ozleicester Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Was just thinking for the first time in a lonnnnnnnnnng time, there no threads about how much we hate one of our own...eg wellens, gallagher, weale etc etc. Is it just because we are winning, or are all our players perfect?

MC Prussian Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 I can't see a lot of "hate" around here. Has the OP seen our league table? Best indicator that things are progressing the way they should, without any (bigger) troubles or unrest. The main "culprits" of previous seasons or the most unhappy players have all been transferred or loaned out in the meantime. Some squad players get a bit of (unfair/unwarranted) stick when they're not performing the way some people expect them to (as davieG has already pointed out, Dyer and Nugent in particular), but that's about it.

Not to mention that incident with David Forde. Still one of the most disgusting things I've seen on a football pitch coupled with his reaction afterwards. Mind you, I still thought he was a very good player and obviously I'd rather him score the goals to get us promoted rather than just being shite No he isn't. I take a dislike to players though, although the only player that applies to in our squad is Gallagher but he's at another club at the minute and will be leaving our club soon. I don't get the dislike for Nugent though, I do find that strange/ridiculous when you consider what he has achieved at the club.

Kitchandro Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 I did 'hate' PVA and Ricardo, but they weren't really ours. They really did piss me off. Of our permanents I've only really hated Mills and Kermorgant and they brought it on themselves. Some of our players have been very harshly 'hated' though. There is definitely an element of scapegoating when things go bad.

Like the last ten years have been a lie and we have a god given right to be in the top flight, and have had to field years and years with bunch of no hopers good enough for us to attempt to get back there. Unless we buy a whole new team worthy of the premiership because it's a super hard league and our team of hardworkers should all be sacked after gaining us promotion. This is totally a dig at others ;-)
