Soup Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Just looking at buying tickets for this and there is still loads of empty seats left. Once again I urge you to start from SK2 and work towards SK1. I do not understand the plan of doing the same as the Fosse Boys. People who are unsure whether to make the move will be put off straight away by the segregated nature of the group. If you're going to do it in SK1 at least do it on the side closest to SK2. The yellow area is filling up nicely, let's not complicate things at this stage.Let's see how it goes and take it from there.
Dr The Singh Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 I think the fosse boys failed more due to their lack of organisation, appreciation for other fans and communication to the club, it was soon stamped down on and petered out.. This seems very different so far They couldn't match the real fosse boys!!
Soup Posted 17 February 2014 Posted 17 February 2014 Not by the look of that diagram. The yellow seats are very in the corner. There are still masses of empty seats on the right hand side of the picture. The blue seats are the furthest in the corner, next to G1.The yellow area has been chosen simply because there are plenty of seats, but the ones that are there don't stop singing, which is what got me over there. The area your going on about isn't that far away. They do sing yes but not half as much, and the point of this is to sing the whole game.
Union FS Posted 17 February 2014 Author Posted 17 February 2014 Just to answer a few queries: Just looking at buying tickets for this and there is still loads of empty seats left. Absolutely accept that view and it's something we'll consider going forward, but the long-run intention is in any case to bridge that gap - hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later. The main reason we started where we have done is that there is already an established group of singers there that can be built on. Once the block is 80% full, we will start encouraging people to target the next block along in direction SK2. One thing we would say, however, is that the most important thing is that those who are committed to making the move enjoy it and want to do it again. That should be the case regardless of which part of SK1 we start in. Is this going to be a one game thing or are people planning to use sk1 on a weekly basis?Booking my flight back to England at some point this week for the final few games of the season, so i'd love to be a part of it, if it's still going when i get there! Hopefully in the future it will be a permanent fixture in the ground, but we know we are a way off doing that at this stage. It'll all depend on the overall reaction to the initial trial - from the club, the stewards, the fans involved, the fans nearby etc. If it's a success, we are looking to do it again for the Sheffield Wednesday game on 5 April. If that's another success then we can go big for the QPR game on 19 April (which will hopefully suit you?), but we'll take it one game at a time for now.
1964FOX Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 Completely agree about filling the gap between SK1 and 2, we are on the edge of the yellow area and sing pretty much most of the game and sometimes sing along with a group in Sk2 which then can get the whole group going. As described if we can slowly uh the gap we should have a very decent section but I agree with the slow and steady build up.
CPW22 Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 I am not convinced that any gap between signing sections in SK1 and SK2 will have any negative impact for this game. During the Bolton game the Anderlecht fans were in JTT, just along from the fans signing at the back of SK4. If anything more fans got involved because they were surrounded by signing on both sides.
tomtom Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 That being said, will we see you over there with us? We have season tickets on the back row just to your left as you'll be standing so we'll shuffle over
JonnyBoy Posted 18 February 2014 Posted 18 February 2014 This is a fair post, but we would like to make clear that we are not trying to break up L1. As you say in your final paragraph we are simply trying to unite the pockets across the remainder of the Stadium. As for the queries regarding where we are specifically targeting, this diagram may help. The intention is to fill the yellow area at first (well on the way), moving right as you look at the below through the purple and pink areas until you join up with the singers already positioned from around 210. We understand that this is not going to happen overnight and getting such a number for the game against Charlton is potentially an unrealistic target, however as we move towards the end of the season and into next we feel as though occupying this entire area is achievable. Worth noting that the vast majority of this area is currently empty so there is plenty of room for people to move into. this is brilliant, will try and get a ticket in the yellow section
C-man Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 this is brilliant, will try and get a ticket in the yellow section You'll have no issues - looks like there's 20 seats left from JJ upwards. Rows HH, GG and FF are still completely free.
tomtom Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Is this being organised by the lad who takes or used to take the flag?
AndWhat? Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Is this being organised by the lad who takes or used to take the flag? Nope, he came to the first meeting though
tomtom Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Nope, he came to the first meeting though Did he face the right way during the meeting?
Tommy G Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 This will be a laugh with the stewards All you have to do is as much as cough and they quickly file up the stairs to stop all the fun. As a STH in SK1 i am expecting it to be much better as usually there are a few teens singing in partly broken voices on the top few words, it sounds awful as only about 10 join in

Dan Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Did he face the right way during the meeting? Love it. He's a good lad to be fair, loves a drink or thirty. deejdeej Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Just got my tickets for this, sat there a few times this season and it could be a great place to start the noise and over time expand. Obviously its not a new idea but well done for the planning, I can see this working. Cant wait!
SeCrEt FoX Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Got mine . Cant wait for this. Hope its not an anti climax
AndWhat? Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 I am 100% certain that if everyone turns up with the right attitude this will be decent.
cityfanlee23 Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 I am 100% certain that if everyone turns up with the right attitude this will be decent. What time are we all going to get to the stadium and take our spot? I think we should get there slightly earlier than we usually would.
AndWhat? Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 What time are we all going to get to the stadium and take our spot? I think we should get there slightly earlier than we usually would. Yeah I agree, think we should aim for 2:30 personally, but when I'm in a pub enjoying some beers it might be a bit harder to convince me and all my mates....
The Year Of The Fox Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Did anyone notice the other night at forest how the fans that were above us to the right picked up immediately on what their A Block was singing? They were loud as fcuk the other night. This SK1 business needs to happen and needs to be the link from L to the Kop. I hope you get the club onside for this.
