby game! I was under the impression it was the Derby game then realised they wouldn't have had any scores coming in. So it must have been the Bolton game which was over 2 weeks ago. So why has this story only surfaced now?
Larry_LCFC Posted 14 January 2014 Posted 14 January 2014 Ok even I don't care now. Wish I hadn't started this! Too late now Steve
