weller54 Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Lots of comments about Lloyd playing with a lack of confidence lately?.. Why should this be when the team is flying so high??
glen parva fox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Delete this thread, leave Lloyd alone, give him a break
Strokes Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 He has probably been reading this forum, it's enough to drive anyone into depression.
Bert Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Gives the miserable keyboard warriors something to moan about, even though he's having his best season ever for us. Only LCFC fans could moan about Dyer this season.
ousefox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Dyer seems to be the only player in the team that gets a collective moan by most of the ground if he does anything wrong. It's strange how Knockaert can do something equally is bad and get no reaction.

KFS Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 It's quite clear that he's been told to contain down that side. It's been that way since Milwall away. We're too predictable when we attack through him. They'll change it up again soon and he'll be back to his best. Leave him be, he's the first I'm going to hug if we get promoted!
Feed The Yak!! Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Probably worried about Mahrez breathing down his neck
deanolegend1989 Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Dyers had a cracking season. Hes had his off games like everyone else but seems to get scapegoated when he does as others bad games pass them by with little comment. I said before Ipswich game when people wanted Mayrez to start - Keep lloyd on and we win, change and we wont win. He kept Lloyd and we won with ease...Ill say that for every game until the end of the season. The only bad patch we had was when we were faffing about with different players/tactics, Was RB, Miguel and Moore being left out, 3 5 2 at the start etc. All these things might be 'ok' but the reason weve won 11 out of 13 and stayed unbeaten is because our starting 11 are the best thats ever played at this level IMO. Dyer is a part of that and a VITAL part.

Fox92 Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Sorry but other players get stick, as does the team. Look at Nugent, as a main example. Then again, most of the squad has been solid and won't get stick. Dyer's had a great season, I agree, but that shouldn't prevent Mahrez getting a start - I think he deserves one. Form fluctuate at times with certain players and Dyer is obviously struggling at the minute. Thing is about Llyod, when he is off form it is noticeable so much. There. As I said pre-Ipswich, I think Mahrez deserves a start having showed ability when coming off the bench. I'm not having a personal dig at Dyer, I like him as a person and as a player, but I think we need a change and as a fan I want to express that. Doesn't mean I'm miserable or picking on him, or whatever people want to say.

deanolegend1989 Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 I just think we'd regret dropping him without even knowing it..Like I know if we dropped him against Charlton and we drew 1-1 no one would mention 'oh its because we dropped Lloyd' but for me I wouldnt be suprised and the % of us not winning vs Charlton would rise without him on the field. He is a class act and even when hes not as his rip roaring best hes doing a great job for the team. The reason like you say 'when Lloyd is off form its noticable' thats because when hes ON form hes without question the best player on the pitch..Think people subcontiously pick on him because his potential is so good when hes actually at his best. Hes scored a hell of a lot of class goals for us but that Bolton goal earlier this season - big game, big moment in that game, big moment in our season..only Lloyd is capable of doing that.

AKCJ Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Right, i'm not saying Dyer isn't good enough, in fact, i'll say that he's been one of our 3 best players (probably only behind Vardy and Drinkwater) but I just think he's tired and is being easily marked out of games at the moment. I don't think that a little rest will do him any harm at all. Maybe bringing him out of the starting 11 for a couple of weeks will bring him back to his very best. But i'm not the one to make that call, i'll leave it to the man who has done everything perfectly this season.
weller54 Posted 23 February 2014 Author Posted 23 February 2014 Agree.. He was on fire against Bolton.. But something has changed recently!?..
Stadt Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Dyer's game relies a lot on the space available and recently we've not had as much space as teams have closed us down. He looks knackered too, give Mahrez a game.
Munshi Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Ever since Birmingham away he hasn't looked the same. Love you Lloyd
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Why on earth would you want to change a successful line up at the moment? And if nige did make changes and we lose he will get slated, probably by the same numb skulls that are moaning about dyer
deanolegend1989 Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Thats what people think, because Dyer is at his best when he has space and 1 on 1 with his full back.. People realise how dangerous he is so they double up. This is why recently hes been ineffective. We still win because we have a good squad and can make the most of the extra guy in the rest of the field. Dyer on the pitch helps this, he balances the team out and is key for the rest of the team. Without him on the pitch the opposition arnt half as worried. They dont double up and they have an extra attacking influence on the RW(because he isnt as worried at coming back). This for me is why Konchesky hasnt been a liability more often because hes had less threat game to game. In games where we might drop points anyway(Burnley away, Wigan away etc), maybe take him off and see Mayrez, then if we dont win it wouldnt be so obvious, but if we take him off in a banker, like Charlton at home, itll be a waste of 2 or 3 points to mess it up by replacing one of our top players this year.
Raw Dykes Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 I said before Ipswich game when people wanted Mayrez to start - Keep lloyd on and we win, change and we wont win. He kept Lloyd and we won with ease...Ill say that for every game until the end of the season. Why would you say that? I'm sure changing Dyer for Mahrez against Ipswich wouldn't have made any difference to the result. Why do you? We won at a canter against a fairly poor side. I think Dyer is an important part of the team, and has had a good season, but he's not the sole reason we've been winning games. To suggest that he is is pretty ludicrous. This is the best squad we've had since O'Neill left, and by some distance. We can afford to go without any one outfield player in the 1st XI without it affecting the quality of the team too much - we've got options all over the pitch.
deanolegend1989 Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 I never said we couldnt replace any squad member..in fact I said in my above post the quality of the team means if Lloyd is being double marked we can till make the most of the extra space with the rest of the team. I just think without him in the team the % of us dropping points go up..so why take that risk? obviously thats just my opinion but thankfully big Nige thinks the same and thankfully me and him have both been right so far with the team selections. Because our squad is so good though I still think overall we'd cope, but we'd drop more points and like I said, against Charlton if we play same team again we'd more than likely win, if Dyer is dropped Id not at all be suprised if we dropped 2 or 3 points.
MGLCFC Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Dyer's all round game yesterday was below the standards he has set himself this season, however, everyone can have an off game where nothing seems to go right. I don't necessarily think his form has dipped, rather that teams know his pace is a threat and are doubling up on him. This can give the impression that Dyer is being ineffectual, but whilst his contribution is being negated, this is creating more room, space and time for our other attacking players.
Happy Fox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Is it a coincidence that his form has dipped ever since those unsuccessful contract negotiations? it is NP's discretion about whether he should be dropped or not, but I would give Mahrez a chance lets see what he can do, then bring Dyer on for the last 30 minutes of the game where he will rip the opposition full back.
Dickov22 Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 I think it's a combination of things: Radio Leicester gearing the Monday forum last week around 'Should Dyer be starting' Dyer probably found out about it Supporters calling Radio Leicester immediately after games slating Dyer. Dyer is probably aware Perhaps Dyer reads this forum Mahrez looks quality and is breathing down his neck Dyer's form has been so outstanding that even a slight dip in form probably appears worse than it is Teams know Dyer is such a threat that they set up to stop him
