Finally someone whos talking some sense

The Wigan game is a "free game" so to speak. We can only pull further away rather than get caught. Hopefully we'll make the most of it.

Yes that's my fear, Yeovil was our worst performance of the season, there were warning signs at Blackburn that our form was starting to dip, I will be very very happy if we can pinch a point at Burnley, for if we lose Saturday there will be massive pressure on the Wigan game and the talk of implosion.

yes very good and intelligent point, let's measure form over two games, which represents just over 5% of the games played.

The last game and a half has been poor and I certainly left last night thinking that we could and maybe even would contrive to throw it away from here.

BUT we've already got enough points to have been automatically promoted in 7 of the last 10 seasons. Even if worst comes to worst and we lose to Burnley and Wigan and QPR beat Blackpool (which as a trio of results I would say is not particularly unlikely but the bookies think it is about 8/1) we'll still be 10 points clear of 3rd with 8 games to go.

Interestingly, the bookies have us as favourites for Saturday. 11/8 against 19/10 for Burnley which is incredible really for 2 sides separated by 3 points and with Burnley unbeaten at home this season.

According to the inside man on the Burnley forum, Ings and Trippier are both definitely out on Saturday. Add to that Marney, this might be a good time to play them.

Big game, not huge. We lose 1-0 we stay top and move on to a game in hand. We get a result there we go into the next two home games two points clear.

We will beat them. They are at home and come to play. Drinky loves teams who do that. When he plays we play.

Start Wood, play Dyer keep the rest in.

Massive game on Saturday against a very impressive Burnley side. I never did get the feeling they'd fade away and I'm glad QPR were kind enough to as it's allowed to get into the position we're currently in. Saturday could potentially be the best awayday I've done for a while, possibly ever, or it could make the £20 I've just put on Burnley to win the championship outright at 5/1 look like a good piece of business. Either way, I win! :D

At least a point. This game is important for the title, but promotion is really not in play. There is only really QPR and they don't have what it takes to put together a run to catch up. In any case City will have a chip on their shoulder. I expect a good performance.

Early morning thoughts on what lies ahead. Thinking about QPR as our closest threat to automatic promotion. If we win just 2 of our last 9, and they lose 2 of tbeir last 8, winning the other 6, we still go up. That helped to calm me ahead of the weekend!

Well I'll be in Benidorm watching this game, hopefully in a cheap sports bar, sipping back the jâgers :)

A good performance please followed by either a draw or three points. I've got a good feeling about this game.

Come on CITEEEEHHH! :chant:

A few of our top performers are looking jaded, Drinkwater, James, Vardy and Nugent all look tired in the last two outings, the Yeovil game was hard going and probably took it's toll physically and mentally, whereas burnley had a stroll in the park against Doncaster... Would like to see King and Hammond start for this one, with Wood in for Nugent... this is a big match for deciding the Title, BUT nowhere as defining as the game against QPR which, if we win guarantees us promotion!!..

I've decided I am just going to enjoy the day up there. It's 1st v 2nd. We have a chance to go back top on Tuesday if we fail. It's a strange game for a Leicester fan in the past years where I am going to be nervous but why? It's not a playoff, it's not a six pointer.

I disagree. Fatigue is not an issue.

Drinkwater - yes he made some bad passes, but on both Tuesday and Saturday his energy levels rose towards the end of the games. He was hungry for the ball and he was close to scoring in both games bursting forward from midfield. He also laid on our equaliser with a great cross.

Nugent - finding it difficult to find the space between the opposition's midfield and defensive lines due to the way teams like Yeovil set up tactically. The withdrawn striker role is a hard one to play if the opposition counter it by taking away that space. For me, he does not look tired. He looks focused and is a key part of our side.

It's easy to focus on individual players, but ultimately the reason we have dropped points the last two games is because we came up against teams that did their homework on us and played well.

Give Blackburn and Yeovil the credit they deserve rather than looking for excuses about our own team's performance and fitness levels.

All this fatigue rubbish, I think it was Gary Neville the other week who said "fatigue is the excuse of an out of form player".

Fatigue has not made Vardy miss about 5/6 absolute sitters in the last three games.

God I hope we turn up for this. Another performance of mediocrity for whatever the reason will not sit comfortably.

It would if we won!

 Hi,

Burnley fan in peace here.

Reading between the lines you guys seem to be in a bit of a mini slump at the moment or think you are, nothing drastic a bit like ours after Xmas where we lost to Boro and drew a lot of games. I think Saturday will help you overcome this as both teams will definitely be up for it with top spot potentially being reachable by us & you guys wanting to pull clear of us.

Marney will be a big loss for us on Saturday, was very underrated before this season Dyche has really got him amongst many others playing to the best of his ability. Nugent will obviously pop up with his inevitable goal against us, we may as well just let him walk it in from the kick off and have it done with!

I think it will be a very close game on Saturday but I'm not actually as nervous as I was for last night against Doncaster or last weekend against Charlton, I think we may just sneak it. I'd love us to take top spot but I think you guys will prove to have too much for us in the long run & I'd be more than happy to finish 2nd!

I think we may spring a few surprises, Dyche doesn't give anything away with regard to team news until the day of the game, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see either Ings or Tripps on the teamsheet or possibly even both come Saturday as they're not out with bad injuries just niggles really.

Anyway I'm very excited for the game on Saturday, hoping for a quality game and may the best team win.

I'd like to wish you good luck for the rest of the season....barring playing us but I'd be lying a bit as I still want us to get 1st, I'm very glad it's you guys in 1st rather than QPR though!

We will play our best team available and you will play yours if both these teams play there "A Games" on Saturday.  I am convinced hopeful Leicester will take the 3 pts.  :sweating:

If the best right back in the league is likely to be slightly hampered by injury, and the player of the season can't play, alongside a very good midfielder in Marney, I think this would be a very good time to play them

And I suppose (and hope) our team wants to get over the Yeovil performance as quickly as possible and put in an extra effort.

Here's to some points on Saturday.

I hate playing sides who've got their key players out. It never seems to end well for some reason.

This season is different (in so many aspects).

I'll rue missed chances after a game, not before.
