Silverdaz Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 As it look like it is 2 out of the top three for promotion (I hope we are one of them) just wondering which strike pairing people would prefer if they had the choice out of the top three clubs. Nugent Vardy Vokes Ings Austin. Personally I would go with Austin and Vardy
foxfanazer Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 If someone offered me now I'd honestly stick
Ric Flair Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 I'm sure value wise Ings and Austin are worth more and individually score the most goals but the way Vardy and Nugent have started to work together i'd not want to swap either of them right now.
Guest Col city fan Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 If someone offered me now I'd honestly stickThis..We currently have the best strike pairing in the division IMO. You imagine playing against Vardy He'd be a bloody nightmare to mark. Scampering about, snapping at your heels, playing off your shoulder. The goal against QPR epitomised Vardy. He mullered their ageing central defenders with his pace. And Nugent pretty much the same.

Bayfox Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 You've answered you own question in the title. Nuge and Vardy ARE a paring, we have no idea if vardy could play with austin or ings, I actually thing Austin is a bit more of a target man and moves the width of the 18 yard box and not much else. We have 2 mobile strikers both of whom can run the channels and drop off, with the added bonus vardys pace gets him in behind as well, vardy trying to supply a centre forward who doesn't link up that well wouldn't work.

Exactly. All about the partnership!
Silverdaz Posted 21 January 2014 Author Posted 21 January 2014 Ok well it looks like that was a waste of a topic to discuss
shade Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 i like the fact that jamie vardy looks like albert steptoe!

Fox92 Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 But I wouldn't say no to Ings. He does look like a complete striker who, I believe, will play for a PL side.
FoxInTheBox89 Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Top of the league. Five points clear. . . I dont think il'd change anything
Carl the Llama Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Nuge and Vardy, buy Ings as competition in the summer.
Guest MattP Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Vardy and Austin. But I'm more than happy with the Noog at the minute.
I blame Wellens Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 Now? In the championship? Nuge and Vardy Next year in the prem? Man city and Liverpool have a couple of good strikers may be we could get them for 4 million?
Jakemoore Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 I'm happy with what we got. They may not be the highest scoring pair in the league but their work rates create goals for the rest of the team! And I think vardy would beat any of the above for pace. I wouldn't swap any of our team for anyone else. We're top and they're not.
