ealingfox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Liam should be back in time for the match, does he slot straight back in to the side? I think Wasilewski has been pretty good since Boro, but its no longer a case of not changing a winning side. Both have potentially helpful qualities for a match like this. Wasyl's got steel and could be useful against Billy's hoofball crosses and set-piece tactics, whilst Liam's got a bit moore pace and probably a bit more PASHUN on such an occasion. Thoughts?
Simonb Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 itll be wasyl, moore wont be ready for action yet surely???
MikeyT Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 If fully fit I'd prefer Moore in, but Wasilewski is more than capable.
Father Ted Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I trust Nigel to make the correct decision. Completely torn between the two.
Xen Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 If he's fit, I'd be tempted to put Moore on the bench. Nothing more. We're top of the league by a considerable amount, and on an undefeated run of 11 games. We've got a massive cushion to 2nd/3rd place, so there's absolutely no reason to rush back a player before they're 100% fit and risk injuring them again.
foxfanazer Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Rate them both so not too worried. Both have their own individual strengths and weaknesses. Was is solid and aerially strong but is pretty slow and sometimes looks like a red card waiting to happen. Moore is quick (ish) and throws himself in front of everything and has better distribution than Was. He sometimes has a lapse of concentration and sometimes can be caught out of position Moore just edges it for me. Think Forest will come to early though
surrifox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I doubt they will risk Liam - give him a bit longer - broken ribs are nasty
MrSpaM Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Not sure what Was has done to deserve getting dropped to the bench in all honesty, especially for a player that is only just coming back from injury.
westernpark Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Wasilewski has very good technique, whether it's an elbow or 50 yard pass. Moore has one attribute over him and that's pace. Depends who Forest play upfront.
andog Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Our average goals conceded per game is the lowest when Moore's started, out of all our defenders. So if he's 100% fit, play him. If not 100% then stick with Was and Wes.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Moore. I've changed my view on Wasilewski and don't think he has the class I first thought he did have. He looks like an accident waiting to happen at the minute, be that getting outdone for pace through the middle or stupidly getting himself sent off when we really need the full 11 on the pitch.
Jakemoore Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 In a high pressured, top of the league, away day clash at forest, was is liable to throw an elbow. We've seen it 2 or 3 times already this season. Having said that, I'd be surprised to see Liam back already so it'll probably have to be Wasl!
GingerrrFox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I doubt Nigel will risk him for the Forest game. I imagine they will err on the side of caution to make sure he's fully recovered rather than jepoardising him for a longer period of time. Have no worries about Wasyl myself, he's solid enough.
ealingfox Posted 12 February 2014 Author Posted 12 February 2014 Thing is, Wasyl has done the elbowing thing numerous times now and there's never been any question of trouble for him. Either he's too good at doing it to get clocked or refs are just too scared to discipline him, either way we're fine.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Wasyl hasn't done much wrong so far, he's been waiting for his chance for a run in the side and it would be harsh to take him out just because Moore has come back. What kind of of message does it give to other benchers at the moment if they know even if they play well they will be dropped?
MPH Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I think if we play wasilewski then he will be seen as a weak link because of his lack of pace. Let's face it- that's as much of a weakness they will be able to find. But if we play a not fully fit Moore then that could be a liability. All it will take is a very well placed 'accidental' elbow to his ribs and he's off and that's a sub used up...
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Wasi for me, but yes, a little worried he might do something silly. Moore probably isn't fit for a full game as yet.

What kind of of message does it give to other benchers at the moment if they know even if they play well they will be dropped? That's a great point, it wouldn't give the greatest mentality to the other current 'bench warmers'. Does that warrant not playing the better player though if he's 100% fit? Because for me, Moore is the better player. Tough one really.

Does that warrant not playing the better player though if he's 100% fit? Because for me, Moore is the better player. Tough one really. I think with our current crop of players, they're all aware that they have to earn the right to be able to play on matchdays. Now, whether they earn that right by doing well in games, or putting in performances on the training ground (something which seemingly gets overlooked by fans a lot of the time, myself included) is irrelevant. If Was has been having an absolute mare in the training sessions before the match, whereas Moore (or Miquel, or anyone else for that matter) has been showing themselves to be consistently better, then Was would have no grounds to complain if he was dropped. Same goes for any position on the pitch. We'll have had 10 days off by the time we play Forest. Going on a players 'form' in the last league games isn't going to be as relevant, when we haven't seen their 'form' in training. Of course, this is all irrelevant if Moore isn't fit
MooseBreath Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Moore if he's fit. He's the better player. Wasyl has done ok but you should play your best players.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I love Wasyl. No reason to drop him at the moment, had solid matches and even got MOTM against Bournemouth. If a player is playing well don't drop him, simple as.
Culletonfox Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 I was impressed with Wasyl against Watford, he's distribution was good and his defending strong! Yes pace is not his strong point but nore is our clear chance finishing!!!! We are worrying about the wrong end in my opinion.
