Langston Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 That's a red for Wes in my eyes. Lucky boys tonight.
Foxhateram Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Wes moment of madness but not sure that's a pen? The guy grabs him by the shirt. Free kick leicester. Ref knew he was wrong because he restored karma by giving us a soft pen at the end. Alls fair in love and war. Konchesky tackle was a yellow at worst!? Just showed old heathy who was boss! Def not a red. This game has gone soft!
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 A few points. 1. Surely Wes should have been sent off? 2. Didn't think it was a red for Konch, see them sort of mistimed tackles every week in the champ, typical prem ref. 3. Am I the only one who thought ours was a pen, stupid clumsy challenge in the box. Drinkwater did what any clever would do and stopped so Paterson bundle him in the back.
MC Prussian Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 What was Morgan thinking? Completely lost it there for a second. That was clumsiness at its best. All in all, we're still prevailing, but our defensive play is a bit shabby at the moment.
KFS Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Am I the only one sitting here thinking, 'what the hell is that officiating?!'
C-man Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 And there are still people sat down on the front few rows when we are taking a penalty, when its saved and when it's knocked in at our local rivals in the 82nd minute when we're top of the league. What does it take to get these people excited?
Oxfordfox83 Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Am I the only one sitting here thinking, 'what the hell is that officiating?!' Nope. I do think the call for Morgan was right, he yanked the shirt which is a soft but standard pen, but not a red. Konch was harsh, yellow for me. DD a very soft pen, but if we'd had eleven I think we'd have equalised easily, so fair enough. Poor officiating, but don't think Forest can have too many complaints...

What does it take to get these people excited? Glad it wasn't just me that noticed that. Don't want the sitting vs standing to start again but seriously??!
Brooksy Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Dunno why Wes didn't just punt it in row z, strange decision. Koncheskys red looks nailed on and ours is never a peno in a million years But we'll take it haha
shade Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 And there are still people sat down on the front few rows when we are taking a penalty, when its saved and when it's knocked in at our local rivals in the 82nd minute when we're top of the league. What does it take to get these people excited? did you see the big wheels on their chairs?
Jfox Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Drinkwater won our peno in exactly the same way he won the one in the reverse fixture, by standing still and waiting for the challenge
TheUltimateWinner Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Tell you what, is it only me who thinks Mahrez & James's celebration mirrors Knockys & Marshalls from last season?
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Forest win they'll probably start to drop off after Burnley (hopefully) its in our own hands anyway! **** the others!!!
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Not a red for Wes. Mackie's going away from goal and Wasilewski is covering him. In the ground I thought it wasn't a pen but probably is just for Morgan's clumsiness. Konchesky's is a red. He's been waiting for one of them for a while the way he flies into tackles like that. Ours is never a pen. Very much bought by Drinkwater but I think the ref was very willing to even things up for doubt about his earlier decisions!
The Doctor Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 That ref was shit - Morgan - if anything he's pulled down, free kick city. Konchs red - soft as ****, mistimed and nothing more. Drinks pen - really soft, not a penalty.
C-man Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 did you see the big wheels on their chairs? Must have missed them - apologies. Didn't realise that's where the disabled area was to be fair.
XLM Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 In fairness we'd have wanted to see red if one of their players did what Konch did. Should have known better, any high tackle forces the ref to consider a sending off. 2 points from two very very tricky games. We can now crack on in a month where we play the bottom 3 teams and should pretty much seal our return to the top flight.
Lobsterboyuk Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Wes Konch very disappointing, ridiculously late for a heavy tackle like that and in the modern game got to expect a red.
urban.spaceman Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Definitely a red for Konchesky in my opinion; he's been an absolute liability this season and the weakest link in the team as far as I'm concerned. Our penalty was soft, so I suppose Kevin Phillips Bong missing it was justice in some way; glad Mahrez is off the mark Their penalty - WTF?!!?!!!!! The a Forest player doesn't even touch the ball in the process; Morgan had an absolute moment of madness but that was still never, ever in a billion years a penalty. Makes you wonder if the ref realised he had to make amends for his egregious mistake in the first half. Got to be honest, listening to Radio Leicester commentary I was only half aware that any of this stuff actually happened. Terriblè
ousefox Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Neither of those look like penalties! Particularly ours, but I'll take the luck we haven't had for years.
Bert Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Said at the time Wes was brought down and I stand by it after seeing it again.
Carl the Llama Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 My impressions: Wes penalty: Looking at the video replay it looks a very poor call - Mackie clearly puts his arm on Morgan and pushes him down causing the big man's stumble to turn into a tumble. That said if you're ballwatching you can't really see the arm and it looks like Wes clumsily rolls into him so I can see why it was given, but it's still an officiating error. Konch's red: First thought is that it was a hard but decent challenge only worth a yellow, but looking closely both feet do leave the ground and rules are rules so we can have no complaints. Our penalty: Contrary to popular opinion I actually feel this one's a better case than their pen - Paterson shows why he's not a defender by walking right into the back of Drinkwater. Now he's clearly looking for it and it is soft, but at least the initial contact actually came from the defending player in this circumstance. Verdict: Anthony Taylor needs a new optometrist.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 19 February 2014 Posted 19 February 2014 Said at the time Wes was brought down and I stand by it after seeing it again. Looks that way, their striker comes through the back and then just falls over and so does Wes, their player looks like he was continuing to play on too, but the ref blew the whistle and gave the pen...
