RookeryHorn Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 This is a genuine question by the way, not a dig or trying to take the piss, actually interested to know why. Why do some Leicester fans, appear very pissed off at how we celebrated in that game? Can I ask if you would have done anything different? At home to someone at the time irrelevant... say Reading, you'd lost 1-0 to Reading at the Madejski a few days before, then in this game you take the lead, equalised, take the lead again, and then in the last minute, with it going to extra time, Gareth McCleary win's a penalty and goes to take it, you can't even watch because your season is about to end like this and Reading are about to go to Wembley. Then Kasper brilliantly saves, limps to block a rebound and you clear, within 7 seconds you've counter attacked and hit the back of the net with the game well and truly done. Would you not have run on the pitch at the KP when Nugent put that 97th minute winner in? Would you not have celebrated after going on (one ****ing huge) roller coaster of emotion from that to that in the space of 20 seconds? Would your match PA not have been announcing "we're going to Wembley!" in the midst of the chaos. Undoubtedly, some idiots rather than marvelling in the atmosphere probably ran straight to you guys and gave it large, that's football, they'll get it back (well they did) - I personally sprinted to Nugent to scream in his face asking the score, purely because I vividly remembered him equalising and celebrating in front of the Rookery, but then I also didn't throw my toys out the pram when Dyer and co celebrated in front of us at 1-0 this season, it's swings and roundabouts. Anyway - hopefully after Saturday (not looking hopeful I must admit, but it's football, anything could happen) we can both kick on and put this faux rivalry behind us, you're looking the real deal and will fly on home to the title, well we're now looking at mid table and trying to build for a push next season.
Fox92 Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Got nothing against Watford personally, there's no rivalry of any kind imo, the only thing that gets on my nerves is how certain fans still bang on about the goal because you didn't go on to win promotion.
Lambert09 Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Agree with this, I have no animosity towards Watford. It was hard to take but you guys didnt do that much wrong imo

I'm not pissed off at the way you celebrated, I'll admit I was ready to invade your pitch with hundreds of other Leicester fans and dance about in front of you all however Knockaert missed - Hey ho, congratulations. What I am pissed off with though is the fact your fans cant drop the Knockaert thing and you're obsessed with him majorly seriously move on we have.
Fox in the North Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Got nothing with how you celebrated, just the way the majority of your fans can't stop obsessing with us...
xHamzah Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Another genuine question here, score that goal and be placed 13th or be top of the championship?
foxfanazer Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I would've gone mental if we'd have scored in those circumstances no doubt. I do find it laughable that one of your fans said they'd rather have that memory than be top like Leicester are now. Seems the mentality of quite a few Watford fans. In my eyes we have no rivalry with Watford, just another run of the mill championship side that did well last season amd have failed to kick on. Was nice to beat you so comprehensively this season though Think we'll win on saturday if we approach it with the right attitude but after that, shake hands and good luck fpr the rest of the season
Harry - LCFC Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I'm annoyed at the Udinese and Granada link more than anything. The fact that we lost in the POs to you doesn't make me angry as such but it did make me want to win our game at Vicarage Road much more than usual.
Bert Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Our PA wouldn't have been starting songs like yours would've, nor would our mascot have recreated "that" goal the season after. There's never ever been a pitch invasion at the King Power. For some reason it either never happens and the club are actually pretty decent at putting stops into practice. Can handle the pitch invasion and fans trying to goad us and the players but you'd expect a bit more class from a Public Address.

Don't think there are any of us left who care about Watford any more than any of the other mid-table dross, but if there are that's probably why.
OxfordshireFox Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I would of done the same but screaming in players faces.....really?.It was a harsh and stupid thing to do, also the fact that you still mention it is ridiculous.Apart from that I have no hatred for you for running on the pitch etc as you said we've had done the same.....
Bluetintedspecs Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Agree horn, we'd have celebrated wildly too, why wouldn't you, especially how it played out? The nature of the defeat those few second is what is gutting to fans of any team who suffer that! COYB.
ealingfox Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I am genuinely quite confident that we wouldn't have had a pitch invasion for winning a semi-final.
Craig Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I am genuinely quite confident that we wouldn't have had a pitch invasion for winning a semi-final. It was the best moment in their club's history though. Bit different.
Bert Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I am genuinely quite confident that we wouldn't have had a pitch invasion for winning a semi-final.At that point the game was due to go to extra time (before the pen) so we wouldn't have had the time etc to get the stewards in place because they'd still be in their positions they take up for the match so it could've actually happened then.
KFS Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 1) you invaded the pitch before actually winning anything, so no I wouldn't be on the pitch in that scenario. 2) you ran and celebrated in a players face instead of celebrating the occasion because he'd previously celebrated against you? Again, no, I wouldn't do that, because I'm not a fvcking retard.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 After such am amazing end to a playoff epic the next time we meet what happens ? You play the smart arse and insult us with a childish reenactment by your mascot and now your back with such a load of crap. Your clubs plan is in tatters HA ****ING HA
MattGamble92 Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 You are a mediocre mid table side full of foreigners. You are a nothing club in every sense of the term. Enjoy watching 'that goal' over and over again while we enjoy the premier league won't you? Twat
One Legged Beaver Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I was rather irritated at the time but admittedly it was all just sour grapes. However these days in retrospect I find the celebrations more comical than anything. Pitch invasion before the game had finished for what might have been, and turned out to be, the winner in a semi-final, and then beaten in the final a few weeks later meaning the goal was rather irrelevant in how the season ended.
deejdeej Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Don't really blame you lot for how you reacted, the buzz must have been insane. When we got relegated on that horrible day at Stoke, the fans going on the pitch minutes before the final whistle was ten times worse.
Lakestar Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 You have your fair share of cretin fans at any club but I don't debate the way the majority of your fans celebrated in the fashion you won the game. But it seemed more important to 'those select few' fans to humiliate/taunt the away fans and players than celebrating with your own. Not forgetting the arrogance of your forum last season and your mascots (if that's what you can call it) antics this season before the game. All worth it for knockys goal celebrations, result and league positions this year though. All the best for the season.
Deucalion Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I was at Watford when Muzzy Izzett scored to secure Leicester an unlikely playoff place. This same goal also condemned Watford to relegation to the third tier of English football. Whele Leicester fans were delighted with the result and the chance (which we took) to get promoted, I don't remember anyone rubbing it in with the Watford fans who had been relegated. In fact, on the walk back to the car I tried to keep my delight under wraps because Watford fans looked so crestfallen. Personally I think we handled that situation with a little more class !!
C-man Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 I didn't even notice their fans at the time to be honest - I literally hit the deck and hid behind the seats like a little kid. Pathetic. Still couldn't really give a fvck about Watford, Luton are more of a rival IMO.
westernpark Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Because it seems like you're still celebrating, with posts like these.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 4 February 2014 Posted 4 February 2014 Personally I think we handled that situation with a little more class !! That's because we are a small time tin pot club, where as in fact we do have a lot about us that is often ignored or overlooked
