Please stop slagging off Lloyd Dyer on the radio

I dont understand the criticism of Lloyd. Theres so many plus points to his game the far outway the negatives yet some people on here and on the radio love to moan about him or want him dropped. Hes not the worst player on the field at the moment and not imo the first player of this team who should be dropped.

Fair enough he hasnt been up to his best at the moment but how hes played up till now you cant begrudge him a little dip in form.

Were 8 points clear at the top of the league. Hes a 3rd top scorer under nugent and vardy and played in most games this season.

Hes gotta be doing something right.

Anybody that moans about dyer is a complete and utter dog turd.

Without doubt he's our most dangerous player.  Opposition managers have realised this and are doubling up on him, so of course he's going to find things a bit more difficult.  However, this will leave more space for Vardy and Nuge to take some more of their chances.

I cringe when I hear people saying any other.  I think the vast majority of City fans massively appreciate him and disassociate themselves from the small number of moronic callers.

First name on the teamsheet for me (well, maybe except kasper), and def in contention for player of the season.

Because I am driving my way back from Florist and don't want to break the law?

The same happened in our last match while I was driving back, I'm sure these people just look for something to latch onto and moan about.

It's an absolute joke in my opinion that such a loyal, dedicated, committed and important member of our team gets singled out by these idiots.

He'll find form again and rip a team to sheds anytime now and when he does it makes me want to go and find them just to tell them what a bunch of clueless pricks they are. No one minds reasoned debate and opinion, but just suggesting he needs binning is over the mark in my opinion.

Is it any wonder that Drinkwater for example felt the need to cup his ears to the fans when some of our more retarded so called fans behave like that?

You're a ****ing slow driver if you've only been able to post now.

Lloyd has had his best season with us.

A few off games recently, doesn't warrant a place on the bench. I would play him against Ipswich, he tore them apart last time.

This time last season some players deserved to be slagged off, but atm nobody deserves hate.

Mahrez has done nothing yet apart from score a tap in, suddenly he's the next Ronaldo according to the muppets on here.

Madness.  He'll get his chance when Lloyd or Anthony get injured / suspended.  Until then it would be absolutely bonkers to tinker with our winning formula.

The boy clearly has talent though, so don't blame people for getting excited about a player who still needs time to settle in this country and get used to this league yet has shown glimpses of skill, composure and quality. For what it's worth though I wouldn't drop Dyer yet. He deserves to keep his place atm and is ridiculously good on his day. He's always had a bad patch during winter months and he's still managed some goals and decent play.

Would not be worried if Mahrez was to start ahead of him though.

Don't think the not changing a winning (or unbeaten) team argument really works. The team may have won at Bournemouth but not with the players that started. We need to manage our squad effectively. I think it would be best for Mahrez to have his debut at home, but I wouldn't drop Lloyd for this one (or Nuge).

I don't agree with the "Slagging off" in general of lloyd, he's been fantastic. But people slagging off his recentl performances of the last 2-3 games are completely entitled to that opinion and I'd agree,

Personally I think a few players could do with some time on the bench to get that fire back:

-Wes

-Lloyd

-Nuge

Would be 3 i'd change, Although I'd struggle to drop nuge given his ipswich form!

It's either 13 in 14 games against them or 14 in 13. Either way he has to play! That's a ridiculous stat! And we complained about Kermorgant vs us!!

All I'll say is that for me, Dyer has had an amazing season. However, same as nuge, if he drops form, it isnt fair on our othher players to leave them in and not give others the chance to find that sort of form either. I'm not taking a side in this argument, as i am happy if nuge and dyer start or are dropped, as i trust pearson, im just putting out anothher side.

It is quite frustrating seeing one of our longest serving squad members get dogs just because he's had a slightly off colour few games in what has otherwise been an outstanding season for him.

I am a huge fan of Lloyd Dyer, he has been exceptional for us this season. He has become more consistent and is a important player for us. He needs a rest. Riyad Mahrez, has looked good in his substitute roles for us I'd start him tomorrow and would bring on Dyer in the last 20 minutes.

People talk about players not having loyalty to clubs, this is fans not having loyalty to players.

Actually proper gets on my nerves hearing people slate him.

It's not as hard of a decision as some people are making it out to be. Mahrez has played well when coming on for the last 15 minutes in a game; and Dyer has been ineffective for the last few games. Also it shouldn't matter what the state of the pitch is like as it shouldn't really matter with a professional anyway, no matter the conditions they should all be able to play + i'm sure Pearson would have dropped him if he knew Dyer wasn't going to be his normal self on these dodgy pitches. He should be dropped and Mahrez should be given his chance to shine, if Mahrez does well then great, start him again, if he doesn't then obviously he's missed his little chance and will just have to wait again for the next opportunity. Football is all about the form of the player especially with Dyer as if he's not in form then he is very close to useless (harsh but true).

I think Dyer is a good player but he really isn't effective at all without his confidence and form, therefore Mahrez should have his chance.

Dyer hasn't been that involved for 5 games now, I'd play him Saturday as konch is out but he may need to be dropped soon.

That doesn't mean I'm slagging him it means we are rotating the team which makes sense when you have depth in the squad. Mahrez was bought for the PL, I'd like to see him get a few matches under his belt T this level before being thrown in at the deep end.

Why do some posters on here take thing so personally on behalf of the players?

They are professionals I'm sure they don't expect to play every game.

Agree completely with the OP.

However, I would still drop him on Saturday as I believe he needs a rest, couple of games out then chuck him back in.

Will be back to his best form.

This. But love the support you show mack!

God there are some sensitive souls on here. The people in this thread wanting dyer dropped want it because...

A) He's been largely ineffective the last 3 or 4 games (True)

B) This is in part to him being doubled up on (True)

C) Because it's proven effective it's probably going to continue to happen

Given that we are unlikely to change from 442 and Dyer has no use anywhere else in this formation dropping him is absolutely the right tactical thing to do. Yet somehow to suggest it means to some people you are a moaner who hates Dyer, the club, the rest of the team and knows nothing about football in general. Maybe mahrez will be great and maybe he won't, but at present Dyer has been neutralized by other teams and will continue to be so. Praising his loyalty and his form in the first half of the season will not change that.
