LeicesterBran Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 I am big fan of Wasilewski. He would be decent cover for us in the Premiership this season.
Stan Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Top game from Wasyl today Agreed. He had a "none shall pass" sort of game
LCFC1996 Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Great performance today, nothing was getting past him
EnglishOxide Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 I am big fan of Wasilewski. He would be decent cover for us in the Premiership this season. **** that. He starts alongside Wes as far as i'm concerned. I like Moore, but he is not the finished article and i would trust Wasyl much more in the Prem. Yes, pace is his only weakness, but John Terry/Nemanja Vidic have gotten away with that for years. His positioning makes up for it.
itsblueupnorth Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 How we've waited for a season like this one and to have a centre half that's nearly an anagram of Walshy only makes it better - I'm a late starter in life and had my son at the age of 44 - Oliver is like me a season ticket holder and is as fanatical as me ( more so I think ) - he has all the home and away shirts plus an Anderlecht one with WASYL on the back who is his favorite player - it's great to have heros - Wasyl definitely fits the bill
leicesterisme Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 He was fantastic today. That block in the 2nd half was superb.
LAprice_ Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Warning: This is NOT A CRITICISM... I've often thought that at times this season, Wes Morgan has not looked as solid as last season. I now have a theory has to why Wes doesn't look quite as magnificent as last year... Wasilewski. For the first time, Wes is playing alongside someone with more experience and dare I say more ability. Wasyl has worked his way into this team and well, to be quite honest, made Wes Morgan look ordinary. Okay, I realise what I'm saying and it may seem controversial. In less harsh terms, what I mean is that last year Wes Morgan was the best defender in the league by a mile - This year he's playing alongside someone who playing better. If it wasn't for the captaincy, I would go as far to say that it's Wes keeping Moore out the side, not Wasyl.
EnglishOxide Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Its a fair call. Id say its Wasyl being there at that level, and Moore hauling himself up to that level rather than Wes having an off season though. We now have three outstanding CBS rather than one.
FoxInTheBox89 Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Makes sence. Wes hasnt bin as outstanding as last. Not a criticism though because last season he was near on perfect.

Wes hasn't played bad but Wasyl's quality has outshone him.

I reckon it's partly due to the fact that Morgan had to cover for two young and inexperienced defenders in Keane and Moore and had to get them out of jail by doing more dirty work which was why he looked more outstanding mast season than this where his CB partner in Wasyl is obviously more reliable due to having more age and experience than Wes.
Langston Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 No idea what the bloke's saying in this video but he looks cool as **** regardless.
StanSP Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 How many chipped passes did he complete today? Distribution is brilliant. That block he made after Charlton broke through was great too. All our CBs have been doing that this season and most of the time it comes off. Putting our bodies on the line and it pays off.
foxfanazer Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Top performance yesterday. Wouldn't mind seeing how Was and Moore do together once we have promotion wrapped up
blueharmie Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 He was outstanding today against Charlton. Reminds me of Walsh. Brilliant defending, passing and positioning and the block were class. My man of match without doubt.
Alf Bentley Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Agree with the last 3 comments - brilliant yesterday and just seems to be getting better. Even rescued Wes a couple of times. Some of the best distribution that I've seen from a centre back - barely a pass went astray, and he wasn't just playing simple balls.
lgfualol Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 I love him I hope we keep him and he is this good in the premier league. Hope he gives John Terry an elbow in the eye.
pazzerfox Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 If Wasyl say's it Christmas then I'm singing Carol's (Ian Stringer)
Bettsj2 Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 If Wasyl say's it Christmas then I'm singing Carol's (Ian Stringer) Hahaha! Thats great.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 3 March 2014 Posted 3 March 2014 He's taken a while to acclimatise, as expected, and at times looks like a walking red card but on Saturday he was massively dominant, the best game by far I've seen him play for us. Have my doubts about Morgan in the Prem and not just because he's been a bit clumsy of late. Then again I watched a bit of Leon Britton at Swansea in Div 3 and 4 and while he looked tidy, you never got the feeling he'd become anywhere close to a Prem regular. I suppose snap judgements often come back to haunt you.

Geez. I thought we are past this stuff. Didn't he already prove that he controls himself very well?
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 3 March 2014 Posted 3 March 2014 Geez. I thought we are past this stuff. Didn't he already prove that he controls himself very well? He's controlling himself better, not disputing that.
Corky Posted 3 March 2014 Posted 3 March 2014 I loved how, when Tudgay wasn't even shaping to shoot, Wasyl was flinging himself on the floor in anticipation of the shot
Monsell1976 Posted 3 March 2014 Posted 3 March 2014 I think the bloke has been great, gives it everything, and a very good signing. If promoted I would like to see him here for another year, as he's a good player to have around in the squad. Proved his worth by keeping a very good player in liam Moore out of the team with his very good performances.
