Bayfox Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Not a red for Wes. Mackie's going away from goal and Wasilewski is covering him. In the ground I thought it wasn't a pen but probably is just for Morgan's clumsiness. Konchesky's is a red. He's been waiting for one of them for a while the way he flies into tackles like that. Ours is never a pen. Very much bought by Drinkwater but I think the ref was very willing to even things up for doubt about his earlier decisions! For our pen ref was never gonna give it. Was lino that flagged like a mad man.
Native Fox Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 From where us away fans were sat, never a penalty, looks worse from that angle.
chili_con_carne Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Credit where credits due. Looking at the highlights that was some header by Paterson
urban.spaceman Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies: "Wes Morgan was the luckiest player on the pitch. It was a clear goalscoring opportunity. "I had an exchange of words with the referee. I asked him why it was not a red card, he said that it was not a goalscoring opportunity. He sent me to the stand, for raising my voice" What a fully fledged lunatic. Never a penalty, a ever. I guarantee I'd say that even if it was given in iur favour.
Dan Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 How on ****ng earth was theirs a penalty? That's a free kick to us if anything. Ours was soft as shite, Drinkwater's done that in both games against them this year. Konchesky... tough one but he's given the ref a decision to make and I'm not going to moan about that one.
Dan Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Said at the time Wes was brought down and I stand by it after seeing it again. This. Absolutely appalling decision.
aussie-fox Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 anyone who thinks Konchesky's red was harsh, c'mon that was a disgraceful challenge. the only thing he wanted to do was kick him as hard as possible. completely deserves to be sent off for that.
Guest ttfn Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 There is no way that Forest penalty should have been given. Mackie just careered into Morgan - it's an obvious free kick and I'm not even sure Mackie thinks he's been fouled at any point. Konchesky's tackle was atrocious and deserved the red card and a three game plan. The very definition of "excessive force". Our penalty looks soft from that angle, brilliant save by Darlow
Alexikokopops Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Hard to tell with Konchesky - if he went in studs up in the shin then I can understand it. If it was just a standard late challenge then it's a bit harsh. I echo everyone else's statements though. Wes And our penalty was pretty soft. Am I right in thinking that's not the first time this season that Drinkwater's gone down a bit easily? Not that I'm complaining.

He was looking for it but the Lino who had the best view gave it.
DennisNedry Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 At first viewing I thought it was a stonewall penalty for Forest but on re-viewing it, it's a clear foul on Morgan in the first place. The red card is difficult, it's one of those challenges that's too severe for a yellow but not really worthy of a red. Our penalty was another very iffy one!
Captain... Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 My verdict: Their Pen: Not much contact by Mackie on Wes, Wes tumbled into Mackie. My Call: Play-on, I can understand why the ref gave it, but I don't see why it would be a booking for Wes. Red Card: A hard, late lunge that could have injured the player. My Call: Has to be a red really, the ball was gone before he even started the tackle. Very silly from Konch. Our Pen: Not much contact, and no attempt to play the ball by either player. My Call: Play-on, but if you give the first pen you have to give the second so I can see why it was given. Ultimately you can't say the ref was wrong in any of the calls, even if you think they were soft penalties. I was only listening on the radio, so I'm not sure if he was a fussy ref all game, in which case you have to adapt to the ref. I seem to remember we had another penalty shout in the first half, anyone got a view on that?
AnotherShitSeason Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 BAHAHAHA If you ignore our celebrating players there's a great bit of great bit of scrapping at the back of the goal net. Reid vs Phillips?
beemeroo Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 If there is enough contact on Morgan to send him to ground, he should probably have avoided throwing himself to the ground and doing his party trick impression of the boulder from Indiana Jones.
Babylon Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 If you ignore our celebrating players there's a great bit of great bit of scrapping at the back of the goal net. Reid vs Phillips? I like watching the twit on the front row jump up and go wandering off pointing at something, almost oblivious to the fact we've just put the ball in the back of the net.
lcfcliam Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 My video I love how the forest fans cheer go quiet then we go mental!
filbertway Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 Still think Morgan wouldn't get knocked over by that contact, still think he's done down in a way to try and land on or in front of the ball to block the player. Absolute bullet from Paterson! Top save from Darlow for Kev's penalty. Happy Mahrez has managed to get on the score sheet.
billyn88 Posted 20 February 2014 Posted 20 February 2014 My video I love how the forest fans cheer go quiet then we go mental! Superb shot, and well done for not looking at the floor/roof! One thing I've noticed from this - obviously great celebration from the players and so they should do after scrapping back from being down to 10 men at a very tough place. However, I'm impressed at how quickly they're over it and look very determined to get back to work. From listening on the radio, it sounds like we could have nicked it and that was in the players' minds, not killing as much time as possible.

Funnily enough he went down quite easily at home vs Forest and got the penalty there. Which we missed. .
