Adster Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 You can't let your respect for the man override your passion for english football . Like many couldn't give a toss about the England national team. Once they become a team again and not a brand, and once players are chosen on form rather than what club they play for it'll always be that way.
Haydos Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Some of you lot are really funny He's a well known keeper because of his dad, clubs and their scouts are well aware of him, unless you think they were all waiting for his appearance on ITV? People might be well aware of him but performances like this could take him from being on someone's radar to someone they think about putting in an offer for. Or someone they hadn't genuinely considered to someone they may scout further.
Haydos Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Dont forget, he has his father has an earpiece and advisory experience, If Manu come in with 1st choice offer, hes gone, or any Top 4 club. Europe...depends again what club.I cant see him listening to his agent, based on dollars, with avg future, avg club. If hes content on a big rise, and promised 1st choice, then maybe a team with good manager and perspective like:- Everton or Spurs, maybe Dortmund (older gk) or Italian, Spanish equivalent might tempt him....... Hes 27 with 2 young kids, IMO he'll see if Manu come in for him, and what they offer. Then see what top 3-4 Italian might Dangle in front of him. Totting it all up , I only see 8 clubs where interested might be sparked.....So start counting down. If Man Utd come in with an offer of first team football? Stop being thick, they've got one of the best young keepers in the world as their number 1. Unless De Gea were to leave (and he's going nowhere) them Schmeics wouldn't get near the first team.
Alex_LCFC Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 I'm glad he had a good game. Keeps his confidence and morale for our next game. All this he is going because if Hes had a solid game at international level is tosh. I doubt big Europe clubs will be in for him when he has no champs league or Europa experience.

As much as I agree completely with your rationale, if you're De Gea, are you really "going nowhere"? The Barcelona and Real Madrid #1 shirts could well open up this summer and given the malaise which seems to be settling in at OT I certainly wouldn't be surprised if he left.
KFS Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 He will stay, only reason his new contract has not been made public is ffp, tie him to a long term contract and this is another 'expense'. His (and others) will be signed once the new financial year starts! This may well be a goer. Come April 6 we'll know what position we're in with better predictability, then we can start the new financial year with offering various contracts with the PL in mind.I like it.
kingcarr21 Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Admit it England Fans. How many of you cheered when Kasper made a save?? I know i did
KFS Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 I'm as big of an England fan as you'll find, but when Sturridge scored it wound me up a tad

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure FFP is run on accounting years not tax years? i think our AP end is 31st May. Poster has a point though
Xen Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Bloody hell mate, you are psychic!! haha, wish I'd put a bet on it now!
Ashley Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Admit it England Fans. How many of you cheered when Kasper made a save?? I know i did I stood up and applauded him at the game so did two or three other Leicester fans on the row behind me.

I think Lopez or Casillas will still be No. 1 at Real next year. Fair enough about Baca but I still don' think he'll leave them for now.
Lionator Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Nether Man United or AC Milan are going to be making the Champions League are they? I think he'll give it a go in the Premier League with us for a season at least.
Haydos Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Nether Man United or AC Milan are going to be making the Champions League are they? I think he'll give it a go in the Premier League with us for a season at least. I don't think that's relevant. It's all about first team football. Why would it matter if they're in the Champs League if he's not playing?
foxoffderby Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 It was strange yesterday, I found myself wanting Kasper to keep a clean sheet and was cheering every time he made a save. Great performance well done Kasper were all proud of you.....now sign the f ucking contract.
eye666 Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Thought it was good that Kasper had to face some shots last night - keep him sharp, because he must have forgotten what saving a shot felt like the way we've been playing recently...
Leicester_Loyal Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Laughable. He's not even good enough for a top 10 club, nevermind a top 4 club/one in the champs league.

L4EV Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 For me he has to prove himself in the PL before saying he's good enough for a big move. He might still be youngish for a keeper but he's actually been around for some time yet no Premier League club has picked him up, I wonder why.
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 I genuinely feel that our beloved Kasper may well be off. He's a very ambitious young man. If we weren't going to be promoted this season, I'm sure he'd go. But even if we do I think one of the big boys may come calling.
absolutelegend Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 He'll have various offers from all over europe i expect. city will just be one of them.

Real Madrid have keepers, Valdes is leaving Barca but they have supposedly already agreed a deal for Monchengladbach's Marc-Andre ter Stegen who looks a ridiculously good keeper.
LC/FC Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 Think Kasper would stay next season. If he'll play for Notts County and Leeds, an almost certain Leicester City in the Prem next year with guarenteed starting should more than seal the deal. At least 1 full season in the Premiership with the team he came up, with will probably be more beneficial to his international career than a single hyperbolic friendly.
