Let's not get carried away...

christ when I made the thread about mahrez signing and jokingly made a few tweets I got told to "Calm down"

Lets just remember he's had a few decent appearances, Blackpool he was quality... but he was against a team that have not won in 17, Have a feeling some of us could have played well....

No disrespect to mahrez, but he's not proved himself properly yet,

He's not good enough for France,

Infront of him in algeria are:

Bentaleb - Tottenham

Feghouli - Valencia

Brahimi - Grenada

Taider - Inter

Ghilas - Predominantly a striker but has played as a winger a few times for porto

Yebda - Udinese

All would walk into us IMO -

He's got a long way yet, I see many who are being cautious but seen a few that I think are letting biased opinions in,

I'd love to see him there, but let him prove himself for us first.

Yebda, Taider and Bentaleb are all centre mids though. He has Feghouli, Brahimi and Boudebouz in front of him from what I can see.

Bentaleb is a CM/RM He plays on the right wing frequently when he comes on

Yebda and Taider were in there purely because Mahrez plays a free role for us, And he may be considered anywhere in midfield

Either way with all due respect, he's going to struggle to get into that team anywhere in midfield after a few good games for a championship club

I really like that coverage, makes for an interesting and intriguing reading, especially the reference to a (possible) promotion: They call it "inevitable". :D

However, I wouldn't consider 5ft 10 1/2'' to be "little".

That's a very refreshing read. There's a 7 minute video of his highlights from the Blackpool game and this lad really is quality. He's got a hell of a lot about him. Skill, pace, FLAIR, vision, he can shoot, cross - this lad was under half a million quid. I love Lloyd but unfortunately, sentiment and nothing else will get him in the side over this lad. Class above.

Is he really not a better prospect than Bentaleb?

There is no reason why he cannot be a better prospect,

However bentaleb is 4 years younger, And playing in the premiership at 19 (albeit not many appearances) He's playing stronger opposition at a younger level....

In all honesty I'd say they are similar prospect, both unexposed at the top level, young and hungry

Bentaleb gets slated left right and centre.

Typical spurs fans, 19, played 11 games since he signed in 2013, gets slated... worse than leicesterf fans!

Personally watched him twice and thought he looked good in his small appearance

Anyone seen KingFox?

Did he question Mahrez's ability?!? Must have missed that. So that's another thing he's clueless about. I noticed he's stopped going on about Bamford now that Derby, and therefore Bamford, haven't scored for a month.

That long ball through to Vardy...

That actually was like something Xavi or Iniesta would pluck out.

Vardy should have buried it!

It's fantastic to have a video like this to watch, you have time to see everything the player is doing on the pitch. Sometimes you get caught in the emotions and don't notice the small, intelligent spells of football.

Imagine if we had this video before he signed, we'd have been delirious!

Mahrez is sensational, for me.  Has so much natural football nous and skill, coupled with industry, teamwork and strength.  Is it too early to be thinking of him as a young Zidane-like player?  Can't wait to see how he shapes up in the Prem.

Too true plus all the passing, movement and options that the midfield have. Blue Brazil :D:trumpet::scarf: :scarf: :pearson: :pearson:

People will say 8 games is too early to judge a player but is it? He's been playing like this every single time I've seen him play and his goals/assists record (2 goals, 3 assists, mostly off the bench) is excellent and it'd be even better if it wasn't for others missing chances.

I think we've been playing to a level even greater than before recently and I can't help but feel a lot of it is down to Mahrez.

Class player.

He has started brilliantly but at the moment he is something of an unknown quantity. Let's see how he is doing at the end of this year against better players who will know his game before making him out to be a world beater.
